Nolle's December Astro-Forecast
The last SuperMoon of 2004 (the second most powerful such alignment of the year, after the one on July 2nd) augurs major turbulence in the Earth's crust, seas and atmosphere around mid-month. That's bound to be one of the big stories for December. The end of the month, under the aegis of the high-declination full moon on the 26th, is likewise more or less certain to see an upsurge in strong storms and notable seismic activity. These two notable geophysical stress windows aside, there's a lot more to December that storms, earthquakes and the like. The whole month pretty much falls within Mercury's intersolar cycle, including the Mercury retrograde which ends on the 20th: watch for news of the wacky, mixed up, screwed up and confused to make December look like a month dedicated to Murphy's Law. (Mail those Christmas gifts early, folks!) Not as long lasting, but still quite noticeable, are the Venus-Mars conjunction early in the month (very sexy and creative), the Sun-Pluto conjunction on the 12th (skeletons outed from closets, profits taken in the markets), and the Mars-Uranus square on the 31st (explosive, agitated).

Mercury's intersolar cycle, in which the little Sun-grazer is on the same side of Sol as the Earth, sets the stage for December as a whole. It's a phase that began November 21, when Mercury reached its maximum elongation east of the Sun; and continues until December 29, when Mercury attains its maximum westward arc from the Sun. This includes the legendary Mercury retrograde period of astrological tradition, which in this case began November 30 and continues until December 20. Commerce, communication, transport and all things mental are in the crosshairs during this period, and whatever can go wrong with them probably will. Delays in shipping, lost or misdirected goods and messages, transportation tie-ups and mishaps (including crashes, sinkings, derailings and the like): they're all par for the course. Whoever plans on and around such snafus will come out ahead, so take nothing for granted, follow up on everything, and have a Plan B ready before you set Plan A in motion. Don't assume that people get the message or understand the concept the first time around: tell 'em what you're gonna tell 'em, then tell 'em, then tell 'em what you told 'em. While virtually all of December reverberates with these themes, they may be especially prominent on or about a few key dates: the 10th, when Mercury aligns with the Sun; the 20th, when Mercury's retrograde ends with the little planet's direct station, and the 29th, when Mercury comes to its maximum elongation west of the Sun.

It's good to bear in mind that there is a plus side of intersolar Mercury. It's a time of mysteries solved and problems fixed, by people who don't take things at face value. If you're willing to furrow your brow, focus your gaze and apply yourself, then this is a good time to take inventory, get to the bottom of things, find what's lost and fix up messes. Heaven knows, there's plenty of material to work with at times like this...cont'd

2. Do you know anything about him?
He's been doing these free yearly and monthly astro-reports for some time. Mainly he seems to focus on weather events and the economic conditions which are pretty darn accurate. And I hate to admit his recent call of a Bush win was accurate too (see the Nov. report). I respect his astrology work for the most part, but seems very much entrenched in the Libertarian mindset (with a bend to the right) which is often all too evident in his reports.

4. Dover thanks for posting his reports - Richard Nolle is
pretty well known in the astrological community.

We couldn't believe his prediction of dimson, but he was right.
Seems to be one of the best in predictive astrology, no?

5. It would seem so...at least in the subjects he covers. But I've never

seen his personal chart interpretations and as far as I'm concerned, he doesn't come close to the psychological depths of someone like Liz Greene. In fact even Liz's work in more mundane predictive work (as in her book The Outer Planets) is also quite good, though she doesn't do it often. She saw the fall of the Soviet Union when others couldn't even concieve of it. I wish she had tackled this past election...I'd love to have seen her interpretations.

But I suppose every professional astrologer has their area of expertise.

6. Nolle wrote a book on Chiron which I find indispensable....
Clow is pretty thick reading, Reinhart is much better...but Nolle's book is very direct and clear. It's my favorite book to use when mulling over Chiron.

7. Thanks, Dover.
Looks like some stormy weather in store, according to Nolle. I enjoy reading his monthly assessment. I didn't realize he predicted a win for Bush. (I was too busy reading Vedic predictions).

The only western astrologer that I was aware of that predicted a Bush win was Michael Wolfstar.

8. Well, I had said that it looked like the Dec. electoral votes might be odd
Edited on Wed Dec-08-04 03:43 PM by Dover
this year (astrologically speaking). It certainly seemed funky when I looked into it this past summer. I had thought at the time that perhaps it meant that Kerry might win the Nov. 2 election but it would be overturned by the electoral counts (thinking the GOP would 'buy off' the electoral vote instead). But the reverse may, in fact, be happening. It now looks like there may be a delay in the electoral count due to questions raised about voting fraud. Those of you who watched the House panel on the Ohio vote aired by CSPAN today probably heard that from Conyers.

And interestingly enough it aligns with the mid-December Supermoon that Nolle is mentioning in this article, which happens to conjunct the transiting Sun/Pluto conj that will be opposing the US chart's 7th house Mars (and loosely sets off its natal square to Neptune).

By far the biggest risk of storm and seismic upheaval this month is the period from December 9 through the 14th. And easily the biggest indicator along these lines is the SuperMoon at 20 Sagittarius on the 12th. SuperMoon is a word I coined in my 1979 article in Dell's HOROSCOPE magazine, to refer to what is technically termed a perigee-syzygy: a new or full moon (syzygy) that occurs when the Moon is at or very near (in the 90th percentile or higher) its perigee (closest approach to Earth). (In addition, the Moon's maximum south declination on the 13th plays a part in the turbulence around December 12.) Regulars know what to expect: unusually high tides, strong storms with high winds and heavy precipitation (in some cases causing floods or mudslides), and moderate to severe seismic activity (including Richter 5+ earthquakes and volcanic eruptions).

Here's what I originally posted about the Dec. 13 Electoral Vote transits. >>>

DEC. 13th....the day the electoral votes are counted

Edited on Thu Aug-05-04 08:10 AM by Dover

I'm wondering if there won't be something screwy regarding the electoral votes. I don't know what the problem could be, but my antenna went up this morning as I read the story about the Republicans NOT releasing the names of their delegates (the Dems have already released theirs). While the Republicans are citing security concerns (of course)as an excuse for not providing a list of delegates, this is still highly unusual (not even sure it's legal) and I think irregularities like this should be noted.
http://www.theledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/200...

Most of the time, electors cast their votes for the candidate who has received the most votes in that particular state. However, there have been times when electors have voted contrary to the people's decision, which is entirely legal.

The U.S. chart has some interesting transits on Dec. 13th.

* The Transiting Sun and Pluto are conjunct in opposition to natal Mars and square natal Neptune.
* Transiting Juptier is Conjunct natal Saturn
* Transiting Saturn conj. the progressed North Node
* Mercury is retrograde in Sagitarrius and will be crossing the Asc.
