Solstice blessings!

Tonight is the eve of the Winter Solstice, which arrives tomorrow, December 21, at 7:22 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. This is when nights are longest in the northern hemisphere.

The new moon took place at 9:01 a.m. EST today, making tonight an especially dark and lengthy night.

Our nation is also experiencing a particularly dark, long night as the Misadministration stubbornly insists on waging a senseless war in Iraq and wasting the lives of Americans and Iraqis.

But out of the greatest darkness, comes the greatest hope and ultimately, the greatest joy.

By Saturday, Dec. 23, the day will be one minute longer, and where skies are clear, the thin crescent of the young moon will be visible in the sky above sunset.

The light will return, as it always does. It will shine on the old and young, the peacemakers and the warmongers, the Moslems, Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Pagans, and those of other beliefs.

Let us pray in our own ways for the waxing light to bring enlightenment in our nation, and to show us the path to peace.

This solstice really sounds like a time of new beginnings. I hope everyone sends light and good mojo to those in the world who are suffering so we can bring about change, as well as takes advantage of the positive, fresh energy to manifest whatever it is they wish to call into their lives.
