I have graduation Saturday morning...could use a prayer
Edited on Fri May-19-06 10:06 PM by oxbow
Hi guys...I've been in pretty bad shape today. A lot of issues with being sick the last few years (and just being stuck in life) that have been brought up by this graduation. I feel lost and could use a bit of the good stuff.

I'm doing what I have to do, regardless of my emotions right now. It's gonna be a long day tomorrow though...I have family/friends coming from as far as Iran. It's probably gonna be a whole day thing, and I pray that my health and stability both hold up.

Thanks in advance to whoever answers this call, and God bless to the lot of ya.

oxbow :)

1. Congratulations dear
and know that no matter where your family is from these celebratory events often excellorate our familial karma and despite the accomplishment it can often get weird.

Wear a bright smile and know
that "Against the assault of laughter nothing can stand."

Mark Twain

But really just remember your source is limitless and not dependant on familial circumstance. This is your day and shine regardless of extraneous factors.

Congrats again.

As a total stranger to you on the internet, I'm extremely happy and proud of you.

great love

2. oxbow, you have made such amazing progress in healing your...
trauma. I've been awestruck at what you've accomplished over the last several months.

Please try to look at tomorrow as just a single day where you may take a few steps backwards but after so many steps forward that it will, at most, be just a small setback. I strongly suspect that it will help if you try to keep your focus ahead of you knowing that you'll be continuing to walk in the light that you've brought into your life and the world through all of the work that you've done and the mastery that you've achieved.

I think that you now know that you're a very strong person who can get through amazingly difficult things. You can get through this and stay healthy, my friend.

I'm sending you love and protective light. I ask that the Universe surround you with this protective light to help you through anything that you encounter tomorrow and to keep you balanced. (This or something better for the highest good of all involved.)

5. Best wishes and congratulations
Your feelings are normal. I had similar feelings when I graduated, it had been such a long difficult haul, with so many obstacles along the way, that I felt like I could hardly drag myself over the finish line.

I certainly did not feel happy and excited like I had always imagined I would feel. More like you are feeling. Just exhausted and apprehensive.

If you are like me, it will all sink it gradually, once you are away from the academic world!

Try to enjoy the day if you can! Enjoy your friends and family and try to pick up the good energy they bring to you.

6. Congrats, Oxbow!!
I will send light and energy your way throughout the day, Ox! And, prayers that you will sort of breeze through the day with a light and free feeling. You have such a beautiful heart, and I know you will survive this.

Looking back, I recall feeling out of sorts on graduation day as well. I think it is a lot to deal with- family coming from all over and the anticipation of all of the changes that are coming in your life etc.

You showed us a marvelous piece of art work you had done several months ago- I'm keeping that image in my mind today.

I couldn't have made it without you. The day was beautiful and went by fast, despite the uncomfortable seats. I met some friends there and went out for Indian food with my family and friends afterward. It was so spicy that everybody's nose was watering, but I loved it! I got money and flowers and much love and the pictures to help me remember this day. And through it all, I felt your love and prayers holding me.

I came home and collapsed afterwards. I've felt all week like it's too hard, like I can't go on anymore, like I'm never gonna leave behind these fears that have descended on me since 6 months ago. I've been trying so hard to be brave, to be ego-less, be anything that will make it alright.

But right now, I can sit with the part of me that's afraid and irrational. Right now I can accept it and hold it and love it. I know that things are getting better, and even though I don't know how good my health can get, I'm looking forward to finding out.

11. As my husband says, I'm glad that things were less awful than you...
feared and better than you expected.

I'm so glad that the time went by quickly and that you'll have such wonderful memories!
