Just saw an interesting movie |
|
The Movie "Crash" with Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, and Ludacris, etc. We rented it tonight. It is all about how every action has an impact on others that in turn leads them to act in a certain way. It was like watching karma exaggerated and intensified.
Personally, I like a good story with a strong catharsis at the end, but this was really interesting. People were shaped by events that happened to them and then acted on them that in turn shaped the next events. It was just fascinating.
There was also the theme of how racial relations are so loaded and how people react to one another based more on race than on who they are. And then of course, how the reaction to that leads to other things.

1. I rented it a week ago, and I agree with you. |

Fascinating and thought provoking. All the links and connections... the ripples (actions, events) spreading out, further touching and influencing others. Reminded me of the movie Grand Canyon from 8-10 years ago, which I also liked.

2. I LOVE "Grand Canyon." |
|
Now, I will have to rent "Crash," especially if, in your opinion, "Crash" is better?

4. Yes, I like it better than Grand Canyon! |

I will have to dig that video out and watch it again, but I feel Crash is a better movie. Better and more serious, due to it's subject matter -- race in America. Very well done. I would watch it again.
I definitely recommend!

3. Thanks, sounds like an interesting movie. |

Surely we are all, to some degree, products of what came before us.
It seems like the type of plot that could easily be a comedy.

6. It is definitely not a comedy |
|
The racism portrayed in the movie that flourishes everywhere in the stereotypes people have of one another is very brutal and also causative. But unlike most movies, it has really stayed with me and gotten me to think about how people are impacting one another, quite unconsciously, all the time.
