Any other premenopausals having trouble with their immune system? |
|
I rarely if ever get sick. I have a fairly good diet, and 2 times this summer I have had bronchitus and now a sore throat again! There is some emotional stuff going on which feeds a depression(which I hear is par for the course) but staying well for any real length of time is hard right now- it has to be hormones, right? I'm not used to this. I was out of my SuperGreens for awhile but they should be here tomorrow. Alkalizing with BarleyGreens, etc. I hope will balance this all out!

Between age-related issues, the intense energies we're bombarded with, and how our activities of daily life impact our health, I'm more confused than ever about the possible causes of discomfort and dis-ease.
I will say that I ABSOLUTELY believe hormones are an integral part of how we feel, especially (obviously) in the perimenopausal period but even at other stages of life. How to keep them truly balanced is the question. I'm working on that myself. ;) I think it is a very, very individual process though.
It seems you are really proactive about your health which is GREAT!
In addition to the progesterone cream (which, personally -- for now -- helps my hormonal balance) and adrenal/thyroid supplementation, one supplement I think I've been in dire need of and have been missing is vitamin D.
Of course, there's much talk about vitamin D and how we're all in dire need of this supplementation, and how it affects our immune system. Specifically D3, which is what I'm taking now, between 5000 and 10,000 units a day.
I find this goes in cycles and I never quite reach the ideal regimen, as in the process of balance one thing something else gets imbalanced! It drives me crazy, I tell ya!
I hope you feel much better soon!!!

Yes, Vit D3! I DO take it everyday, but I am thinking I might need to increase it. But just after I posted yesterday, I got some really good news, and my symptoms basically went away??!! Weird, how emotions smooth out so much or wreak havoc! I am going to try to keep that level of enthusiasm up and remember who I am, and the light that is me! Everyone needs to really remember their light, their hearts, their souls!!!!

the "time of life" would have anything to do with your immune system. Other stresses in your life, yes, but not whether you are pre-,peri- or post-menopause.
I'm post, myself, and I have been extraordinarily healthy all my life. Yeah, over the years I do occasionally get sick, but rarely for more than a day or so, unless it's a cold and then that lasts a week, of course. I don't recall noticing any changes in my health during menopause. Of course, the hot flashes weren't a lot of fun, but that's not what you're asking about.
