Universal Prayer for Peace and Spiritual Guidance
Universal Prayer for Peace and Spiritual Guidance

Dear Lord; You are the God of Abraham and Sarah; You are the God of Ishmael and Mohammed, the God of Moses and Aaron, of David and Jesus, and You are the consciousness of Buddha and the Lord of Krishna. You are Goddess, and You are the Great Spirit. You are the God of all who seek truth, and the Source of all there is; You are my God.

I know that You hear my words. Although other words may pass through my lips or my mind at other times, these words are true and they come from my heart.

I know little about You, but I know that You are here. You are always with me and we are one. Please teach me the lessons I need to learn so that I may see the truth, beyond just knowing these words. Teach me to learn more about You and my connection to You. Help me remember who I really am, for I know this body is just a temporary vehicle, and in reality I am much more. I will do my best to look out for the lessons and try to learn them. I ask that this be done as easily, painlessly, and harmoniously as possible.

I thank You, the source of all there is, for everything that sustains me. And I thank You for the opportunity to learn and grow. May each day bring me closer to inner peace and knowledge of what is real. May each day bring our planet closer to world peace, as you help us remember that your presence is everywhere.

Namasté

1. Very nice.
Welcome to ASAH.

I ask that this be done as easily, painlessly, and harmoniously as possible.

Our Intenders Circle emphasises using a phrase such as this when we petition Spirit/Universe.
And, of course, "for the greatest good of all concerned".
Changing my thought processes to see Unity in All has made a powerful difference in my experience.

Did you write this yourself?

:hi:

4. Hi, vsm. I just saw this, but I just mentioned...
"for the highest good of all involved" in my post to SeattleGirl. This is extremely important! Maybe this is the lesson of the day given that we both felt drawn to mention it.

3. Hi, Gary. This is beautiful!
Thank you for sharing it with us.

(By the way, I listened to the radio interview that you posted here previously. I really like your approach to living in this world and the concept that we're much more alike that we're different, regardless of what anyone's particular religion is. This is a really important message, and I thank you for putting it out there in the world.)

6. That is a lovely unifying prayer
thanks and can you tell us a bit more about your book? Or is it still gestating ?

Either way, please consider checking out my fire school: a parable thread and the links therein.

I noticed you're often on the election reform forum. We may just have a shared interest or two or more.

best to you,

the link to his earlier thread that has some information about at least his earlier book. (It may be the same book that he's referenced.) The interview was very interesting.

10. hi stellanoir
I believe that people who seek the truth end up finding each other, sometimes before they find the truth (or at least before we completely realize we found it!). and some issues that seem unrelated are actually related to truth and therefore people like ourselves find that we meet in different places, like different discussion forums, just because we seek the truth and we want what's good for the world.

an example -- a few months ago I had the good fortune to meet Harvey Wasserman, a long time spokesperson and author for renewable/solar energy and the environment. But get this, we were at a lecture about the stolen election, not renewable energy. Both of us had been focusing on solar for years, but our desire to seek truth and justice in the world led us both to the election fraud world, and there we were.

so yes, i'm in the election reform forum a lot. but before this wave of election theft and republican takeover, i was focused on spiritual and the solar energy issues primarily. now i've been dragged into the dirty world of politics and i'm having a hard time climbing out. I think the election thing is so important. if we could just fix our election system then I could go back to the other things I was working on more.

to answer your question, yes my book is done. it was published on 9/1/01, just 10 days before 9/11. I had no idea what was about to happen but many readers have told me the timing was incredible, and it's so important for people to realize the bonds between the religions today.

There's lot's more information about the book here:

Here's what the cover looks like:

nice to connect with you. stay in touch.
