Where does one turn to develop psychic sensitivity?
On several occasions, I've found myself thinking of old friends out of the blue, and shortly after learned that they'd died.

At other times I've randomly thought of a somewhat unusual animal, like a fox or a pheasant, and suddenly found myself staring into the face of one.

I once had an incredibly vivid nightmare in which hundreds of children were crying, horrifically thin from starvation and shackled to beds. A few days later, the horrors of Couseacu's Romania were revealed to the US on television.

In early December of this last year, I dreamt about a Tsunami...not typical subject matter for my.

I strongly feel that there is more to these incidents than mere coincidence, and am interested in learning to develop what I believe are innate sensitivities to certain phenomena.

Any thoughts?

2. There are a number of books on the subject
I'm not familiar with any of them so can't really recommend any.

You can also just practice. Set aside some time each day and try to get impressions of what "the future" holds. Jot down anything you get.

You can also do this with people -- see if you can "pick up" things about them.

IUf you want more prophetic dreams, ask for them. In fact, if you're interested in more ability to use your intuitive/psychic senses in any and all areas, ask for that as well. Form the clear intent and repeat it often. Ask your Guides for their assistance as well.

We all have the ability, it's simply a matter of developing it, and practice is one way to do it.

3. It is also important to notice and trust what you get
A lot of people get impressions but they disappear so quickly that they are ignored or lost or discounted. Learn to notice that little message or face or guidance as it comes up, and then pause to consider and acknowledge it.

Meditation is definitely helpful because it helps get rid of the interference of everyday details and clear your higher chakras which are sensitive to more psychic impressions.

Check around for a really good psychic in your area. They often offer psychic development classes.

8. I've learned that the hard way...
...right before someone stole my purse.

I saw him, and I sensed danger; but I didn't listen to myself.

Do you have any criteria for identifying a good psychic? I suspect there are more unscrupulous impersonators than legitimate professionals.

7. Many thanks for your advice...
From the time I was a little girl, I've felt the presence of spiritual beings that I never felt I could accurately label as anything other than "friends". Are these what you identify as "Guides"?

13. Yeah, probably
We each have several guides that are with us from birth on, all the time. They are there for our help and guidance. Protection to a certain extent too. They cannot interfere with free will (so it's a good idea to ASK for help -- every day, for all sorts of things), but they can try to impress us with a better way of looking at things, etc.

These are typically humans which are between lives themselves. This is their service and growth opportunity.

We can also attract or ask for other guides on a temporary basis -- say we're studying something intensely, or are going thru an especially trying period and need some "extra" help. My mother had a guide come help her physically during a period she worked in a refrigerated environment and it was kinda hard on her. I had a guide who helped me with Feng Shui when I was studying and esp. once I started practicing as a consultant. VERY helpful. :D

In general, our requests for help are ALWAYS answered to the extent they can be answered and we can accept/hear/understand.

12. All of the 'intuitive arts' are probably very good practice.
I have a number of psychic friends which really has helped me to accept and use my intuitive voice and 'inner ear'. Also tarot, astrology, I-Ching and other such activities help as well.

And being around others who, for whatever reason, do not 'speak' the language (be they animals, foreigners, mutes,...)offer surprising and wonderful opportunities for development as well.

14. in addition to the outstanding advice you've received here...
I would like to add dream analysis. Dreams speak to us in symbols. Psychic impressions are conveyed through symbols and pictures. The more adept you are with symbols, the easier it will be to "read" your impressions.

Also, dreams offer an opportunity to intersect with the subconscious. I've found that interacting with the subconscious facilitates the intuitive sense.
