HEY; all you loving wondeful spirits of this group:
Sorry to yell; just wanted to make sure you all see this.

It has become obvious to me that (of course) so many people are suffering from lack in these years, and this holiday season.
Someone posted in the Lounge about their problems, being oh so much more severe than I have dealt with lately.
I know many would say that DU is not a charity. Of course that is not its' function, but on the flip side, we have helped several of our own in times of great need, myself being no exception (being the lucky recipient of some much needed help lately).
The original OP of the thread seems to be getting some help from a couple of people. I would like to propose two things. One, that the people who are helping the OP be the target of much love and light from us, in gratefulness of them having shown such selflessness. Two, that maybe, some of us here could direct light toward the owner of this post from the original thread ( NOT the OP). The story is touching me deeply and I wish to help, but am not quite in a position to do so just yet (check comes next week-end).

Just thought some of you might like to know.

I already sent the people helping the OP with her problems a note of blessing and thanks, since that is all I can contribute at the moment.

1. when you get that check
be careful.

Not wanting to be a 'snow-body'. But a chest full of new found cash has a tendency to make one a bit heady.

Having said that, I got a small windfall first of summer and it has lasted and out performed anything I could have hoped.

But reality intrudes. . Just saying, gf, watch your pocket. Be careful of your splash.
And trust the Universe always.

2. Oh, you bet.
I am just hoping I can spare even $20-$50 plus shipping to send some presents to that little one.
I know where to look for the good deals-I'm a coupon shopper and I know my stores pretty well.
Besides, if I give a bit/pay it foreward, I am sure it will come back to me if I ever need it.
Thanks for the heads-up,though, you are so right-especially as a Leo I tend to want to overdo it a bit in my excitement.
I am already reining in my mental spending of it, if you know what I mean!
:hi:

3. I do that too ..
believe I am making 'investments' and not expenditures. I think that is the correct tact to take.
I read these things .. and have to remind myself.. when I pay this then it provides income for those who are on my same level. The horrible gd stuff about the gazillionaires makes that a bit painful.
But. Listen up. We never have to endure the trials and nightmares they have. We just have to survive. That's a blessing.

What little one?

I love the pay it forward idea. I am still gaining benefit from McCaully (I had to shut down earlier today and lost all my neat webpages! I hate when that happens) and her tapes. Totally awesome. She says, Peace. You wonder what Peace looks like? It is here. This is It.

Call me naive, but I think we can survive on Peace.

4. The little one...
the 6 year old described in the link in my OP.

Am listening to Heather now..............ahhhhhhhhhh.

Of course we can survive on Peace. We're just impatient for everyone else to realize/remember that?

5. She has a really nice voice

and the 6th track, toning is very soothing.

I don't know what to think of her yet. I'm kind of stand offish when forming opinions.
That's my dad gum Libra moon. But my first impression is, she walks the walk.
Isn't that the thing? How does this work for you?
I can have all the moonstones, but I wanna know . rubber meets the road and?
Should I be that pragmatic?
psst. I am.

I feel really dumb. But I don't know what OP the little one is in. This thread? The one you link to? I cannot find the little one.

7. votes, in the post, it says the following:
"And we haven't bought a single thing for our 6 year old little boy for Christmas. We signed him up for the Salvation Army's Angel Tree back in November, because we were afraid that we'd be broke come Christmas and have no cash for presents. "

' I just keep telling myself, hold on until January. But it's hard. Especially when Christmas is coming in a couple of weeks, knowing we have to find a way to get the kidlet something. We've sold nearly everything we own of value, except a painting that we can't find a buyer for. I hope to God somebody is kind enough to pick his name from that Angel Tree. *sigh*"

I have never seen these post from Lil'D. And I read all her stuff. I thought.

I have been working on the Angel Tree project here locally.
I don't even agree with their 'religion'. But talking to the people with children brought me to tears every day. They are so humble and appreciate the offering.

I don't even tarnish by drawing a 'parallel'.

These people represent a heroic heart.

Lil jr D should have a present. If not, please let me hear about it.

8. These are both so sad. I remember going through similar things when growing up.
Edited on Sat Dec-09-06 12:17 AM by I Have A Dream
We lost our home several times due to financial difficulties and had to stay with family temporarily. It's something that one never forgets. It makes a child grow up very quickly.

I will send energy to both the original poster and to the poster that you reference.

I think that both posters have children who might go without Christmas presents as things currently stand. Welcome to Bush's America. :(

lildreamer, thank you for posting this! What a beautiful heart you have!:hug:

9. Thanks for pointing out RadFemFL's post, libdreamer.
I can't send any money, but I am definitely sending positive thoughts and white light her way.

11. They don't have to
go without Christmas presents! I know people who give. No child needs to go w/o Christmas.

Please PM me if you think any child may suffer. I know a bunch of Angels. They deliver.
