1. Gutless weinie, huh
My blood boiled when I saw the clip of the asswipe who stomped her head asking for an apology.

I hope she sues the whole lot of them for assault and battery and the perps do time behind bars.

2. This is what they really want.
To be able to dominate by force. Sharron Angle's call for armed force "to take their country back" if they lose. Then Joe Miller's guards unduly held a reporter. Now this.

Get the Red Out, if you should see this, can you tell us what you perceive is the mood in Kentucky about this? Especially what some people think about this man need for an apology.

6. Hard to say...
I am afraid it is very hard to judge, most people around me remain silent. People who I already know are sane are completely disgusted by it. I am grateful that the local paper is keeping up with the story and the progressive bloggers of Kentucky are hitting it hard as is Jack Conway, Rand Paul's opponent.

I do know that Lexington prides itself on being a genteel southern city and a situation like this happening here, right after being the first US city to host the World Equestrian Games, certainly gives it a black eye it does not want. I seriously doubt either Louisville or Lexington will give that idiot the majority of their votes. How this plays in the rural areas of the state is hard to gage, I know by comments after the newspaper articles online the Paulites try to justify the physical assault by saying the woman was not from Kentucky, I don't know if you can get much weaker of an argument. That could easily be used to justify an assault on Rand Paul himself, Texan that he is.

From my very unconnected place, the silence is absolutely deafening, my ubber-conservative FB "friends" don't put a thing about Rand Paul on their pages, it appears. I hope the bad press for the state because of Rand Paul keeps coming. It is becoming very obvious to anyone with any sense what kind of people are the backbone of his campaign. It should have been apparent when he appeared at the state capital last spring surrounded by armed militia members.

7. I'm really, really glad that the newspapers
aren't being neutral. I hope the system throws the book at this guy, at the very least to show nationwide to anyone else with similar ideas that this will not be tolerated.

Thanks for your point of view, GTRO. This really has my blood boiling but I'm glad that she'll be okay.

3. I hope people start to see these tea-partiers for what they are
Edited on Thu Oct-28-10 07:07 AM by rosesaylavee
White supremacists who have no tolerance for women or minorities who think their own thoughts or do their own thing. I am dreading for Tuesday to come but so anxious to find out the results of this election. This is such a difficult week. I do hope more people are not hurt by these thugs in the days ahead before Tuesday.

10. Considering that corporations were given "people" status by SCOTUS
this is extremely dangerous. If Republicans get in with any kind of majority, corporations begin taking over.

Please see my current autosignature and vote.

11. I disagree
as far as I'm concerned...as far as I can see...the corporations took over long ago.

Please don't tell me what to do or who to vote for. I may vote. I may not. Actually, I will, but I don't think it will matter. We have a hard rightwing nutcase running for governer here in Maine, and he's got a 10 point lead over the dem. He wants to drill for oil off of Maine's coast and also turn one of our most scenic little seaside villages into a port for oil. And he has a bunch of other hairbrained ideas. He will trash our environment in no time, given the opportunity. I hope like hell he doesn't kill the offshore windfarms in progress...

13. Sorry that you're giving up. It's not over until it's over
and it is imperative, read, imperative that we work as hard as possible in all realms for a Democratic victory. We ain't seen nothin' yet regarding manifestation of the negative hierarchy, not even with BushCo, and I fight against total ensconcement.

With the new energy, change is more than possible, but those who do the most work, will get the most results. A positive new world is not only possible, it is -begging- to be born.

14. I think it's way past democrat versus republican
it has been a bipartisan disaster, and I'm not making excuses for dems in bed with repubs any more. with a large democratic majority for 2 years, the direction has been further to the right than under Bush.beyond failure to prosecute war criminals. Spying on citizens expanded. the health insurance fiasco. claiming the right to assasinate citizens based on suspician, without due process. and now they want censorship via punishment for downloading wikileaks. Sorry, but if that's what the democrats now stand for, I want no part of it.

And my guides tell me the only way it will end is for the empire to collapse in on itself. Only then can we rebuild.

I am of a mind to walk away. I am sorry I started school, but I must see it through at this point. I wish I had stuck to my original plan and sold this place 3 years ago.

But I still had skills I needed to learn, and I guess that's the real reason I'm still here. When I sell this place, I will be able to walk away. I don't know if I will stay in Maine or go to 4 corners. I can survive here, and there is water. There is one camp I will be visiting tomorrow -- a 4-season cabin on 40 acres with a discontinued road to a lake. That may be where I end up. After I sell this place and pay off the student loans, I think I will still be able to afford a windmill on it. There is another camp in a very "blue" village to the north, also on 40 acres but I'm not sure if it is 4-seasons. I'll find out. But there are many to disappear to. I do like the idea of the one at the end of the dead end road, with the woods road to the lake. It's mixed fields and woods...

When I moved here I saw the future...but it's taking longer to get here than I anticipated. I always get the timing off. They play games that drag things out...I forget how long it takes for empires to fall. It took Digital Equipment -- a mere 14B corporation -- a good 15 years from when the rumors started.

16. Hugs NL
I've often felt that way as well. I'll vote, however, I'm not quite certain that will truly make much of a difference. Here in NY our choice is between a homophobic, racist, sexist teabagging millionaire developer and a political legacy adept at the mechinations of Albany who has just expressed anti-labor threats who is 20 pts ahead in the polls. The unions don't know what to do --lol. We have a 3rd choice (well actually a few other minor party choices such as the previous Madam of prostitutes (like we need another pimp in office) and The Rent is Too Damn High action figure guy) -- a party that actually has a platform I agree with and I think I am going to vote for him--Howie Hawkins. The Greens need 10,000 votes to stay on the ballot. I know Cuomo will win anyway but I want to keep the Green option open.

I hope Maine regains her sanity and does not vote that man in who will destroy her coast line. The Dems there should put up billboards showing the abandoned oil fields asking their citizens if that is what they want to become of their state.

I hope as well that you are able to sell your property when you need to. I will likely try to sell mine next year. What 4 corners were you speaking of?

17. 4 corners is the meeting place of New Mexico
Edited on Fri Oct-29-10 07:29 AM by northernlights
Arizona, Colorado and Utah. The whole area is a power place. At some point after I sell this place and have my degree, if there is work in a community hospital in that area then I'd like to go there. Maybe under auspices of Vista. That's unless I bug out of here altogether and head to South America...

In your voting situation, the choice would be pretty simple. With one unwanted candidate 20 points ahead, Green is the unquestionable 'vote your conscience." Keeping Greens alive is a truly worthwhile, meaningful vote.

18. I thought that was what you were referring to
but wasn't sure.

My relocation will likely be Tennessee -- but not purchasing anything. I'll be renting to keep my options open. Everything is very fluid right now-- we are not making any firm decisions. So my focus is to remain flexible, and make whatever changes are necessary to enhance flexibility and choice.

Man plans, God laughs.

12. Either way,
the big time comes April 1, when Uranus marches back into Aries to stay. Uranus/Aries combinations rule guns and gunfire. I'm concerned. On the other hand, good grassroots campaigns will go gangbusters too! :hi:

20. It does make one wonder how he treats the women in his life...
if he would resort to violence in a situation like this.

Sigh... I often don't even feel human anymore. I feel as though I'm looking down on all of this, and my soul's very weary, at least right at this moment. It reminds me of the Stevie Wonder song "Saturn".

It almost feels like I'm watching a lot of this from somewhere else entirely, almost as if it's in the past and is just a long ago bad memory. Strange.
