Scalia's revenge: Actual news or a prophetic dream I had? |
|
No, I'm serious. I have this funny series of images in my mind about Antonin Scalia's "revenge" upon Bush and his administration, as punnishment for Scalia not becoming Chief Justice. In my head, I vaguely recall something about Scalia being extremely unhappy, making weird comments in media articles, possibly voting the "wrong way" in an upcoming case. Has there been any coverage of anything Scalia has been doing recently? Yes, I saw the Onion article this morning (after I'd had the dream). Seriously, I've read so much new news in the past few days that I can't figure out if stuff about Scalia being unhappy about the Court's situation has been covered or not.

1. I think the supremes are on break right now |
|
They start up again next month, so there isn't any recent Scalia activity, except possibly hunting with Dick.
Interesting dream -- that would be something, wouldn't it?

2. Is it normal to select someone inexperienced to be the chief justice? |
|
Wouldn't it make sense to pick someone who's been not only in the supreme court, but actually been judging for awhile? How come there isn't any discussion around that aspect?

3. I've wondered about it. |
|
It's kind of like when they all of a sudden turned on one of their own, and put Frist in as Majority Leader of the Senate -- when there were others who SHOULD HAVE ascended to that position, instead.
We'll see what Scalia will do. It may, or may not, be something interesting! Republicans have ALL been pretty good little step soldiers for the neocons.

I don't know why but I always thought Scalia would be next in line. This strong feeling it is/was supposed to be him. I was very surprised at the Roberts nomination. People do strange things though if their power is threatned. Maybe if Roberts does get the position Scalia will be upset and could get revenge. I could see him doing that because didn't he help Bush with 2000? So he would expect Bush to return some favor to him like that. How did this dream feel to you? Do you think it felt prophetic or just a dream since you've been reading a lot?

5. Couldn't tell you much about the "feel." |
|
That's kind of why I posted. It was sort of fleeting, a bunch of images of newspapers and mags I saw at the end of another dream I had, right before waking. Hence, my temporary confusion about whether or not it ever WAS a dream.
