Are we moving from Warrior to Magician |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-06-10 08:17 PM by BanzaiBonnie
I found this somewhere awhile back. I don't know who wrote it, so can't attribute. What do you guys think?
Pearson’s most interesting observation is her belief that we are moving from a Warrior to a Magician culture. The former is characterized by the ethos of ‘getting ahead’, even if what we get ceases to mean much or do us much good. The Magician is more open to change and transformation, less set in its ways, and instead of trying to be a winner in the existing, less than perfect world, is willing to create a new world. Where Warriors strategize, using will and tenacity to make change, the Magician envisions, believing that the power of the vision will create its own momentum. Which is better? To the extent that the Magician is enlisting forces greater than himself, Magician-ship would ultimately seem more powerful. Most people would prefer to produce magic than fight battles.

2. That's my vision of what the ideal future is. |

Magician also can be a win/win whereas Warrior tends to be win/lose and us vs. them. I hope that ends as well.
Thanks for bringing up the issue, BBonnie. I think that humanity will have to change, or we're not going to survive as a species.

I agree. If we, humanity, doesn't change, I think we will go the way of the dinosaur. Homosapiens sapiens will be looked at down the road like we look at the Neanderthal.

3. That brought tears to my eyes..... |

I sure hope so. I choose Magician-ship...creating a new world and believing the power of the vision will create its own momentum.
I choose that.
I needed to see that this morning. Thank you so much, BanzaiBonnie.

On edit: I just got this quotation from my daily quotation site: "A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and sings it back to you when you have forgotten how it goes." (Author unknown) We know your heart song, my friend. If you need us to sing it back to you, just let us know.

It may not be mutually exclusive though. I have heard of magicians calling themselves spiritual warriors. That brings up the subject of black magic. To say that it doesn't exist is pulling the wool over our eyes. But what to do? Fight it??? If so, the warrior thing plays in. Ignore it? That may also not be a good option. I don't really get into stuff like this but I don't think we should pretend it all doesn't exist. Could be dangerous...............much as I like to concentrate on the happy stuff.

I do know, however, that doing that work is not part of my path. Therefore, unless it pops up in my own personal life, I'm not supposed to focus on it.
We who are here at this time working to help humanity to realize its highest potential are not here by accident, as I'm sure you realize. I feel that we each have our area of "expertise". I suspect that there are "light workers" (I don't really like that term, for some reason) incarnated at this time who do that kind of work.
Just my own personal beliefs. Others may feel differently, of course. :)

7. I KNOW that we can create a 5th-Dimensional culture (or even higher). |
|
I just KNOW it. It screams continuously through every single part of myself, and has done so all of my life.
The only thing is, I want it NOW, because I know that it's possible!

And we are not a sports family. We just aren't interested in us vs. them and victory over another. I do believe that we are leaving the warrior mentality behind. Can't come soon enough, IMO.
