for people who read their horoscopes...
...just a bit if info. "Sun sign" horoscopes are written to predict events signaled by the transit of planets through the houses. It is necessary to read your rising sign, not your Sun sign, to get a more accurate read (I can think of only one true Sun sign column on the web and that is clearly stated). The only exception to this is for people who have the natal Sun located near the ascendant. If you are unsure of your rising sign it can be calculated accurately here: www.astro.com. :)

2. Funny you should post this today
I am trying learn more about astrology and my hope is to be able to do the transits eventually.

I already have my chart from Astro.com and have been using a red pencil to show the Trine and Sextile aspects. I am on the chapter which talks about Tee Squares and such and their relevance. Astro.com did not cover this from what I see in my readout.

Tell me, how much more can you discover than you get with Astro.com?

I always knew astrology was difficult, but Geeeezzzzz!
Oh, I am learning some things, so it is worth it, but my gosh there is alot to it!

3. Hi Digit
There are a lot of informative articles on astro.com and the writers are top-notch astrologers- you are starting in a good place. There is a book called "The Inner Sky" by an astrologer named Steven Forrest that is extremely helpful in learning to "read" a natal chart (and everything in astrology is based on that- including using transits). There are also many other websites that offer reliable astro info. Here is one: http://www.astrology-numerology.com/.

Yes, there is an amazing amount to learn- sometimes I wonder how many lifetimes it takes to become a real astrologer. Happy stargazing!
