Thank you to those that have been so generous with offering their interpretations on dream symbols for me... I come here as a last resort--when my books, the internet and my intuition isn't helpful.
What would it mean to be going to jail? But jail wasn't really like jail. The jail I was intented to go to was more like a school dorm than an actual jail.
Also, I wasn't actually arrested. I was told I HAD to go to jail. But then I was able to visit and see where I was going to stay. The room had a bed, a dresser, a closet--in fact it looked a great deal like my room from college--but it was referred to as jail.
The whole time, I didn't want to go. So at one point, I actually called, and was told there was a mistake and there was no room for me to come anyway--in addition I was told, that if I wanted to, there would be room for me in another month or 90 days.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
My interpretation--When I went to college, sometimes it felt like jail for me. There were times I didn't want to be there, but I went anyway, to escape the hell that was my home of origin. So this is all I can really think this may mean. I'm just not at all sure why or what about this is relevant in the here and now...

1. FWIW--dreams about school often mean a desire or need to |

expand knowledge. (from "Understand Your Dreams," by Alice Anne Parker.

2. Could it be that you have to make a choice about something |
|
Something that you need to make up your mind about or a commitment, it seems like whatever it is that you are being given more time to consider what you want.

...you are feeling trapped by a situation that is not really all that bad, but do feel as if you have no choice and are also feeling "imprisoned" because there is not real free movement, just the illusion of freedom. OR -- perhaps the situation you are in is really just an "illusion of imprisonment" but, it really is not as bad as you are making it out to be.
The other thing I have noticed in dreams, is that rooms often represent aspects of ourselves. In this case, your desire to "study or learn" may be more like a "sentence." There is a feeling of dread, but it really isn't a prison.
A really off the wall thought: "Thank you to those that have been so generous with offering their interpretations on dream symbols for me... I come here as a last resort--when my books, the internet and my intuition isn't helpful. " As this is your last resort (and I am not saying that is a bad thing or making a comment about you), perhaps you feel this is your "jail" when it comes to dream issues. You feel you have no choice but to come here, but it is not as bad as jail, and you still get the information(study or direction) you need.
Whatcha think?
