I think I'd find some place better to haunt, like Bloomingdale's.

I'd imagine that there are a lot of pretty strong emotions in a police station. I always kind of thought that some places take on a sort of "charge" fueled by strong emotion.

Seems plausible to me that a police station could manifest that.
