Need some positive thoughts, prayers to get my teenage son and his oversize instrument back to school from LaGuardia to Boston tonight. US Airways is messing around with him and refusing to fly him on the last flight of his trip... for no apparent reason other than they can. So... positive energy would be appreciated.
Thanks, rosesaylavee

4. Very arbitrary decision... |

Called the Port Authority as he was being tossed from US Airways to Delta and then back again. Port Authority guy was nice and this was borderline behavior said 'call a cop'. So I did and he was able to get my son over to a line at American. Hopefully there are some good people there who will help him get back to school. He had paid $80 for oversize on the two other legs of this trip but they were in Phillie and Boston. His instrument was 15# over and some one felt that this was against their rules on this last leg. I think they saw a 17 year old kid and saw a way to deal with an overbooked flight. What's a kid going to do about it anyway?
We won't be flying with US Airways or United again. Very poor customer service for both airlines. We booked thru an online service and the person at United said well, we could help you if you had booked thru us. Very poor service. Unbelievable really. Thankfully the cop was able to help him out.
Thanks for the positive energy for this situation. I have to say I am struggling to feel any positive energy at the moment.

I'm also sending energy and light at the situation in the hopes that someone will take it upon themselves to get this problem resolved for your son.

I think the most distressing part of it was that we were so helpless to help. We had no clout, no leverage. If it weren't for the cop, he would trying it all over again today. There was more to it, but I have probably added enough negativity to it... didn't sleep I was so upset.

I think I will be contacting that gentleman and enrolling my son in their membership. The police finally were called and a nice officer helped him get to another airline (American) to book a flight back to Boston. A half trip cost him an additional $350. According to US Air in NY he was 15# over the limit. And though he had been paying over sized fees on the first two legs, they bumped him from that flight and refused him on any other flights that evening.

He is back at school. There was some more turmoil before he made it to bed last night but he is safe and sound now. I so appreciate the support here. This is a very special forum here and I am so grateful to be here.
