Telepathy with Animals
Let's discuss how we "talk" to our animals using our psychic gifts.

I've been running a communication experiment with my cats using telepathy. Last night I had an incident that even jolted me and I'm a believer! But first let me tell you a bit about why I decided to play around with this.

Last year about this time, my brother was visiting me. He, too, is a cat lover and we were watching my two kitties sitting quietly together. My brother remarked that when they sit there together like that, he believed they were having a "conversation." He said he didn't know how they did it but that's what they were doing.

That thought never left me. Of course it occurred to me that they were using telepathy to communicate with each other.

Soon I started noticing there was communication between my two cats about certain things, mostly territorial issues. My cats trade off territory. It is amazing how, when they do it, one is at the door and the other is on her way out to go patrol the "territory." One being at the door while the other is waiting to go out has happened to many times and too consistently for it to be just chance.

One week they decided they would sleep with each other on the LR couches instead of one of them on the bed with us and the other in the study. However, one evening, one settled in with me in the office instead of going to the couch. Only five minutes later, the other one came in and smacked her about the ears. She appeared to be saying something like, "You're supposed to be sleeping with me!" The errant kitty quickly hopped off the couch in the study and went to where she was supposed to be sleeping.

I have been practicing calling them by telepathy. It works a lot of the time but sometimes it doesn't (I would say 75% of the time it works). Last night I fell asleep in my computer chair by the window. The kitties hop up on the window box to let me know they want in.

Anyway, as I was saying, I had fallen asleep and awakened enough to know I wanted to sleep in a bed and not a chair. Uh oh--can't go to bed--a kitty is still outside. So I visualized myself as a vacuum cleaner, sucking up any kitties who were outside. I visualized the hose of the cleaner going out the window. Whoosh! A kitty jumped up on the windowbox. You should have seen her! Her ears were back and so were her whiskers! It was like she was being sucked in the giant vacuum cleaner!

1. What a great idea for a thread, Cher.
I don't have pets, so I really don't have anything to add except to say that I'm anxiously awaiting what others might say in reference to this subject.

2. I think this is an excellent idea for a thread!

I, too, have had some telepathic experiences with cats.

My Pushka, who I had for nearly 18 years, and I would often communicate this way. I would suddenly think to myself, for instance, that I hadn't seen her for a while, and then I would look down, and there she would be coming toward me.

At one point, I had taken in a cocker spaniel rescue that my sister could not control (as it turned out, I could not either...it was very sad). Anyway, Pushka was not happy about this new addition to our home, and, one day, I was bending down and petting her and I distinctly heard, "Why was I not enough for you?". I also felt a great deal of sadness emanating from her.

She is no longer with me (except in spirit), but I now have two young male cats.

After reading your post, I decided to try calling Spidey telepathically. He came to me a few minutes later.

I am going to board them in a few weeks for a week, and I have been worrying about how they will be for that long. The place where I board them is wonderful, as they are not caged, but are, instead, in a fairly good-sized room with cat toys and a climbing tree and there is a very attentive staff. So, I know they will be all right, but, I am thinking that, if I can "talk" to them telepathically while I am away, I might be able to reassure them that I will come back and get them.

Thank you for posting this, Cher!

3. I believe it ...
... HippieDog Hank and I have been together since he was a puppy, and we "know" what each other are thinking/needing/meaning merely by looking at each other. Sometimes if he's not feeling well, I will wake up out of a sound sleep knowing that he needs to be let outside (he tries really hard not to be sick inside the house). Since his trauma the other night, though, he's very sedated/medicated and there's not alot coming across between us.

He and Ray LaBeagle are learning to read each other. Sometimes when I watch the 2 of them, it's like Ray picks up on an invisible signal Hank sends and he'll literally look where Hank is looking, take on the same posture as Hank, etc.

4. That's hilarious! And, I think they are definitely telepathic!
Years ago my pet poodle, "Baby",(and, NO, no I did not name the dog!:9) was kidnapped.

Yes, kidnapped!

