February 2008 Prayer, Light, and Healing Requests
Dear ASAH Friends and Visitors,

Let us welcome the month of February 2008 with a prayer from poet, Maya Angelou

Prayer by Maya Angelou

Father, Mother, God,
Thank you for your presence
during the hard and mean days.
For then we have you to lean upon.
Thank you for your presence
during the bright and sunny days,
for then we can share that which we have
with those who have less.
And thank you for your presence
during the Holy Days, for then we are able
to celebrate you and our families
and our friends.
For those who have no voice,
we ask you to speak.
For those who feel unworthy,
we ask you to pour your love out
in waterfalls of tenderness.
For those who live in pain,
we ask you to bathe them
in the river of your healing.
For those who are lonely, we ask
you to keep them company.
For those who are depressed,
we ask you to shower upon them
the light of hope.
Dear Creator, You, the borderless
sea of substance, we ask you to give to all the
world that which we need most—Peace.

******************************************
~And an inspirational invocation~

From Pashta Marymoon - september 13, 2001

Soul of our souls, Spirit of our spirits,
And the One embracing All,
Divine One, of infinite names and none:
Powers of East, South, West and North,
And all who weave the Universe:
I call to you, within and without -
This night, this rite.

Divine Air - bring imagination and creativity to the world.
Like the far-seeing hawk,
May we see this situation as the whole complex tapestry that it is,
And be in-spired with fresh and virgin weavings.
Like the unfettered winds,
May we be freed from old assumptions and patterns in how we respond,
And breath in new possibilities.

Divine Fire - bring clarity and compassionate passion to the world.
Like the bright light of the Sun,
May we see clearly the way-forward of "what is necessary" for all life,
And the time to come.
Like the transforming flames,
May our grief, fear and rage be transformed into compassion for all -
All victims and perpetrators alike.

Divine Water - bring yielding and wisdom to the world.
Like the gentle erosion of water upon stone,
May we release our personal and cultural biases,
And acknowledge the 'wrong-thinkings' that we may harbour.
Like the deepening twilight upon the earth,
May we remember the lessons of the past,
And contemplate their meaning for the future.

Divine Earth - bring greening and surety to the world.
Like the stretching branches of the tree,
May we stretch ourselves
Into the life-affirming paths of reconciliation and healing.
Like the deep peaceful dome of night,
May we stand firm in the Goddess and the God,

Through this 'dark night' of confusion and fear, and false 'stars'.
May our souls be strong, steady and revealing.
May our spirits be en-lightened, faithful and sure.
May our choices be wise and enduring, for the generations to come.

By all that is Sacred and True,
So Mote It Be.

...............................

from Thomas Merton:

In humility is the greatest freedom.
As long as you have to defend the imaginary
self that you think is important,
you lose your peace of heart.
As soon as you compare that shadow
with the shadows of other people, you lose all joy,
because you have begun to trade in unrealities
and there is no joy in things that do not exist.

And if you have the winter doldrums, here’s a relatively inexpensive remedy: try your hand at forcing bulbs to bring a bit of springtime beauty and fragrance into your home. If you are lucky enough to have pussy willow or forsythia in your yard, clip some branches and bring them indoors. Put the branches in a container with water and store in a dark place for a couple of weeks. Then, bring them out into a lighted room and they will bloom! My mother always used to do this every spring, and it really does the soul good to see the those glimpses of spring in the middle of winter.

1. What wonderful energy you're put into the beginning of this thread, japple!
Thank you so much for this and for volunteering to coordinate this month's threads.

I'd also like to thank MorningGlow for her dedication to January's threads; may she be blessed for her service to our group and to those who needed assistance in those threads.

I ask that the divine beings that work with us in these threads watch over this thread and help us in our efforts to help those in need who come here for support, love, light and prayers. May all those who still need help from past threads continue to benefit from all energy that is generated from this month's threads. Finally, I ask that all energy that is put into this thread be magnified by the love and intent that is behind our efforts.

To all who need help, we humbly open the door of this thread to you.

3. My husband
My husband is going through a very tough time. His Myasthenia Gravis is getting worse, his medication isn't working, and doctors we have seen brush him off, as his is a difficult case. His loving nature is now often hidden in a cloak of uncontrollable anger which at times has terrified me. Please pray for his healing on all levels. Thank you.

10. Great idea
I've never seen it this bad. Some of the infighting is uglier than any arguments we could get into with RW folks, and it's far sadder when we attack our own. Plus the mods are having a heck of a time playing whack-a-mole with all the trolls. Much sustaining light for them, and some energy for PEACE in GD and GDP (and any other forums the negative energy leaks into). :grouphug:

13. May I be the Doctor and the medicine
I went to a workshop yesterday that focused on the Energies of 2008. At the close, we were given a prayer to repeat daily in an effort to collectively combat sickness, hunger, lack of clean drinking water, and poverty. It is credited to an individual named Shantideva.

May I be the Doctor and the medicine,
And may I be the Nurse
For all sick beings in the world
Until everyone is healed.

May a rain of food and drink descend
To clear away the pain of thirst and hunger
And during famine, may I myself change
into food and drink.

