What metaphysical tools do you use to assist you with anger management? |
|
Before anyone makes any assumptions, I don't have a problem not expressing my anger. But I still have a problem not feeling extremely angry reactions to injustices like mass misogyny, racism, bigotry, oppression and other assholishness. What do my Astro forum comrades do if they experiences similar reactions?

1. if you have some spare ~$150 |

you might look into Journey to Wild Divine. It's sort of a meditation aid in the guise of a video game. It has helped me to maintain calm in the face of anger-inducing situations before. I must say I found it to be a bit of a mixed bag as far as content goes, however. In particular I thought the acting and music were inconsistent: some of it annoyed the hell out of me, some was quite beautiful. The high price is largely due to the specialized hardware required, which seems possibley overpriced to me, but then again when I consider how big the market might be for such a product, the price might be reasonable.

2. the knowledge the *everything* is/derives from god |

and also not being attached to my own personality/ego structures. realizing that those things are the 'shadow' part of my own/humanity's psyche and work to integrate them (have you ever wondered why so many DU'ers are FASCINATED and make frequent trips to Free Republic?).
Also do what I can to counter those things in the world.
And sometimes I just throw things. That helps too

8. Thanks for the welcome! This seems like a neat group, and I see some |
|
similarities between it and the Seekers on Unique Paths group ( http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=292 ), which I hang out on from time to time. I like the idea of being open to what's out there. :hi: wildflower

7. Blue Iris, I think it's probably good that you don't allow yourself |
|
to get angry about injustice. It adds negative energy to the whole. You probably feel sorrow or compassion for those who are in bad situations, and that's helpful for you as well as the aggrieved ones. And sending light and love to those who are in need is a wonderful thing.
