clearing ancestral karma
http://www.kch42.dial.pipex.com/ancestral.htm

Pretty interesting website that I found-- I searched because a family member of mine appears to still have a bit of a physical problem that was due to a traumatic event in his grandmother's life. Although he is mostly cleared of the event with an earlier intervention we did, it appears that I have to go back and clear his ancestor (whom I never met). Probably I will have him take on her energy and then just figure out what to do. Maybe I will have him do some EFT affirmations because to clear it she most likely has to forgive some people. Okay, I have never tried anything quite like this. Any suggestions here? In any case I thought you all might be interested in this website, and the idea of actually treating the ancestor. I'm not sure why it didn't previously occur to me that his ancestor actually has to be cleared of the event, not just him. I have a nifty new low level laser device so I might try using that for the clearing. Wish me luck!

Oh, yeah, thank goodness for the internet and people having websites like this to help guide me!

1. Personally, I find it not credible that anything
that happened to an ancestor would create karma in a descendant. Sorry, but that just does not match with my understanding of karma.

2. karma may not be the right word
But, believe me, events in an ancestors life that are very traumatic can affect the health of the offspring, or the offspring's offspring.

3. My experience is that there is individual karma
as well as ancestral karma, group karma, national karma, and world karma. The balance must be met. There is nothing vengeful or personal about the fulfillment of karmic debt. It is a thought form created and then there is a balance to be fulfilled.

There may be more complexity than this, but it's my basic understanding.

4. somehow a strong energetic pattern
can be inherited, and occasionally cause problems. I know it happens because I have seen it. I don't have strong feelings about the word "karma" though. I used that word to do my search though.

I think this could be passed down through the chakras...............

8. Yes, events can effect `
descendants but I would absolutely not use the word karma to describe those effects. Karma results from our own actions, not from what our parents or grandparents have done.

10. I prefer the term thoughtform
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thoughtform

and for more mundane psychological explanation of some family inheritance I suggest this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systems_psychology

7. ugh, you got that right
:hugs:

We just did the clearing for the long deceased ancestor. She had to forgive her father. The whole incident had had a major effect on her heart chakra, and was passed down generationally. That part seemed to work really well. I am just not exactly positive of the connection of this to the continued symptoms in the descendant, which are in any case MUCH LESS than when we first embarked on this weird stuff a few years ago. I thought they were almost all gone except for residual stuff, but there have been small issues lately. Crossing my fingers............

I'm not sure if this is appropriately termed "ancestral karma" or not, though the website does use that term.

9. ...the life experiences of grandparents and even great-grandparents alter their eggs and sperm
Sins of the Grandfathers
What happens in Vegas could affect your offspring. How early-life experiences could cause permanent changes in sperm and eggs

http://www.newsweek.com/2010/10/30/how-your-experiences-change-your-sperm-and-eggs.html

life experiences of grandparents and even great-grandparents alter their eggs and sperm so indelibly that the change is passed on to their children, grandchildren, and beyond. It’s called transgenerational epigenetic inheritance: the phenomenon in which something in the environment alters the health not only of the individual exposed to it, but also of that individual’s descendants.

snip

Skinner’s findings are far from anomalous. For one thing, they’re not confined to rats or to the fungicide he fed them. Other labs, too, are finding that experiences—everything from a lab animal being exposed to a toxic chemical to a person smoking, being malnourished in childhood, or overeating—leaves an imprint on eggs or sperm, an imprint so tenacious that it affects not only those individuals’ children but their grandchildren as well.

Reiki and Healing Our Ancestors
http://www.reiki.org/reikinews/reiki%20ancesters.html

Many of our parents and grandparents lived through the Depression in the 1930's, and I imagine some of you reading this did also. Living in that time created much fear for the ability to survive. It also brought up self-worth issues for many and created a workaholic consciousness in some. Many people felt powerless to change their circumstances. Whenever there is a sense of powerlessness it is based on a fundamental belief in separateness from the Divine, or perhaps an abandonment by one's own spiritual guidance. Only through reconnecting with that personal Divine power can such a belief system be healed.

One day while I was sending healing energies to my ancestors I felt a particularly strong connection to my paternal Grandmother. She lived the nightmare of the Depression when she and her family lost everything they owned except a piece of land in Illinois. For a period of time they lived in a small barn on their property, and they farmed the land to feed themselves and help their neighbors. The earth sustained them through this difficult time, and ultimately they were able to re-establish financial stability. However, this experience further instilled several beliefs in my grandmother, who already had lived through some very challenging times as a child. During this healing session I felt her fear, sense of hopelessness, unworthiness, and I also felt the anchoring of the belief that life is hard, and that we must work very hard for everything we receive.

Although my life as a child was materially much easier than my grandmother's, and my parents did their best to provide for all of our needs, genetically the energetic essence of her fears and beliefs were passed on to me. In order to provide for our family, my parents "worked very hard"and sacrificed many of their personal emotional needs. Although my parent's are both basically positive people, I still received messages from them or other family members such as; "Life isn't always fair", "Only hard work and perseverance win out", "If you are going to do something, do it right." "Always put other's feelings before your own", "In the end you can only count on yourself." and so on. Conversely I received the message that "You can do anything, if you set your mind to it, maintain a positive attitude and act with honesty and integrity". This last message is one I choose to hold as a personal truth, the rest I am repatterning with the help of Reiki and soul clearing work. Reiki is a tool that helps us reconnect to our true personal power, Divine Love, thus it assists us in healing any sense of separation. I would like to share a healing technique that Reiki has given me to assist in my healing, by help my ancestors heal.