May I become an inexhaustible treasure,
for those who are poor and destitute;
May I turn into all things they could need
And may these be placed close beside them.

Our yard is full of White Narcissus :)

I brought some into Mom's room.

Thank you

Thus, the suffering of everyone
Should be dispelled, and here there's no debate.
To free myself from pain means freeing all;
Contrariwise, I suffer with the pain of beings.
-from the "Bodhicharyavatara" by Shantideva

We might think, "If I meditate on compassion and think of the suffering of others, it will only add to the intense pain I already have." We only think like this because we are narrow-minded. If we do not want to help beings, then their suffering will be endless. But if we can develop a little compassion and make an effort to dispel the suffering of others, then that suffering will have an end. Without our taking the responsibility to help others, there can be no limit to suffering. When we develop a broad mind and feel compassion for others, this is vastly beneficial. Any small difficulties we might experience are worthwhile.

21. A request for a friend...
I would like to request some loving, healing, light vibes for my friend L. She has Lupus, and right now she is possibly going to lose one of her feet if the doctors can't stop an infection. She has had some real problems with her health over the past year, including a couple of times where doctors said she might not make it.

Please send her and her family lotsa love! Thanks you guys!

24. Can we keep Millie (my Jeep) going just a little longer folks?
Hope this doesn't come across as trivial (as compared to prayers for people's illnesses and such), but I reeeaallllyyy need my Jeep to hold together a while longer. (We're out in the semi-boonies, and not having a car is out of the question.) Millie has been falling apart piece by piece, bless her little 8-year-old, 156K soul; right now one of the hinges on my door is rusting out--the same door that fell off last August when the bottom hinge rusted out. Now it's the top one, which is much more complicated and expensive to replace. Can we do some vibes to help the door stay on, maybe just until Mr. MG gets back from his business trip, so I'm not stranded with Junior for several days? Thanks! :hi:

Yeah, that's what I did this morning when I got back home after dropping MG Jr. off with my mom and doing a couple of errands. The one time I pulled the door closed and it bounced back open (a sure sign the hinge is going) was the last time I opened it. Got home and skootched over to the passenger side to get out. And that ain't fun in a Wrangler, lemme tell ya! But even less fun is watching your car door yaw at a 45 degree angle. :scared:

Mr. MG took a look at the door--it's not the $$$ hinge. Instead, the latch is sticking. A little spray-on lube and it works just fine for now. Of course, it'll get worse the older Millie gets, but it's a pretty standard problem with Wranglers and a pretty standard repair...most important, it's a repair that does NOT entail replacing the whole door. PHEW! Thanks for the vibes!

48. A request for my Mom with a boss trying to pass the blame to her
The strange thing it isn't anything the boss needed to lie about but because the boss did and got caught in it the boss is now trying to pass the blame. This boss has already driven people off or gotten people demoted for no good reason again blaming them for mistakes the boss made. Mom is standing up for herself and others involved who witnessed events are as well but I would like to make sure there is a just outcome. In the past troublemakers got placated and those who spoke out were the ones punished so I worry that this might happen again. My Mom loves her job except when office politics rears it's ugly head so please send light, good vibes, Reiki, etc. for the best outcome for all involved.

68. My SIL Gerri
My sister in law is in the hospital with "bleeding and swelling on the brain." I don't know what happened -- my brother just sent out a group email to everyone in the family letting us know.
Gerri has a history of medical problems. Please prayer for her recovery, as well as praying for my brother and their son, who, I'm sure, are greatly distressed by this.

Thanks.

72. Okey dokey. Biiiiig Pluto conjunct Moon change over here.
Edited on Sat Feb-16-08 10:09 AM by BlueIris
Without going into the gory details, let's just say that some Moon things of mine which have been "broken" for a while just got "fixed." This represents an improvement in my life, but...I don't know where to go from here. Yes, I will get the aid of a professional about the change, which is sort of health related, ASAP. And I think some more Bach's is in order.

Send whatever light you feel is appropriate.

73. So....I'm still sick.
Which I am taking as a sign that I needed to rest (!I really can't slow down much more than I already have without being...in slowmo?). I believe this is also due to the fact that I ran out of my Ayruvedic remedy because my husband and best friend needed it, so I wanted to make sure those of us with jobs got over it first. I can't find it anywhere in town, so I'm going to have to order it off the internet ($20 is an ouch for me right now). So I've just been riding it out.

Also, I've come to the conclusion that as much as I am content with the fact that I have chosen substance over money in my life, it's time to buckle down and start earning some serious stuff for my future. I have retirement savings, but they are in stocks, and the Universe may choose to take that along with everyone else's, in the big lesson that America seems to be learning about conventional financial institutions and their predjudices. So, I don't know that I can count on that to be there. I found out this week that a large investment that I had made close to four years ago, has failed. I'm not even upset about this, really, as I was aware a year ago in my higher self that it was already 'gone'; but some days I still revert to feeling guilty for being irresponsible. I believe it was part of a lesson for a friend of mine, and that's ok, but it's still too bad.
So, I am newly determined to make use of the skills I have. I would welcome any light and vibes to this end, to help me find a way to achieve the thing I need. There is a specific thing I need to get done to be able to be effective and go back to work, but it is a large monetary obstacle, although not insurmountable. I am completely determined to find a way to accomplish this, but the way is not clear. I am certainly ready for it to be!

