The Solar Eclipse of February 6-7, 2008, in Aquarius

The Solar Eclipse of February 6-7, 2008 in Aquarius
by Robert Wilkinson

The coming Solar Eclipse will have a very significant impact on us all. All eclipses shut something down, taking away elements of our lives no longer "true" for us. Aquarius is the sign of collective expression, larger ideals, group efforts, and the exteriorization of Leo, the sign of personal love. Thus a form of impersonal love will be shut down, with the void sure to attract new forms of expressing this energy. This eclipse is conjunct Neptune, thus will both trigger and shut down some Neptunian elements of the http://www.aquariuspapers.com/astrology/2008/01/spiritual-astro.html">Grand Irrationality.

This Annular Solar Eclipse occurs at 7:44 pm PST, 10:44 pm EST on February 6, 2008, and 3:44 am February 7, GMT/UT. It puts mid-Virgo rising in California, mid-Libra rising in EST, 13 Sag rising in London, 16 Sag rising in Amsterdam, and 22 Sag rising in Estonia. Istanbul has 20 Capricorn rising, Bagdad has 14 Aquarius rising, Johannesburg has 17 Aquarius rising, N. Delhi and Trivandrum both have 30 Pisces rising, while Bangkok has 28 Aries rising and Tokyo has 22 Gemini on the Ascendant. W. Australia has early Taurus rising, Melbourne has 25 Taurus rising, while Brisbane has 6 Gemini on the Ascendant.

In eclipse lore, where the Eclipse is visible will be where the greatest effects can be expected, lasting the number of years that the eclipse is long in minutes. Partial phases of this eclipse are visible primarily from eastern Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific, and most of Antarctica. This would seem not to bode well for our Southernmost continent, and therefore will probably impact the rising ocean levels for a number of years to come, with immediate results the next two years plus, due to the eclipse duration.

Though triggering the Grand Irrationality, the New Moon is semisquare Pluto, showing an emergent "crisis of development" and a turning point in power structures affected everywhere. The lunation is part of a grand lineup of points in Aquarius, including Moon, Sun, Mercury RX, Chiron, Neptune, and North Node all in that sign, and so it will profoundly affect the Gemini, Cancer, Leo, and Virgo planets and houses in our charts through lessons learned in mid-to-late Aquarius, calling us all to a higher self-expression. I outlined some general influences for this Eclipse stellium in Spiritual Astrology in January-February 2008 Pt. 2.

2. Hey, stella, are you saying that there's no such thing as 30 degrees anything?
Just want to make sure that I'm "getting" it. :)

3. Yeah it's kind of screwy.
Because the first degree of any sign is the zero degree, the 30th degree of all of the signs is eliminated and actually becomes the zero degree of the next sign.

The last degree of a sign is 29 degrees & 59 minutes.

I've only ever seen the 30th degree referenced in Marc Edmund Jones' "the Sabian Symbols in Astrology" book before seeing it referenced today. That book doesn't count the zero either.

Edited on Mon Feb-04-08 04:26 AM by rumpel
and he does a lot of karmic stuff - missing cassie :(

on edit: That reminds me! I wanted to post about Sabian symbols. As an experiment I've figured out all the Sabian symbols of my chart and my family, and then I got stuck - what do I do next?

When you are at that site, he writes something interesting about what happened to him with google.
maybe they are getting too big...

5. Got to love the Grand Irrationality.
I've been reading Wilkinson's posts about that since '04. Both horrifying, and hilariously energizing, stuff.

7. The pre eclipse got me today,
or was that a speeding shopping cart in Target's parking lot?

Turning left into a parking space, I thought I saw, out of the corner of my eye, an orange flash from the right, as I started pulling into the space I heard a loud bang. I got out and couldn't see anything so I locked the car and walked around to look at the rear passenger side door as that was where I heard a crash, and it was smashed in. There was no cart to be seen. However, the parking lot video at Target showed a cart smashing at full speed into my door. It was windy and now I have a big dent! Talk about bad timing. Stinky!

plus, a kick for your thread!

8. Awww, that's too bad, OB.
Whoever didn't return that cart to the return station has some bad karma coming to them. x(

Sorry that their irresponsible behavior hurt you.

9. No it was in the cart corral and it escaped. It was really windy.
Here is another weird thing though. This morning we were archiving old pt files and we went to file them in the back but the filing cabinet was gone!! A huge filing cabinet and no one has a clue where it went. It was there two days ago though.

12. Wow, it must have been incredibly windy because your area is quite flat, isn't it?
In reference to the filing cabinet, that sounds like a problem with the space/time continuum thingamajiggy. :D

The first time someone ever called me a B**** was when I was at a grocery at night and someone left a cart out. I walked it down to the corral and gave it a shove to go in, but it veered off and almost hit a guy's car. He was parking in the FIRE LANE. He called me that name as I walked into the store. I was mortified.

So, not knowing the circumstances, the karma may be fine.

**ps I said "first time" because after that I had a really crappy boyfriend. That was the LAST TIME. ;)

11. Yeah, you're right, vsm. It just drives me crazy when I see people...
unload their carts and then just leave them. I live in a really hilly area, and, more than once, I've seen them rolling down the hills from the shopping centers and go into major traffic. People could be killed when things like that happen. (In flat areas, it's probably more just an inconvenience usually.) I guess that it's one of my pet peeves.

Now, in your case, that's too bad. Good thing that the crappy boyfriend's no longer in your life.
