Tarot reading - Spying on Americans... Part 1
I threw these cards in January, this is a rough draft (I use a few different sources, I have cut-and-pasted because it's late, please forgive) of the analysis.

I'm hoping to have time to do another reading in the next week, it will be part 2. (and I'll try and find time to clean this one up.)

SUBJECT – Spying on Americans analysis and summary

CARDS 1, 2, 3. PRESENT ENVIRONMENT

1) King of Wands - Handsome and passionate, he is agile in mind and body. A country gentleman, generally married. Loyal and noble, he comes of good family. Sometimes he is too hasty. If no man seems to be involved in the spread of the cards, you will find these traits: honesty, friendliness, passion. The card may mean unexpected heritage; a good marriage.

2) XIX The Sun – Material happiness, success, attainment. A good marriage. Happy reunions. Achievements in the arts, science and agriculture. Studies completed; liberation. Pleasure in the simple life. The sun Is the card of happiness, success and attainment. Obstacles fall away in the light of joy. This card also represents a happy marriage, a successful completion of studies, liberation, achievement and recognition.

When you see this card, know that you will be successful at all you undertake.

3) Queen of Pentacles (R) - Mistrust, suspicion. Duties neglected. Dependence on others. Changeable. Fearful of failure.
She is a nervous and clinging woman, who fearing failure is a burden on others. This card warns against cowardliness, timidity, excessive mistrust and delay in matters that demand immediate action. This card may also represent a woman with black hair and dark eyes.

CARDS 4, 5, 6. ELEMENTS OF THE QUESTION

4) Nine of Cups - The wish card. If this card comes up in a Querent’s spread, he will get his wish. Material success, satisfaction. All the good things in life are available. Physical well-being.
Make a wish, and a smile, for what you want will be yours. The wish card indicates well-being in all respects – physical, emotional, and material. Goodness abounds and there is much contentment and happiness.

5) Two of Cups – Harmony of the masculine and the feminine. Reciprocity, the beginning of a friendship or love affair. Balance of ideas and plans with a kindred soul.
Passions and emotions run high as you approach what you have your heart set upon. This card denotes a strong union between you and another person in new love or friendship.

This card can stand for the union of any two entities - people, groups, ideas, or talents. In readings, the Two of Cups tells you to look for connections in your life, especially those that are one-on-one. Now is not the time to separate or stay apart. It is the time to join with another and work as a partnership. If you are in conflict, look for truce and the chance to forgive and be forgiven. If you are struggling with two choices or tendencies within yourself, seek to reconcile them.

6) Six of Cups - Happiness, enjoyment, but coming from the past. Meeting with a childhood acquaintance. Pleasant memories. Or this card may mean new friendships. A gift from an admirer. New knowledge and opportunities.
A visit or reminder of the past brings back happy memories. Follow your feelings as new romantic possibilities emerge. Although new friendships and new relationships arise old ones are never forgotten.

The Six of Cups also represents innocence - a word with many shades of meaning. You can be innocent in the strictly legal sense of lack of guilt. You can be innocent of the truth - unaware of some secret.

CARDS 7, 8, 9. OBSTACLES TO BE SURMOUNTED / HOW SURMOUNTED

7) XV The Devil (R) - The beginning of spiritual understanding. Removing the chains of bondage to the material. Timidity, failure to make decisions. The overcoming of pride and self-interest.
This card indicates freedom from bondage and material concerns. Be bold enough to escape from your troubles, and overcome any pride or self-interest that holds you captive to the mundane.

8) Knight of Wands - A young man, possibly a warrior, filled with energy. He can be a generous friend or lover, but is also likely to be cruel and brutal. He is hasty in all he does. May also mean change of residence, emigration, quick departure. Knights in a spread may also mean the coming or going of a matter.
He is a handsome warrior, kind and generous in love and friendship, but cruel and brutal in battle. Everything he does is in haste. This card may indicate a sudden departure, a change of residence or the rapid coming or going of some matter. This card also represents a boy with blond or red hair and blue eyes.
It may be time for a change.

9) VIII Strength - Force of character, spiritual power overcoming material power, love triumphing over hate, the higher nature over carnal desires.
Here superior power subdues the adversary. Rely on your courage and inner strength to overcome obstacles. Your will and determination will overcome the challenges, so have faith in your ability to see things through.
Inner strength comes from an exercise of the heart muscle. It is perseverance, courage, resolve and composure - qualities that help us endure when times are tough. In the past, a person with inner strength was commonly said to have character; he or she could be counted on in the darkest moments. Card 8 represents this energy of quiet determination. Strength is not a flashy card, but one that is solid and reliable.
Card 8 also represents patience and compassion. Getting angry is easy when events turn sour, but dealing calmly with frustration takes great strength. So does accepting others and forgiving mistakes. We need strength to mold situations softly.


CARDS 10, 11, 12. WHAT WILL COME UNBIDDEN

10) VII The Chariot (R) – Decadent desires, possibility of ill health, restlessness and desire for change, an unethical victory.
Disputes, quarrels or litigation leave you restless and desiring a change. Be prepared for bad news or a setback in a long struggle.

11) Justice (R) - Injustice, inequality, legal complications. Advice to use mercy and understanding when judging others, and to avoid excessive tendency to severity.
Injustice and inequality, perhaps bigotry or bias is indicated by this card. Guard against judging others too harshly, or showing favoritism or do not expect a fair decision from someone who is biased.
This card refers to legal matters of all kinds, but is not restricted to them. The courts are where judgments are made and decisions rendered. In readings, Justice often appears when you are concerned with doing what is right or making sure you receive your due. This card can also appear when you are feeling the impact of a past mistake or good deed. The cause you set in motion at one time is now returning to you as an effect.

12) King of Swords – This is a man who may be a lawyer, a judge, a general, or a governor. He gives wise council, is firm in enmity as well as in friendship. A man of many ideas, thoughts, and designs. The card may also mean power, strength, authority, or military intelligence. A lawsuit is in the offing.
He is a stern, but fair judge. This card may also represent a man with brown hair and brown eyes.



CARDS 13, 14, 15. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO ACHIEVE

13) Four of Swords – Hermit’s repose. Rest after war. Banishment. Relaxation of anxiety, release from suffering. There will soon be a change for the better. Not a card of death. This card indicates the need for meditation. Take time out to give your mind a much-needed rest form the noise of everyday life. Replenish you inner strength and end your weariness by taking time to sort things out alone.
Sometimes the Four of Swords implies that you are or could be shifting focus from the external to the internal. When we are silent, we can more easily go within.

14) Three of Cups - Success, abundance. Good luck, fortune, victory. Happy issue of an undertaking. Hospitality. Pleasure.
A joyous celebration, perhaps a wedding is indicated. Great Joy and revelry accompany the favorable conclusion to some task. The happiness results from the fact that what was set out to be done is achieved.
In readings, the Three of Cups can signify a friend or the feelings associated with friendship. This card can represent community - the network of support created when we interact with others. It can be any group in which the members feel a bond. When you see the Three of Cups, examine your attachments to the groups in your life from an emotional point of view.

15) Knight of Pentacles (R) - A static nature that is unprogressive, dull, timid, idle, or careless. It indicates stagnation in one’s affairs.
He is a lazy, dull and timid man who warns of stagnation and idleness in one’s affairs, or this card may represent a boy with dark eyes and black hair.