Sorry to ask for so much, friends. I appreciate all that you have given me and continue to give me. I'm not talking much here lately, because I have felt the need to just 'be'. I appreciate your continued patience with my Leo flighty-ness.

Love.:grouphug:

P.S. Oh! And I can certainly see how there are two 'worlds', as it were, now. Kind of like how Karen is talking about when we have to deal with the lower vibrations. There is the world we are mostly in, where I don't think the recession and etc. will be very harmful to those of us who understand what is going on, and are choosing to reside in the positive - then there's the world that seems to be very obvioulsy exampled in GD-P!! and also mostly in GD. I admit to sometimes letting fear creep in when I read too much in there. I mistakenly think I am safely in the positive enough to be able to read those without being drawn in...then I find myself in fear. It's a hard habit to break. I think I'm going to immerse myself in a bath of positivity, both phisically and mentally.

92. My cousin Cindy is in dire straits. Has MS, can only move one hand, ready to give up
From what I can gather through the family grapevine the husband is neglecting and Cindy has only one other relative who is willing to help my Grandmother who is about to turn 90 and a heart condition. Her other close relatives are either dead or haven't been in contact for years.

My grandmother called my Mom this morning telling her that Cindy wishes she could end it all, in despair herself trying to take care of her own ill husband who has Parkinson's without setting off her heart. Cindy's husband is no help and often hinders sabotauging what help my Grandmother tries to give them. So Cindy called Gram, Gram calls my Mom, Mom then wakes me up to tell me everything and now I am frazzled trying to google some sort of help for her and I am to phobic to calling to find some sort of referals from the local crisis center & help line down in FL myself esp. as I am getting info 3rd hand here and don't even have the currant address & phone of Cindy  I gave my Mom the numbers and she said she will give them to Gram when she gets back from her grocery shopping.

on a possibly selfish personal note I am sick of being the family emotional garbage dump/processing unit. when something bad happens people want to tell me and say ain't it awful, ain't he a jerk, ain't it sad, get outraged, angry and sad and then do nothing about it when there might be something that would improve the situation. If I point out there might be help to be had 'but don't you think it's AWFUL?' 'but isn't so and so a JERK?'. yeah it is, they are but what, if anything, can be done instead of just sitting here talking about how AWFUL it all is? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

97. Thank you so much!
I just finished sending Reiki to Cindy and the rest of the family. I got my Mom to be proxy part way through the session and she promptly feel asleep after laying back in the recliner. It's a good thing we don't have a table yet or I would have to wake her up so she wouldn't roll off in her sleep. Oh dang I forgot to clear her home! I will do that after this post. I like to make sure the area a person is in is clear and anything out of whack healed so I know their problems won't be exacerbated by a negative ley line or something dreadful that happpened decades ago on that land. I am consciously sensitive to things like this while most people are unconscious of how badly stagnent energy and old emotions stuck in an area can effect them.

I know it is up to me to find better ways of dealing with this instead of getting angry that most of humanity refuses to recognize psychic energies and take responsibility for their emissions :p I don't think so much stuff would be dumped on me if they didn't get so much relief from it. And I need to accept that not everyone wishes to find solutions or at least a productive use of the energy generated by stress. They are willing to settle for venting. Me - I can't just shove emotion away. I know it always comes back later twice as ugly to bite me on the behind. If I don't try to find a healthy use of the energy I fall back on unhealthy ones like overeating.

101. I'm sorry that this is happening to you, Shallah.
I've found that people really enjoy the drama associated with situations like this. Once you refuse to play the game with them, they'll stop doing this to you, I suspect. However, you have to be consistent about it. I recommend that you go directly to the solution step, and if they don't like it (i.e., still want to wallow in the drama), gentl tell them that they'll have to find someone else to do that with; that focusing on that brings you down. (I speak from experience.) I have gotten quite good at telling people what I'm willing to put up with and what I'm not in reference to things like this. I consider it taking care of myself. I tell them that I'm choosing to focus on the positive (taking action) rather than on the negative (complaining, etc.). (For me, nothing brings me down faster than things like that. It feels as though my energy is being sucked out of me. :()

I will send energy, love & light to Cindy. It really sounds as though she desperately needs a break. I will also ask that the Universe helps her to get her situation under control. (This or something better for the highest good of all involved.)

Please take care of yourself, Shallah.

I am praying, ok, begging, daily, for my life to not be such a struggle. I am having real problems with my job and my health and I feel like I'm slipping through some cosmic crack, and everyone is too preoccupied with their own problems to care. Gerri is in critical but stable condition. She has some physical movement with her fingers and feet, and is aware. For the next several days – perhaps a week or two – the focus will be on stabilization and more recovery. Then, the doctors will assess functioning levels and begin to develop a rehabilitation plan.
Please continue to send her light and prayers. She's only 51.
