SERIOUS need for some light and loving energy here:

Sorry to post in a separate thread; but want to make sure we surround this one of our own with as much love and light as possible in this; the darkest of times for them. We all know this is happening; but when it cuts so close to us; every time; we need to be prepared to support them in their stages of grief.

I pray for Nathan Given. May his soul find peace; and his family also.

This reminds me of SeattleGirl's thread about Ford today-handling negative emotions. 'Cause this one will challenge you to do it; right here.

Breathing.....
Through my grief and sadness.

1. I felt greatly saddened when I read about Nathan.
And like you, I pray that his soul finds peace, and that his family feels the power of love being extended to them by so many people.

2. very difficult indeed
I recall the battle about his sister, too.

What a horrible thing to have to face. I swear, I don't think I could get over losing a family member to bush's insane war. I would be like Cindy Sheehan: there would never be a day's rest. I feel so bad for him.

This insanity in Iraq just has to stop. It just has to.

3. I don't remember that, about his sister.
What was it about? Just curious.

6. He made several appeals on this board and DU-ers helped out
Here's how he writes it in his post #235 on the thread about his nephew:

My family members, all of us, are fighters. I don't know how many of you remember me from my posts about my sister, Andrea Clark, who was almost a victim of the Texas Futile Care Law, but our family fought that battle. We fought, tooth and nail, to keep St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston, from killing her. And we won. When my son, Keith, died of cystic fibrosis, I continued to fight to learn about the disease, and to find a compound that would stop it. And I won.

This is just so horrible. So horrible. I can't imagine how emotionally spent one would be after this latest news, plus having to endure all of the above.

10. I'm with you Cher
I really admire the families of 911 who continue to press on for ANSWERS.
Of course the answer from the BFEE is, eh? Who cares.

I would come unhinged if someone in my immediate family was a casualty.
I can hardly contain myself as it is. Because this is our family. Each and everyone.

5. The whole thing is a loss
How much grief and loss.

I would wish condolences. But someone SOMETHING has to put a Stop to this.

Another child. Another child, George. Not yours. Ours. Is there an end to the madness? What is the stopping point? When? Can we get a read on Hallifuckinburton to know exactly when the meter is full? So we can stop fueling with our children? That's all I ask. How much blood money do you need? We will pay! Whatever your ransom. Just stop killing our children and others. Now. We will give you all our money! Just stop the killing!

7. I can't imagine what they're going through. It's one thing to die while fighting...
to defend your country against real danger, but I can't imagine having a family member or friend die while fighting in this totally unnecessary confict.

I'm sending healing energy and light to his family.

8. These awful experiences of many of us
throughout the globe, rising out of mindless, self-serving policies of a few is heartbreaking to say the least.

Change can only come, when the majority feels the pain of others, deep inside, true compassion - when is humankind going to reach that threshold?

I am sending healing energies and light

11. Remember, we are moving towards
the Tipping Point. I hate to be redundant.

http://www.gladwell.com/tippingpoint/index.html

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tipping_Point

Hitting the mainstream
The term was popularised and applied to daily life by Malcolm Gladwell's 2000 bestselling book The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference. Since the publication of Gladwell's book, "tipping point" has become a common cliché, with uses often far removed from its theoretical underpinnings. The concept has been applied to any process in which beyond a certain point, the rate at which the process (chemical, sociological, environmental etc.) proceeds increases dramatically. Mathematically, the angle of repose may be seen as an inflection point. In control theory, the concept of positive feedback describes the same phenomenon, with the problem of balancing an inverted pendulum being the classic embodiment.

12. I sure as hell hope so.
'Cause this is making me helplessly angry; and I don't want to be that negative anymore.
But I think I'm gonna be, in regards to this, for a bit.
