3. I missed almost the whole book discussion.
I ususally read this at work and I find it hard to discuss there. With that said I very much appreciated this book read and the opinions and thoughts of everyone. Suzanne is an amazing woman, I can't fathom losing either of my children and her strength and compassion were awe inspiring. Thank goodness for people like Suzanne and for I had a dream for hostessing this book read.

I had a dream you have to be the most organized person I know! Thank you.

4. We missed you, OB.
In reference to me being organized:  (I definitely wouldn't use that word to describe myself! :))

6. A question for anyone who's read any of the other Matthew books.
Do you recommend them?

8. I have just finished book 2 and 3.
Some may say that 2 and 3 go off on strange tangents that strain credibility. Others may say that reality is actually that unbelievable.

All in all, interesting and glad I read them.

12. Thanks, cassie. I think that I'm going to order them. I like...
strained credibility sometimes. It makes me think. :)

17. Yes, trying to wrap my brain around some of this material
has to be growing some new brain cells in my worn out gray matter! Or at least giving the ones I still have left a good work out!

Let's hear it for strained credibility! :)

9. I'm on my third book now
I would highly recommend them to the people who appreciate Matthews' messages and feel inspired by them. There are so many things covered in these books that I've never even considered before, and learning about all the different aspects of the other side of the veil absolutely fascinates me. I feel like I've been on an exciting adventure. However, those here who have trouble with some of the things he says may not enjoy the books as much as I did. I totally understand those having trouble accepting everything he says. For me, so much of it is repeated by so many others and when I read it, something inside acknowledges that I've known this stuff before. As mentioned in other threads, I wonder how much said are actually metaphors to help us comprehend better.

I love the fact it is light, fun reading. So much of the other books I've been reading are very difficult reads, with lots of terminology that's rather foreign to me at this point.

And I want to thank IHAD as well. You really are special. You want one of Metta's donuts?

:hi:

11. Oooo, donuts!
:donut::donut:

(I brought an extra one for you! :))

Thanks, PL. I wish that you had already read "Journey of Souls". I'd enjoy hearing how you would compare them. I agree that the Matthew books are light. Part of me liked the fact that it was broken down into nice little discreet sections, but then I also felt as though much of the book was white space because of it. As Metta would say, "There's good and bad in everything."

14. Journey of Souls sounds like a great book
I've been wanting to read it. A friend of mine has it and said I could borrow it. I remember you already had a book discussion here, so there's already been an indepth discussion on it. As much as you refer to it, though, it sounds like a book I can't not read.

7. A question for anyone who has read "Journey of Souls" by...
Michael Newton, PhD.

What did you think of this book versus "Journey of Souls"? Personally, I liked both books, but I felt as though "Journey of Souls" had more detail, and I felt more involved with it while I was reading it. This may be because it was the one that I read first; if I had read the Matthew book first, I might have felt the opposite. I liked the details that we got in "Journey of Souls" in reference to the process that we have to go through to incarnate again. (Maybe this is discussed in some of the other Matthew books.)

By and large though, they are both good books.

10. I like the Matthew book, but I have to vote for JOS.
JOS was a book that hit me between the eyes emotionally, and was a catalyst for much spiritual growth. Tremendous amounts of information, presented
in a rational and logical way. And on an intuitive level, everything resonated strongly as truth.

But I agree, JOS was the one I read first, so it is a
sentimental favorite. I might have felt the same way
if I had read the Matthew book first.

13. The fact that Michael Newton is a scientist added to its credibility...
for me. I liked its "case study" way of presenting things.

I kept wanting to be in one of the sessions myself!

16. Yes
I know, I think that is why he can never seem
to stay retired. Once you read his book,
you want to schedule an appt with him!

And yes I like the authors with PhDs and MDs who write
about spiritual matters, they bring the whole left brain rational piece into the discussion. And they have a great deal to lose by publishing such material. Their reputations, their livelihoods, their licenses, etc. So they have a great deal of courage and must believe strongly in what they are saying.

15. It was a good discussion
of the 1st Matthew book. I enjoyed it, though have been very busy during this time, and haven't been able to participate actively. Still, it was good to hear about the book, which I did here, and then to really like it. As far as the jos goes, I have not read that, but want to. It could be that it's an easier book to discuss online than Matthew. Anyway, thanks Ihave, for organizing the discussion and sticking with it.
