Changing the face of Health Care

We got word Friday that the challenge on the Hospital Property Tax Exemption was over ruled. Illinois Hospitals, currently, are required to provide free care to the uninsured if they want to be tax exempt in this state. While that sounds kinda like legal mumbo-jumbo, the bottom line is that we were upheld for the actions we took locally to force the local hospitals to treat the uninsured and poor for free. It isn't a solution to the medical access problem, but it is a little bit of a safe haven for poor people who are ill and in need of help.

We rocked Illinois and the national hospital industry with this one. The shock waves are just beginning.
