Today is a very good day!
Today is a very, very good day! With today's world climate (political and environmental--phew--how hot is it where you are?), we don't often take the time to truly appreciate the little things in life. My coven members and I used to attempt to recognize when it's a Very Good Day by stating as much, but recently we've drifted from that somewhat. Today I want to restart the practice. Anybody want to join me? I'll start:

  • MorningGlow Jr. slept through the night for the first time in weeks, so I am rested.

  • I took a chance and washed and dried my stretched-out linen dress, and it shrank just enough to fit me but didn't shrink so much that I look like a sausage.

  • Even though I got booted out of my office last week (and bumped down to the ground floor "dungeon"), my old suitemates don't like the chick who's occupying my old space--they miss me!

  • Two of my new suitemates bought me a lovely floor lamp as an officewarming present.

  • The air conditioning, which had been broken since last week, is now fixed.

  • AND I kicked ass in a meeting with terrifying high-muckety-muck bigwigs, which got me some praise from my new VP.

:toast:

Allrightie! Who's next?

1. After working for 5 days
12-16 hours a day, I finally finished my website last night.

I am happy with the way it looks and I'm grateful for the wonderful comments I've received.

2. That's a fantastic site
Wonderful work, BB! It's quite beautiful, and with a beautiful message. I'm sure you'll get 8,000 people easily!

3. I won my court case this a.m.
OK, it was just a little traffic ticket and in truth, not even that. I got a ticket for not wearing my seat belt PROPERLY. Can you imagine that? NJ police don't have anything better to do than ticket middle-aged English teachers with 100% clean records (never had a ticket or caused an accident) for not wearing their seat belt CORRECTLY.

But the judge seemed to think there was an out in the law for me, even though my argument emphasized another tack. So he let me off the hook!

I was up against a prosecutor who seemed to think her career rested on my silly little case. But she did not prevail: I did and YIPPPEE!

It's a good day!

4. Excellent--congrats!
I beat a "running a red light" ticket a couple of years ago (it was GREEN dammit! not even yellow!) and I consider it one of my finest hours. It is quite satisfying, isn't it?

I loved being full-on preggers, only weeks away from my due date, at the time--it was a nice extra effect which I used to my advantage--when the prosecutor offered me a deal and I refused it, he incredulously asked why not, and I said demurely, "Because I'm innocent." Bwaaahahaa! (But I was!)

5. Shameless kick and addendum
When I got home last night I found an offer for a balance transfer--3.99% till it's paid off. I was just thinking about how to consolidate our debt, and there it was in the mail. Woo hoo!

I think we need some Wednesday good news--anybody? anybody? Bueller?

6. Congrats you three
Let's hope the good news is contagious in this forum and around the world for a change. Despite all onerous indications.