I was headed to the park for a run. As I got her ready to go, she acted as if she did not want to come along. She did not bounce around and get all excited but instead refused to get in the car.
When we arrived at the park she refused to get out of the car. I thought this was very odd, of course. But, I picked her up and carried her down to the jogging trail. She sat down and refused to move. I was determined to get my mile in so, I left her tied to a post and figured I'd just go down and back quickly, knowing I could still see her for most of the way. (Not a good idea at all!)

When I came back ten minutes later she was gone. So, I asked some folks and they told me that an older women and a man had taken her. I was just sick, and posted missing signs all around. Several days later I got an anonymous call from a women who told me that she knew who had my dog.
She gave me directions to the women's house and I headed over there with my sister and a friend.
We could see our Baby through the door! The women was reluctant to return her but, finally relented. It turns out that she and her adult son were a bit odd, and "done this with a lot of animals" according to the anonymous caller.

Looking back on Babies behavior I have no doubt that she knew something bad was about to happen!
But, luckily there was a happy ending.

don't you? It just takes going through something like that once to understand that animals sometimes know better than we do.

That's such a great story because it has a happy ending! :)

6. I dunno how to discribe it
It's like I know what they mean. Bird, cat whatever..I know.
How they know what I mean? I dunno either they just do.

My cat rustle loves to play in his litter. Sometimes he gleefuly digs..one morning he was digging away and I began to get irritated with it because I was trying to sleep... I joked to my partner, what is he doing in there ?digging a hole to china? I felt a wave of embarassment from the direction of where the boxes are and a feeling of apology, rustle stopped digging and I heard him jump out of the box. I felt the other cat sparkle"ribbing " him about it. Rustle than chased Sparkle up the stairs and they were wrasslin in a play way.

I don't have a clue how I know everytime which cat is the guilty party that knocked over things while we are gone,or who lost the hairball on the rug and missed the tile. Sometimes if you ask they understand and they;ll say so. It's true they know, they really do understand.Cats are so very emotional and they bond so deeply to all of us in our little pride.

A little starling fell out of our cedar tree a few years ago. He was still in tail pins. I picked him up to make sure he was ok,and saw his leg was broken. I have worked with a vet and done wildlife rehab. So I set his leg.He screamed as I set it poor baby, and afterwards I cuddled him and he collapsed against my chest.I called him Rodan after the bird from Godzilla movies.Well long story short he grew up to be a fine loud, handsome starling with an unforgettable personality. With a leg bump.
Wghen he was flight trained ,taught to bathe,to forage and fully and weaned,I asked him if he wanted to stay with us or be with his freinds outside. I would let him out and in at night for a few days as he made up his mind..It was cute, when he came in during the day, 6 or seven birds waited outside on the porch for him.Anyways as a chick he found out humans find bird poop gross. We don't like sticking our hands in it. We clean it up.This made an impression on Rodan. After he went wild,
For a year NO birds pooped on our car at all!We get very little poop on it even to this day , this is trange compared to the neighbors cars and our yard is full of birds. Go figure.

22. Love your story about the baby starling. Every time I hang my laundry
on the clothesline, I say, "Thank you birdies for not pooping on my laundry." I told my sister that whenever she hangs out the wash, she needs to thank the birds in advance for not shitting on the sheets. She told me I was crazy, but the only time we ever have birdie poop on our laundry is when my sister hangs out the wash.

7. Cats and dogs.
My cat and I seem to know what the other is thinking.

I keep an eye on my daughter's dogs during the day while she and her husband are at work. One dog is still a pup and has to be confined to a dog yard. The older one is allowed to roam free on the property.

She sometimes wants me to do things for her and comes to my door with that look like she needs something. She gets her point across without talking to me. Before they got the new dog, they used to leave the radio on for her to listen to while they were gone.

One day she came to my door and immediately the thought entered my head that the radio had been left off. So I went down to her house and sure enough the radio wasn't on. I turned it on for her and she was fine. That's what she wanted.

9. This is really a fun subject
My mom tried to post the experiment Rupert Sheldrake is conducting right now, so you may all want to check it out. She is not a donor and can not post here, so I will just post the link.

