Update!! The Abuser was suspended last night.
Looks like my abusive ex-boss's ability to hurt other women may be coming to a close.

I got a call today letting me know that my former abuser has been suspended without pay. The keys to the offices have been changed, and he's forbidden by law to set foot on the property again.

He has the legal right to appeal, but the expectation is that he'd rather avoid the publicity of a public lawsuit. The State's Attorney's office is still charged with representing those of us who filed complaints on the man, and it looks like they will continue to press it.

It is a HUGE improvement to get him out of that office. The next fight is to get counseling for the women that have been forced to deal with him...

Justice does sometimes come to call when we hope for it to, I guess.

Thanks for the light and support, gang.

1. Glad to see this nightmare is over
It's amazing how timid these people become when subject to the hot glare of public scrutiny.

This happened in part because you did your part to stop him. Kudos to you!

8. I am relieved your ordeal is almost over
I am sorry you had to suffer so much, but at the same time relieved and gratified you are able to see justice take it's course. You went through hell, and he is now going to account for what he has wrought.
Take good care of yourself, it is time to heal now.

I want to say congratulations but it sounds wrong, so I'm hoping that the part of your life that included him is concluded. I hope you have a peaceful work life now. It seems as if you guys really suffered under him.

10. There was a sort of "celebration."
A group of us met yesterday afternoon and we did celebrate his departure. I'll admit freely we drank a lot of beer and got loud. This marks the end of a very long unhappy period for many people. Yesterday was cathartic.

My husband was there with me as my designated driver, and Material Girl was with the Grandparents. The other two women who stood up were there as well. It was a time to let some of the tension and anger go.

We all talked about what we'd been thru, and the impact it has had on us individually. We also expressed the anger we still carry (Boy howdy, was that a pissed off group of people!) and we talked about the future.

We have a large pizza and soda party planned for Monday or the full office staff. It may sound awful to "celebrate" this, but this has been very long in coming. It has been painful but I do think most of us will be able to heal with time, a little support and help.

Thanks.
