Tornado over Crawford, Texas the day Saddam is executed.
If you believe in omens, this has to be a powerful one, and I don't think it bodes well for *. He and his family are IN Crawford. Oooops! So, I thought I'd ask - do you believe in Omens? What do you think it means for George?

1. Right now I feel so heavy and so weird as if I were deep under
water and being crushed by the pressure. This whole day this feeling of foreboding and increasing pressure was there escalating as the time for Saddam's execution came nearer and came to a climax just before it was announced. It's starting to lift a bit now, but I feel a storm of evil has been unleashed with this hanging. It's not going to be good for them and for us in the months coming.

3. Cleita, I was feeling the same; still am, to an extent.
Just before his execution, I was near tears at the thought and feeling of what this action has probably released. The whole situation in Iraq was wrong from the beginning, and it has only gotten worse. Now with this, the execution, I don't even want to think about how it will be now.

I was thinking about it again a little while ago. Part of my feelings did come from what the action of executing Saddam may have; the other thing I realized is that what also brought me near to tears was knowing that by doing this, we (not individuals, but a collective "we") were brought down to the level of Saddam. How on earth can that be a positive thing?

It's often easier to take the low road, it seems, rather than working at taking the higher one. By saying this, I am in no way, shape, or form saying what Saddam did was alright; what he did was despicable, as were the actions of his sons. (I was listening to a sports talk radio show before the sons were killed, and they were talking about how they treated the athletes, and I had to change the channel, it sickened me so.) It's just that lowering ourselves to the level of Saddam and his sons is NOT the cure or the rememdy for those kinds of actions; on the contrary, I believe it only perpetrates that kind of thing.

14. Now I know why I was feeling this sense of foreboding today
hadn't been paying attention to the news- deliberately. Just had a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach and couldn't figure out why...now I know.

It is so sad. Now they are arguing over what to do with is body when his daughter is begging to get her father's remains to give him a decent burial.

This is not going to help anyone or anything.....I feel the same way as I did when they killed Timothy McVeigh- that they had to get them out of the way- FAST- before the real truth (and links back to them) came out. Bushes & cronies are so linked with Saddam and someday the truth will come out and so many will be ashamed of what we (USA) have done...but it will be too late then to change it.

Like attracts like....

*sigh*
I am saying prayers for everyone involved in this death....

And we invaded Iraq on the pretext of moral and political superiority.

But we are no better than barbarians.

19. The US was brought down to that level
when "our" Government encouraged Saddam to take over the existing Iraqi government in the 1960s, sold him the gas he used against his own people in the 1970s and then promised we wouldn't get involved in a border dispute between Iraq and Kuwait only to bomb the heck outta them -- and try to recast Papa Bush as anything but a wimp right before an election -- in the early 1990s.

I sincerely believe as the years go by, the Baby Bush Administration will be shown to have been one of the most corrupt, criminal, evil Governments this World has seen in a long, long time.

And in a few short days, with a Dem controlled House and Senate, the their slope gets a whole lot slipperier. Is that even a word? :-)

(Funny. Writing Baby Bush made me think of Baby Doc Duvallier from ... oh, memory don't fail me now. Anyway, he was a horrible despot who killed indiscriminately, fattened himself and his wife with mountains of cash and eventually got ran out of their country.)

20. We killed Saddam because he knew too much,
about Rummy who sold him the gas, and Cheney who sold him the means to deliver it, in violation of law. Then, he was convicted of THAT, and executed for it. Couldn't have him testify that it was our Sec. of Defense, and our VP who helped him commit those crimes, now could we? Then, there's Poppy's part in it, too. Must protect our craven, obscenely wealthy "leaders" - it is just so sick, and I fear we will pay for this, when Bush sends in those extra troops.
They had to put George and Laura in an armored vehicle when the tornado churned past, wonder if they'll need that to leave Washington? I am SO looking forward to those hearings, too!

Baby Doc was from Haiti.

30. George H. W. Bush (Sr.) has played an instrumental role
As easy as it is to point to the current President Bush, so much points back to his father, the original President Bush as either the origin or executor of so much deceit, death, corruption and destruction eminating from within the US over the course of the past half-century. The dark energy has obviously been passed along to his sons. But Poppy himself is neither a saint nor the image of the kind, grandfatherly statesman he presently wears.

Or as I ask people, name something that you know about the personal life of the U.S. Presidents to serve in your lifetime. I bet you can come up with plenty of details on all of them... except George H. W. Bush. Try it and see for yourself.

I certainly feel the need for one. I have CNN on, and John Roberts was quoting someone at the White House (didn't catch who) saying that the execution was "a great demonstration of how democracy can work."

I think this best describes the situation that Bush is in now. Unfortunately, our country is spinning in the same vortex. Let's hope the Democratic congress can put us on a straight path.

9. I hope so, and I hope "it" will unravel the truth of what led us
to this moment. My greatest hope is that when the Democratic Congress investigates the "Intelligence" they used to start the war, the American people's anger will "be" that tornado, and demand their removal from power. But for now, I worry for what lies ahead for our troops and the Iraqi people.
In the interest of Fairness, I think I should admit that I fell nothing for Saddam - he earned his fate, but I can't get the words "Reap the whirlwind, George" out of my head.

It's like they're rubbing the iraqi's noses in it by doing on on a Sunni Holy Day - like they WANT to ignite a firestorm.

12. that is interesting
I was wondering, whether it is representative of negative energies...such as directed anger, because of the day and specific place - but then again, that would be unfair to the victims of any tornado, who obviously have nothing to do with negative energies.

