2. Animals most likely don't appreciate
our inhumanity, at all.

Remember how the elephants knew to go inland, away from the sea during the tsunami and saved some wiser sorts.

Animals are far wiser than we may ever know.

10. A forest ranger once told me that the deer and elk all
disappear the day hunting season starts. It's as if they know.

3. I was thinking the same thing
It seems like we're hearing about a lot of animals acting angrily toward people. Even the food supply seems angry with people.

4. Thinking along the same lines, Hippiechick. It is all so bizarre,
like the animal kingdom are rebelling against the opressors.

5. I just had this same thought today when the CNN ticker
listed these 3 incidence one after the other. But, I have to say that I tend to think that the GOP would like us to be afraid of nature...period.

Several months ago I watched a show about deer attacking people. At the end of the show I learned that the show was sponsered by the NRA!!

In truth, I'm sure that these 'attacks' are VERY rare.

6. Understood, Quakerfriend, but ...
... I don't see it from a 'fear' perspective.

It almost gave me a chuckle, to think that Mother Nature is getting ready to put us in our place. My Sustainable Development professor used to say that he
looked at the Earth as a living organism and one day she was going to give a big shake and shrug, and try to be rid of us - like a dog shaking off fleas.

9. This kind of goes along with Matthew's messages that state
that mother earth is cleansing herself of the damage we have done. Wasn't there a movie some time ago about the animals getting revenge on humans?

8. Also, if they are going to attack, they usually paw the ground
Edited on Thu Oct-19-06 07:39 PM by Cleita
with a front hoof and hiss at you. It means they are probably protecting babies in the brush or that you cornered them and they are warning you. If you back away and go in a different direction they don't follow to attack. But hunters aren't very bright too begin with and don't heed the warnings.

I lived in a place in Idaho that was a deer preserve. The deer were so tame you could pet them and feed them out of your hand. Although I saw a buck chase a Labrador once who had gotten too threatening to the little herd he was a part of.

7. Something is happening. The stingray killings are
especially weird because the chances of that happening are very rare and twice in such a short period of time is really strange. Especially the fact that the second stingray jumped on board the boat the victim was on is really chilling.

11. Yes, Cleita. And, it amazes me that both men were struck in
the heart.

And, on a similar note, it seems that there have been more and more sightings of albino animals. This is supposed to be a sign of the changes to come.

Abnormal Fish Found Closer to Washington

By David A. Fahrenthold
Washington Post Staff Writer
Sunday, December 19, 2004; Page C01

Male fish that are growing eggs have been found in the Potomac River in Maryland, a federal scientist said last week -- indicating that a troubling pollution mystery in West Virginia has spread downstream toward Washington.

Nine male smallmouth bass, taken from the Potomac about 60 miles from the District, were found to have developed eggs inside their sex organs, said Vicki S. Blazer, a scientist overseeing this research for the U.S. Geological Survey.