I tend to think, that I do communicate with animals, and I feel they know I want it, too, and try to communicate to me. Whether I pick it up correctly I don't know. They tend to come to me, dogs, cats, horses & other critters we encounter in life.
I have lived all my life with dogs, but have random animal experiences also. Animals are my soft spot, I don't even remember how many strays I picked up and found a home for when I was a child. I even climbed down into a canal to rescue a small black kitten which was stranded by itself on a small dirt island. I brought it home, and we already had several dogs and it was not well received. My Dad was not fond of cats, and this kitten would always find the largest lap to cuddle, yes, my Dad's. He tolerated it for quite some time, but I had to find it a home.

My dogs, "know" when I am only "thinking" that I would probably have to hop over to the supermarket. I would stand in the kitchen, with an eye on television thinking : "supermarket", I look over to the Newfoundland lying in the hallway and he gets up on his feet excitedly, wagging his tail "Can I come?" The Briard excitedly starts running around waiting for my one word: "Ok", then the jumping up & down to wards the entrance starts.
On days I don't have to go, they sometimes start this as an invitation, "Come on, let's go for a ride".

When my daughter was taking riding lessons, the teacher decided to get her students to participate in a small competition. The arena belonged to her niece, and I did not know any of her horses, other than having said hi to them. The teacher had turned out several horses into the arena (running around free) before they started, and I was readying my daughter's assigned horse. Some of the rider kids came to me and said the teacher wants me in the arena to help her, she is having problems with "Rose". When I got there she asked me to get Rose and disappeared. "Rose" was way on the other end of this arena, and my daughter said, "Mom" how are we gonna do that? I told her, "how should I know". I walked up a little distance to wards her so I don't spook her and I stood there. She turned her head and looked at me standing, so I yelled "Rose, let's go" and she started walking to wards me and just came to me. I don't know if I hit the magic word or what, but it worked.
The same day, a horse I do know well was assigned to another kid. He in fact told me that he is thirsty, as I was passing by. This kid had dismounted and tied him up after having ridden him and just left him there. He started pawing when he saw me, so I grabbed a bucket, filled it with water and yelled to the kids, if anyone is going to ride him again, one kid just said, "I don't know" and ran off.

There are quite a few other stories, but what I believe is that we all can communicate, and probably even "feel" what they tell us, we just may have to re-learn to receive their thoughts. They know what we think, we are the ones, who can not feel their thoughts, but we can always try to improve.

10. Interesting topic--
Edited on Sat Apr-01-06 11:44 PM by bliss_eternal
in college, some called me a witch because of a community cat that only seemed to go to me.

It was the sweetest black cat that started hanging out in college housing. I named her, and she frequently walked to me, let me pet her, followed me home, etc.

One day, she and I were hanging out, and I realized someone was watching us. I looked up and a resident was staring at me and the cat. He said, "...I've tried to pet that cat and feed it--it always runs away or hisses at me."

My response, "Who--Vanity? She always talks to me--see" and I proceeded to pet her and she rolled over, letting me rub her tummy. The guy looked so freaked out. I found out later he was instrumental in spreading a rumour I was a witch. :eye: whatever the hell that meant.

I always seemed able to 'bond' with animals, that didn't really take to most people--particularly cats. I'm not sure why...

I don't have any pets,:( I'm allergic. At some point, I hope to get a dog. We found out about a breed that I can probably tolerate w/my allergies.

11. I have had a similar experience with a friend's cat
This male cat, who is a very beautiful cat, had the habit of hiding upstairs whenever anyone came to his home.

I came to the home one time (long story), and this little guy not only did not run up the stairs, but he also stayed by my legs with big purrs and wanting as much loving petting as I could give him as long as I was there.

My friend, who owned the home (the cat was her daughter's) was quite taken aback at the display of affection from this little guy.

I tend to think that cats know when a person is real when it comes to liking them and also being safe for them.

14. Our dogs
Edited on Sun Apr-02-06 01:43 AM by rumpel
we do not "socialize" them as much as they should be, recently I am unfortunately preoccupied with more pressing matters.

