Is yoga healing...?
Going through a rough patch--just wondering if yoga may be helpful?

Thanks.

1. Sending light and positive thought =)
Hang in there. I don't know much about yoga, but it probably can't hurt.

5. David Carradine's tai chi video is very short, simple and so powerful
I found David Carradine's video at the library. Believe me, I did NOT want to like this tape! I checked it with a "what the hell, this is free and might be funny" attitude.

So easy and short. So powerful that I was stunned. Never had done tai chi before. Did this 3 days in a row and I was like a different person. I know, I know... David Carradine??? But he's really good. And his teacher is in the video too, so you can watch him too.

But I can't recommend this 30-minute tape highly enough, especially when you're stressed or worried about thing beyond your control. Dirt simple, short.

10. It's so funny--
I read this post and then while channel surfing--I saw a listing on the tv guide for David Carradine's Tai Chi!! I'm not kidding!

I turned to the channel, and it seemed to be a program featuring he and the video--an infomercial of sorts. Unfortunately, the program was on a small, independent channel so the sound and picture were pretty bad.

But I'll be looking at my local library for this tape--I must be meant to try it--go figure! LOL!

3. In my experience, it depends
Edited on Thu Jan-26-06 01:21 PM by oxbow
it's like asking if garlic is good for you. The answer is yes, but more so if you are fighting infection, or have a weak immune system, etc. In my experience yoga is good for helping you get more in your body (among other things). I guess you just have to give it a whirl and tell us how it does.

4. Yes.
I've done yoga off and on over the years. I was going through a rough patch too one time and hadn't done yoga in a while. With much effort (you know how hard is to do anything when you're depressed) I went to a yoga class and afterwords did a complete turnaround. I felt so much better mentally, emotionally, and physically. It certainly can't hurt.

6. Yes, very healing.. I'm a Kundalini yoga teacher
that is the style that works for me but my husband does Hatha and has no patience kundalini at all. Plenty of styles and teachers out there. It only works if you do it. Find something you like and try it. pm me if you want more info. Yoga is great for rough patches in my experience.
Love and light,
Melissa
