But of course in practice, if you are comparing the two in a chart it would depend on how close the aspects are, the planets involved, approaching or separating, and so forth.

Astrology is a holistic endeavor. The relationships between the planets in trine aspect & the other strong elements, planets & aspects in the chart effect the situation.