But our dogs in our recent past, (all of them gone now) I observed them, when our groomer at the time wanted us to participate in a local doggie parade, with the silly outfits and such.
Anyway, we were there and at the time we had 3 dogs, a Dachsie, a Briard and an Afghan, they got their outfits (one change of outfits) and we were hanging out on the street. Our dogs would growl or kind of threaten certain people and other strangers and dogs, (to us it seemed "out of the blue") and they would be perfectly fine with the majority of the people and pets out that day. (Not our "Old Mama" the Afghan, she just loved everything and everybody)
So, we figured they must have their instinctive likes and dislikes, too, like we do. Something that does not fit their own energies? I don't know.
But, I never had dogs that did not like kids from the outset, if they treated them with maybe disrespect, in their view, they would first ignore, as if they knew the kids don't know any better, or they would just disappear to another room, remove themselves from the situation.
I wish we had the same ability to discern people, who intend us harm for their own sole advantage, and people who are real.
I also notice with our dogs, there are visitors we have, they just don't want to accept but merely tolerate because we tell the them to.
If we would listen to our pets, maybe there never was a bush administration. Nah, just kidding.

Maybe, animals know, who has love energy towards animals, and are attracted to it?

Sometimes, I wish I was one of the scientists trying to decipher whale talk or dolphin communiaction and such. Would it not be wonderful, talking to another species? Maybe in my next life...

17. I think cats and dogs (all animals, really) are more in tune with instinct
Some stuff with cats and dogs is really a matter of knowing the usual behaviors of the animals. For instance--cats will often interpret a direct look as aggressive.

Cats with other cats see direct eye contact as a precursor of attack. As a result, they are more comfortable with people who don't look directly at them for too long, or even avoid eye contact completely. People who are allergic to cats frequently don't let their eyes linger on cats for too long, and as a result, a lot of cats actually are more comfortable with the strangers who are allergic to them.

We cat lovers like to look at cats and sometimes we freak them out by looking too long at them. My favorite trick when meeting a new cat is too look at them long enough for them to see me looking, then I will break eye contact by slowly closing my eyes and turning my head away while my eyes are closed--just like a lazy cat laying in the sun will do with people or other cats they trust.

Similarly, if anybody who is allergic to cats comes to my house I tell them to be sure and stare at Chaucer for a bit. He will leave them alone after that.

Dogs will exhibit similar types of behaviors. However, in a pack setting, the rules are a bit different depending on your dog's social role in the pack. (It pays very real dividends to know your dog, I guess...)

Having said all that, I will say that I have always felt that our companion animals are much closer and more in touch with the instinctual messages than we humans are. Maybe it is because they are less removed from the feral state than we humans are--I dunno. They have only been domesticated for a few thousand years, as opposed to us humans.

I have had any number of times with my animal companions over the years where they'd respond to someone in a way that puzzled me--but I have always had to respect it. I figure that for them, it IS a survival thing and mine is not to question it.

One of the most striking times of animals responding for no evident reason that I have experienced was with my black Lab several years ago. She was just a big sweetie--loved everybody. I took her everywhere with me and that dog never exhibited aggression toward people or other animals. She was every bit of the classic Lab--a big old gooney dog that bounced everywhere. She loved everyone she met and she wanted to please.

One day when she was just under 18 months old, I had her out at a lake in one of the local parks. I'd been water training her. She LOVED water. Anyhow, it was a weekday and we had the park pretty much to ourselves.

I had just put her lead back on and we were going to walk a bit to dry her off before getting back in the car (eeew--gotta love a wet dog on your car seats!) This guy appears out of nowhere and starts toward us. My Lab was instantly at the end of the lead with her neck hair standing up and her lips pulled back. She was not just growling, but actually crouched to spring while snarling.

I had NEVER seen her act that way, and what was really freaky about it was she was determined to stay between that man and me. She was in full defensive mode, and she was literally acting like it was a fight situation.

They guy walked up to a few feet away and says, "Does that dog bite?" I looked at her snarling away at the man and said, "Well, it sure looks like she wants to. I'd suggest you probably want to give us a lot of distance, I'd hate to have to pull her off you."

He kept on walking, and that poor dog literally stayed out at the end of that lead--going in a slow circle just to see where that guy went. She did not calm down until he was out of sight and long gone.

I have no idea what it was about that guy that set her off, but I never questioned it. If she was that freaked by him there was a reason for it--either his smell or some sixth sense--but that dog kept me safe that day. I have never doubted it. After that day, she never showed that kind of aggression with any other person in all the places I took her.