Does Crawford, experience tornadoes often? It is a bit off the alley isn't it?

The torturing and murdering of Iraqis has become sport to us.

17. I've said this many times before. . .
One of my two spiritual teachers said almost 19 years ago that, "there will be another flood. . .it will be a flood of ideas." That was long before the internet or overwhelming distortion, concentration of and deregulation of the media, or the introduction of the notion of fractal chaos, and general information overload.

If air represents thought and ideas, a cyclone over Crawford on this bizarro and auspicious day is indeed a clearing of sorts.

May the truth be revealed.

Perhaps the blatant injustice that has sadly become common place will clear as well, and the heinous projections of * may come home to roost on the pig farm.

Funny how they always show those shacks and we've never seen the house itself. hmmmmmmmm.

18. The universe is quite poetic
A tornado over Crawford? Where's George--is he there? I read somewhere on the boards that he was going to hide out at the "ranch" instead of going to Ford's funeral, but I don't know if he went there early. If he is, that's even more poetic.

DH doesn't sleep well as a rule and leaves earbuds in his ears so he can hear the radio or radio shows on MP3 whenever he wakes up. "They executed Saddam" was the first thing he said to me this morning because he heard about it overnight. My response: "And that makes everything all right now, does it?"

One of the first things we learn is "two wrongs don't make a right" but it's the hardest thing for us to remember. I was sickened and disgusted by this display of barbarism and the guaranteed reaction of "woo hoo". :puke: So I took a moment to connect with the universe and send some white light to Saddam's spirit.

What I picked up was that our more spiritually advanced friends are disappointed at this event, but in the big picture it's not as devastating as we think. As for Saddam--after his earth-soul-remnant's initial fury over the execution, his spirit was relieved that this particular role he was playing is done. He reunited (or will be soon) with the souls of his sons, and he will start on his next phase shortly. I don't know if he's going to reincarnate or not. Maybe he hasn't decided yet.

21. Our government is showing its new colors before our eyes
Everything they've done as far as Iraq is concerned is shocking to many Americans. The ones who aren't shocked, no matter how outrageous these guys get, continue to bother me. America has now been responsible for a hanging in the 21th Century! They opened the gateways of hell when they first invaded Iraq. Now, they are making sure that every flame in hell rages. And we're all going to see the effects in the months to come. My stomach was in knots as well over this thing.

The Universe takes only so much and then it turns it around in kind. Bush has done a lot of damage in this world. He'll be running for cover for a long time. This tornado appears to only be the beginning of his trouble. 2007 is going to be a year of reckoning for these crooks.

who is heavily closely run by the Bush people. Also, that court put Saddam in U.S. custody until minutes before his execution. Iraqi government equals U.S. government.

22. I sent the Italian cartoon
Of Lady Liberty holding the noose to my spouse, who is away on a trip. He spent 21 years of his life in Rome, so I wanted to see if he had any cultural comments. He wrote back: That should be bush and Cheney holding up the noose, not the Statue of Liberty.

No cultural comment there but his point is appropos. Only bush's 11 per cent surge supporters are thrilled by this.

I cannot wait until the Democratic Congress starts showing the world that these primitives in the White House are not representative of Americans.

And further to that point, as I read threads on this in GD, I was surprised at the posters saying things like "we've really sunk." Not "we." Them. We are the victims of a coup, and let's never forget that.

It's sometimes hard not to feel guilt in what is being done in your name, yet none of us has been able to stop this panzer tank of an administration from mowing over everthing that defines us as Americans living in a democracy. It has proved that we don't have much democracy left if the voice of the people goes unheard. We have to start taking our rights and our liberty back.

that pre-historic weirdo ... *monkey* is too current on the evolution chart * actually has done some uniting. People I knew that were singing his praises, are not singing any more. One of my friends from 'those were the days' (before the madness got full swing), has even told me that I had a better read .. I was "right". AND?

Right. We cannot let up on the momentum. It feels to me sometimes like a very small tempest in a tea pot. But at least I think I hear a pause in the beating of war drums. Of course George is still beating it. But he's a nin-com-poop. Vision: the whole world is looking at him like a bad boy who went dirty in his diaper, even though he knows better. The world is at peace. But gw didn't figure it out yet.

I'm going with the peace vision.

28. This tornado reminds me of the sandstorms during the invasion of Iraq.
I thought it was the Jinn trying to stop our troops. I wonder if the Jinn came over to Crawford to release some of their own fury at GW for the mess he's made of their ancient homeland.  :wtf: :wtf:

As Stella stated earlier (was it Stella) tornados are whirlwinds - clearing the air, creating a stir, bringing in something new. Spirit cleaning up the mess. I still think they're Jinn though.

33. Cassie ..
Doomed indeed. I saw it before the first shock and awe. That in order to get our men and women out, they are going to be dodging bullets (done) and won't be able to just walk out. It could be that one reason gw doesn't get them out is because the logistics is over his head. And they don't seem to get the peace angle, even though they are great buds with the Saudis. Other than than, it's about 'screw you'. We could not even evacuate today. Know what I mean?

They were doomed from the moment that gw and the neocons had those evil thoughts. To get them out, is going to take more logistics than DoD has right now. Sad truth. It is a major screw up. Someone besides the American taxpayer needs to get the bill. And of course, new 'talent' to restore sanity.

when suddenly he'd get blown around for fifty miles and dropped from the sky from around 250 feet up, fallen in a corn field with a teaspoon flying at high velocity as they do in tornadoes lodged right between his beady eyes and a big piece of aluminum siding had sliced him in two, Bush would be the first president dead from being sucked up into a twister..What a legacy ..
