Just reading the thread about super dark Tuesday and I have a |
|
question. I'm hesitant to ask this question, because it's probably a stupid one. (I know, there are NO stupid questions).
Does every state vote in the primaries or on Tuesday? Like Missouri?
I follow politics (well I've been out of the loop for about six months due to a death), but I don't understand this time period of how we choose our candidates. Is there a "choosing candidates 101?" Thanks for your help.
I love this forum (Ast. spir & Alt. Healing).

1. Hi, onecent! Maybe this will help. |
|
http://www.gwu.edu/~action/2008/chrnothp08.htmlI'm not an expert on the process either. Pennsylvania doesn't vote until April. x(

2. onecent, I wish I could help but this is the first time I |
|
have really followed the process this closely and it seems like they are changing the rules as they go along. I know this doesn't help, but maybe you should pay attention closely and take notes. I don't think there is any sense. I downloaded a calendar of the primaries and even the dates changed in January unless the website I got it from had the wrong information.

3. Sincerest Condolences and it is confusing. Many states have changed their primary dates |
|
very recently. It's often referred to as "front loading the election" but might not have it's decisive desired effect. We'll see on Wednesday.
Some states felt left out of the process when the nominees in the past had been determined by 3 states. So many states moved their primaries forward.
Michigan and Florida were penalized by the Dems and their primaries have been thus far disqualified but some are trying to change that.
Twenty two states will be voting on Tuesday.
Let's hope they are a fair representation of the will of the people for a change.

4. I saw this schedule posted in GDP earlier today. |
|
Had to go through 7 pages to find it now. There sure is a lot of posting going on over there. This shows the schedule and I found it helpful. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x4370772