I DO thinks animals know, and I do think we can communicate with them if we want to.

15. birds
Underground Panther's story about the bird reminded me of a cat who used to live with me who liked catching birds, and would leave their little bodies for me to find. The first time this happened, I was grossed out, and put the bird under a bush rather than fully disposing of it. The birds would fly by, and stop and look. Then they would go and poop on my windshield.

18. bird story
How I am enjoying all the stories on this thread! This is a keeper!

Speaking of birds, though, yellowdawgdem's story reminds me of when my first cat caught a bird. The poor little thing was alive and I called the animal control unit for our town and asked the officer to come over. By the time she arrived, I was crying my eyes out over the little bird, who had been injured by Mitzi's deadly fangs. The officer told me about the Raptor Center so I jumped in my car with the little bird in a shoebox and raced over there, trying to save it.

As it turns out, they took care of the little starling and she lived to fly another day.

When I returned home, my Mitzi was waiting. She had watched the entire episode with the animal control officer and her prized bird being transported off in a shoebox. I gave her a little lecture and said, "From now on, if you hunt birds you 'gum it." Got it?" Then I mimicked "gumming it." Of course, everyone I told that story to laughed their heads off, thinking it was a joke. But it really wasn't a joke; I was serious. I knew I couldn't keep this cat indoors 100% of the time and there were bound to be other birds. From then on, however, I kept her indoors in the early morning hours because that is when birds are the most vulnerable.

Eventually one day she caught another bird. She brought it to me and I again raced it to the Raptor Center. This time, however, the Raptor Center said there were no puncture marks. They almost didn't believe me when I said my cat caught the bird. The intake people did admonish me that the puncture wounds might be so small they couldn't find them. They said they'd keep the bird a few days to see what developed. A phone call a few days later revealed that the little bird was fine and was ready to be released from captivity. They had discovered no puncture wounds and were quite mystified as to how this could happen.

Now I don't need to tell you that it sure could be coincidence but I will forever wonder if she hadn't been "gumming it" with birds from then on. How a cat might do that, I don't know but it is something I'll never forget.

23. OK everyone, with which creatures do you connect with their
telepathy most? I don't seem to pick up anything with cats. For me it's with dogs, birds and insects the most.

While in college, I took an entomology course and had an experience I will never forget.

We were required to make our own insect collections using ether jars to kill the insects without pain. Then, as is typically done, we mounted and labeled them in boxes. We did many specimens.

One day, I collected a praying mantis and a mantis 'egg' for mounting. After putting them to sleep for several hours in the ether jar, I mounted them side-by-side on pins in my specimen box. They were mounted ~ an inch apart. The next morning when I awoke I was astonished to discover that the mother was clutching her 'egg'. She was not alive when I found her in this position. But, she must have been anesthetized only temporarily and then reached out to pull her 'egg' in and hold it to her tummy.

This experience had a profound effect on me. It lead me to connect with insects in a much more spiritual way. Funny what you learn (LOL! ) in college!

24. Any animal pretty much
But Cats, I seem like I am on a constant connection with them.

A weird thing that happens..with me and cat spirits..
Before I pass by a cat that is dead on the road I know. Even before I know there is anything there, or see that a cat was hit I know it was a cat. I get a seizing pain in my chest and cry my eyes out for about ten minutes. It's involuntary.I give them love, send them to Sekhmet and tell Sekhmet to take them to wherever they should or want to go to..Often I see their spirit standing by the road as I pass by even before I notice the body.I can see cat spirits, literally, they look like they did in life in spirit form. They respond to you too. They will walk twords you,or silent miaow or attempt to snif..Than right before you can touch them, they fade away. I have been fooled several tim,es thinking I was reaching to pet a living cat,to find it was spirit when it faded like that. I have also seen cat spirits in the form of flying little glowing lights too.I have seen a cat spirits fade away and become a ball of light(that was very unforgettably cool).I have gotten messages from cat spirits and warnings that have saved my ass. No kidding. And sometimes these messages come from cat spirits that I saw on the road before that I sent to Sekhmet's care..I must have some cat spirits looking out for me in the I think. Cat spirits are real and they are my friends just like all cats are ,be they big or little,I love them all..Other animals I have strong affinities with too, like birds.. but cats by far are so on with me because they are so much like my own spirit.

