2. you're way more adventurous than I am, Popol!
And this sounds like fun. I'm gonna' play:

sniffing my husband's bald head
laughing at the observations brought about by his unique sense of humor
when seeds I've started pop up from the ground
beautiful landscapes and homes
kitty cats. There isn't a cat around that I couldn't love.
fruity-type drinks with wine in them; Bellinis come to mind
the Internet
the beginning of the fall semester
talking to my mom
the intense color of flowers like geraniums and petunias in orange or deep pink
that state between sleep and wakefulness
stars
a good gardening book, like Old Herbaceous
talking to my brother about movies or other subjects where I can see his unique take on life
the feeling in my muscles after a good round of stretches
gardening on a misty morning at 5 or 6 a.m., when no one else is out

reading about The Cathars
being on the water, whether it be a pool, the lake or the shore
the first fire in the fireplace and the first time the radiators go on in the late fall
sitting on my deck, surrounded by flowers and bamboo

5. oooh, nice list
I especially liked "orchids" and, following it, "mystery."

And the thought of your dog closing the bathroom door cracked me up! What a nut!

This is fun; let's see others. C'mon Quakerfriend, try your hand!

Oh, I wanted to add:

grids and squares

lit candles on a glass table outside on a summer evening

the flowery, curlique shape of rue leaves

6. Hey, NJCher, you are REALLY getting very psychic! Here you
go:

Skiing- Thru deep powder that so surrounds me that I feel I will almost drown in it, in the corn snows of spring, on steep icy slopes- any memories of skiing.

vegetable gardening- loamy soil and chickens on the compost pile

photographing all things in nature- especially the birds

old rock walls

genealogy and archiving old photos and works of family members- Their writings, artwork etc.

writing

the piano

memories of childhood and reminiscing with my sisters and cousins

etc. etc.

13. Seems like we have some cat fans here! I have a quote for you!
"I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worth while?"

Death thought about it "CATS," he said eventually, "CATS ARE NICE."

Terry Pratchett, Sourcery

-------

I put Pratchett and all of his books on my list of favorite things. I also would add:

hearing my daughter laugh
Smelling a clean baby
kissing the cat's ears
hugs from my husband
smelling the lilacs and the Lilly of the Vally that grows around my house
watching my daughter run and play with her buddies
the smell of garlic and onion in a pan
laughing with family and friends
hanging out with my husband and daughter without the TV or the computers turned on
our family walks every evening
a warm kitty on feet in the winter
the smell of a chicken roasting
the taste of a good glass of red wine
DARK CHOCOLATE!!!

Hanging with you guys here at DU.
