2. how funny! I was just reading your thread in GD...

which prompted me to see if there was an Astrology forum here at DU and now the first thread I click on when I figure out this group exists is yours! I love it! :bounce:
So I guess I can forgive you for being a Cancer. :sarcasm: Though seriously, Cancers and me dont normally see eye to eye.... :(

I have a theory based on water signs (Cancer is a water sign).

5. :-) Im an Aries ... but now that I think about it...

one of my closest friends is a cancer. Well, I guess I would consider him more of a partner in crime :evilgrin: ... but it seems to be either really really good, or really really bad. Its as though theres no middle ground with me and Cancers... do you think its a fire/water thing?

Maybe. I had a best friend for years. When she and I tried living together, it was DISASTER! (Leo-fire)

After I moved on and started building a great new life, I found out she was still talking about me behind my back and wishing me bad fortune. I called and talked her into being friends again. Even after all the bs she caused.

Grudges? I'd say so! Nothing a creative Lioness cannot overcome evidently.

4. my partner and i did an experiment a while ago

we spent a week 'being' each zodiac sign by invoking the energies of the sign and trying to live the traits of the particular sign. We were each doing a different sign but one in the same triplicity, i.e. he'd do Leo while I was doing Saggitarius, and so forth around the zodiac.

What we both noticed, was that Cancer was absolutely the most difficult sign to experience. We both felt miserably hyper-sensitive and insecure during that week. I have a new sense of compassion for my Cancer friends ;-)

13. well, hmmm

i work (mostly) in the hermetic tradition. i'm sure there are other ways to go about this.

I started by first evoking the Archangels and the Enochian Divine Names and Tablet King of the element of the signs I was working with (by way of the 'Greater Invoking Ritual of the Pentagram'). Then i evoked the planetary force ruling the sign by way of a Hexagram Ritual. After that I used the permutation of the Tetragrammaton associated with the sign to evoke the energy of the sign. Along with visualizing the corresponding colors and using incense associated with the sign.

ahem, you asked ;-) it probably sounds more complicated than it is. takes a bit of practice though.

Cancer is the mothering sign, so it does have it's upside. GWB just has all the worst scenario traits! LOL

I once met a guy who was born the same day as me, but a few years earlier. We dated once or twice and he got very possessive and pushy. THAT was THAT - he came to my work hunting me down one night. So glad I avoided that car wreck LOL

I am a June Cancer, GWB is a July Cancer.

Have you read anything about Dr. Luis Turi? He says he does astrology based on Nostradamus' way - that it doesn't go by birth date or time (back in his day, that does make sense) it goes by month. Therefore, any June person is a Gemini, any July person is Cancer, etc.

He gave me a sample of one of his books that talked about Gemini and, I have to admit, there were some things to Gemini that fit me much better than what I have always read about Cancers.

15. a friend said that his drinking-and cocaine-will be the big thing

that brings him down. he was right on target about the end of Sept., and is predicting something major for the eclipse "what is hidden will be revealed". maybe he will do a drunken speech or do a line on live tv. whatever it is I don't see how it can top Katrina, but maybe it will be the straw that broke the camel's back.

16. My brother is exactly one week older than Dubya

And I've been very sorry for him of late because his job has become incredibly demanding and stressful, to the point of prompting suicidal talk. While I hate to see him going through all this, it's comforting to know that his fellow 1946 Cancer has all the same transits this year.