25. connections with cats
I am very impressed with what you wrote, undergroundpanther, and I am sure I will be thinking about it for days. Your psychic connection with cats sounds very intense. Thank heavens I rarely encounter a cat killed on the road. I know I would cry my eyes out if I did.

I have, however, had many, many experiences with my first cat, Mitzi, who died about three years ago. I absolutely understand and believe what you are saying. The messages imparted to me by Mitzi are very wise. They are not at all characteristic of what we think of as animal-level thought. This is what completely blew me away when I first started experiencing her messages. The wisdom was like something we would imagine or expect from a very advanced soul that had crossed over.

These experiences are so unique and special. I have at times thought about writing them up as a short book because they show that our animals continue with us on another plane. The problem is that I really cannot think about it much because I dissolve into tears. It's just too painful, still.

But maybe someday.

I'm so glad you wrote this post, undergroundpanther. I really needed to know someone else out there experiences connections with cats intensely, too. This has such meaning for me.

p.s. what a perfect graphic

30. We have had "ghost kitties" in the past.
Absolutely freaked my husband out. I had been telling him about our extra cats, and he kind of just nodded and said, "Sure, Hon, whatever you say..." (He embraces the religion of science, you see...) Anyhow, we had a couple of extra kitties in the house that really were not of this world any more, and they were not shy at all. I'd see and hear them pretty regularly.

One morning, hubby was in the house alone with our living cats in bed with him. He woke up hearing a cat fussing in the next room and realized that all of our regular cats were in the bed with him. When he walked out into the living room he saw a cat sitting on top of the cat tree just meowing away. He actually thought I'd let a strange cat in the house with our brood, and looked for our guys again to make sure to keep them separated from the "interloper." All three were still asleep. When he walked toward the cat tree the other cat vanished.

That single experience converted him. He now does believe that we have ghost kitties visiting sometimes.

We have moved, and those particular visitor kitties did not move with us. We do have the occasional spotting of a "strange" cat running around--out of the corner of the eye--but nowhere near the level of activity that we used to.

Odd thing, hubby got up the other morning and said he'd dreamed that I had adopted a few cats and not told him about it. He said he dreamed that he was walking thru the house and spotted a few cats that were not ours. I'm wondering if maybe he's now picking up vibes from visitors that I haven't noticed yet.

I had always assumed that everyone had "ghost pets" at one time or another. I had also figured that not everyone actually realized they had those visitors. I think a lot of people are not willing to see them.

31. I think I have one.
I lost a cat about three years ago. Now I occasionally have a kitty jump on the bed and when I look there is no cat there and my cat Benny is sleeping in his little bed next to mine. (He divides his sleep time between my bed and his.)

Also, I have felt a kitty lying on the couch next to me and when I go to pet it thinking it's Benny I look up and Benny is sleeping in the rocking chair. I think it's my kitty who died a few years back. He always joined me on the couch when I watched television.

33. paw prints
After my cat Mitzi died a few years ago, I was lying on our bed thinking of her and I felt her presence. But imagine my surprise when I saw paw indentations as she walked across the bed toward me! It was a sheet that had a plaid, and therefore gridlike pattern, brown on white. I still can see it in my mind to this day.

After that, I heard her purring.

One morning I woke up and there was "surround-sound" purring. It was so loud that it actually made me laugh out loud. I interpreted it as her way of telling me that she was happy and content.

34. Wow. I've never had anything that graphic!
Most of my pets have come to me in a dream after they die. They usually are in very nice surroundings like a beautiful house or garden. I believe they are letting me know they are happy. These dreams are only once and they are very real unlike my usual dreams.

36. dream where a cat came to me
I had a dream where a cat told me he was OK on the other side, too.

It was my brother's cat Pudentain; Pud, for short. I loved Pud like my own cat. In fact, a year after Mitzi died and I was having a time getting through the one-year anniversary of her death, Pud consoled me all night long. He would brush my tears away with his paw and he even brushed my wet hair back and stayed up with me and purred his head off. I thought it was so sweet and as a result, we had a bond.

