Peak Oil imaginings, just for fun
I guess it's not really fun, but I wonder how all of you see life being different once the oil supply starts to dwindle. Joe Lieberman has sponsored a bill in Congress that has a goal of cutting our oil consumption by 70% by 2035. I'm no fan of his, but wonder if he knows something we don't. It would certainly be a draconian change for us all.

I can't help wondering if the real deadline for this peak oil stuff is 2012.

So, how will things change? Will we all ride bicycles and walk more? Work closer to home, live closer to work, or work from home? Will we be fitter and more connected once we get out of our cars? Will we be closer to the earth, eating seasonal produce once again, reduced to root vegetables and canned tomatoes in the winter, rather than strawberries and asparagus imported from Mexico?

I can think of a million things, but I'd rather hear from you. And anybody with astrological insight into the whole question, it'd be nice to bring this thread back to the proper realm, huh?