Imagine my surprise when a year later, he himself died. My brother found his body on a rock There was no indication whatsoever of how he died.

I was very upset but that night I had the most marvelous dream. The dream dispelled the grief I was feeling.

In my dream he showed how pleased he was with his new circumstances. He was happy and excited and wanted to show me his new place. He also told me explicitly that I was to convey the message that he was OK to my brother and my mother, too. He was reaching them through me.

I got the full tour and what was really funny is that it was all from the point of view of a cat. I saw everything from 8-inches off the ground. Life looks real different from that angle! He had been taken in the moment he passed over and he told me that his new human had known he was coming and had prepared her home for him. As we toured the house, we would walk behind his new human and I could see the backs of her shoes. They were the kind where the sole goes up the back and ends in a tab. They were loafers.

What I remember especially about the tour is the peculiar colors of the house. It was a huge ranch-style house and Pud said he wasn't into going outdoors for the time being. He was just happy to be in this big house. The funny color was a sort of off-red and it contrasted with a reddish type of wood that was found throughout. It was a color found on the counters and some accent pieces in the home.

There was a spot he especially like to sit in, which was a Tudor window that had Priscilla curtains hanging from it. The sun hit the floor in a diamond-pattern and he showed me how he loved to lie in the warmth of the sun.

He let me experience the feelings he had for his new human and with that, I was completely resolved of any grief I felt over his passing because I knew how happy he was.

I learned that Pud had very strong feelings for my mother but my mother had not really talked to me about how close she was to him. I only learned this (verified it) after his death. It took my mom a long time to get over his passing.

I told my brother this story, but I haven't yet told my mom. I don't know how well received it will be. She is religious Christian and I'm not and over the years we've had our differences. That's the only reason I haven't told her about it.

35. Now that is truly amazing. Some of my cats have visited me after
their deaths, but I only feel their presence on my bed. Never have I actually seen their footprints. That is fantastic!!!

27. I have a strong bond with my cat, Tiny. We
Edited on Mon Apr-03-06 09:11 AM by japple
often have moments when we stare into each others' eyes--very much like two lovers. He lies on my chest while I'm in bed and purrs his heart out. I've never had this intensity with another cat, although I'm generally attracted psychically to all cats. Edit to add: Whenever he's outside and wants to come in, I know he's there. This always mystified my husband and he frequently asked, "how do you know he's there?" I always answered, "I just do."

Whenever I'm driving and see a dead animal, I envision myself cuddling the little body and comforting it, then sending it on to paradise with a blessing. Sounds similar to what undergroundpanther described above. I think when animals get killed by cars or in other accidents, they're just like people and don't know what happened to them, so they need an angel to help them along.

I read a wonderful book many years ago, and can't find it in print anywhere, although I've found books with similar titles on the subject. It was called (I think)People Who Talk With Animals, and it had some of the most wonderful stories about people who can communicate with all forms of life. There was one story about someone who had a family of giant hissing cockroaches (from Madagascar? or some other exotic locale). They were kept in a habitat and the storyteller had named and had telepathic connection with each one. It was actually a very sweet story. Wish I could find that book again.

28. I believe totally that we can and do communicate with our animals.......
....telepathically. I've done it myself and my animals have done it to me, especially when they want something that mere meows aren't getting across. So I totally understand and believe what you're saying.

32. I have a very strong psychic connection to my horses.
I have a mare that I have owned since '93. I got her as a weanling so I have been through the breaking and training
process with her and am very close to her in every way. I know that she prefers chestnut stallions and that she
wishes I would visit more often. (She boards in KY now) She knows that I am proud of her and she appreciates that I
make sure she is well cared for. When she first went away from the track to be bred, she was turned out at the farm
in KY with a big group of mares. It was late fall. I kept having an image in my mind of her shivering in a cold rain.
So I called the farm and asked what it was like down there. Sure enough, it was a cold, rainy fall and she was miserable because she was not yet acclimated to being outdoors all the time and hadn't grown enough hair to protect herself from the elements.
So they had to bring her in more than the other mares until she toughened up a bit and got used to it. She always shows me
what she wants by showing up very clearly in mind and showing me detailed pictures of what is going on.

She seems to know whether she is carrying a colt or a filly when she is pregnant and fills me in on this information.
If I told people this stuff they would think I was nuts.

We used to pay a psychic to come do some readings on the horses, but we don't anymore because I realized I was paying for information
I already knew.

Most horses communicate with me by pictures but with some it is an intense feeling.

I was once privileged to be the exercise rider for one of the great horses in our business. This was back in the early '70's.
The horse was sore but the vets and the trainer could not figure out exactly what the problem was. They thought he was
sore behind and injected his stifles and worked on him everywhere except in the area with the problem. One night I had a
dream that was more like a TV program where this horse was standing there facing me, staring at me and pointing at the
front leg that was bothering him. I did not tell the trainer I had a dream, but I told him I thought the problem was in the
front, not the back and told him which leg. HE thought I was nuts and basically told me to mind my own business. Several
weeks later they x-rayed one of his front ankles and found a chip. They send him for surgery, took the chip out and he went
on to set a track record that stood for over 25 years in FL.

I don't talk about this stuff to anyone. But I believe we all share the same consciousness and I believe in the oneness of all
life. Animals are our fellow travelers on this path and it is has been the greatest gift of my life to share my journey with them.

37. My cat, Lightning came to me in a dream after he died.
He'd been hit by a car on a foggy morning, within weeks of his brother Thunder's death. In the dream, he awakened me by his usual method, sitting on me. He was quite distressed - he couldn't find his body. I told him that he'd been killed when the car hit him. But where's my body? he asked. We put it out back beside Thunder, I told him.
What was he supposed to do now? he asked.
Go to the light, where Thunder's waitng - Dad and I will come and join you someday, I said.
He thought about this for a minute, and then told me to tell everyone that he loved them, and asked me how to get to the light. I hugged him, called the Light, which came and took him.
I awakened, in tears, sitting up, as though I'd just been hugging him.
Lightning was the smartest cat I've ever known; he loved to shock visitors by howling that he wanted out - so clearly that guests would gasp - YOUR CAT CAN TALK!!! He also once brought a live bird that he'd just caught to Thanksgiving dinner - I think he expected me to cook it for him. The family was so impressed, they made a seat for him and Thunder at the table!

I have developed a strong telepathic bond with Stormy, made stronger during his disappearance, when he wouldn't let me believe he was dead. It now appears his disappearance may not have been innocent after all. Since his return, he came home with his tail broken. When the vet talked about amputating it, Stormy hissed at him and crawled back in his cage. I told the vet no, I wouldn't let him amputate, because Stormy had said no. I paid the bill and left. A few weeks later, he came home crawling, unable to use his hind legs. A trip to the vet later, X-rays showed a cracked pelvis. The vet insisted that this injury was only consistent with someone kicking him! He stayed inside for three weeks, kvetching the whole time. We argued - telepathically, until we came to a meeting of the minds. He thought it was his job to catch mice - thought that was why we loved him so much. Oh, honey, we love you because you're Stormy. You don't have to catch mice for us to love you!, I told him. I said it was far, far more important for him to stay safe and unharmed than it was for him to catch mice. He goes back outside now, but he hasn't brought home a mouse since! Oh, but he was inside my greenhouse this morning, enjoying the warmth on a cold morning - we shared a lovely moment.

As for the wee cats; Blue runs up to me and licks my forehead every time I talk to him telepathically, and wraps himself around my neck...just like my cat Gemini used to... He is quite the most affectionate cat I've had since Gemmmi passed. I think he's reincarnated into Blue.
Bo, on the other hand shakes his head and looks away, but he's learned to listen, nonetheless. I've let them outside from time to time, but Bo just went nuts, running around and even sitting in the street. Despite all his pleas, I wouldn't let him go back outside until he telepathically acknowledged what he was doing wrong, and promised to stay out of the street. It took him three days, watching his brother go out while he was forced to stay inside. When he'd cry, I'd tell him why - telepathically. It still freaks him out that I can talk to him - like a cat. I'm not a cat, he insists. I just grin. He'll get it, eventually.
