April 2008 Prayer, Light & Healing Requests Thread-- thread Two
The Lord’s Prayer

Oh heavenly source of all radiance
Soften the ground of our being and
carve out a space within us
where your Presence can abide.

Fill us with your creativity
so that we may be empowered to
bear the fruit of your mission.
Let each of our actions bear fruit
in accordance with our desire.

Endow us with the wisdom to
produce and share what each being
needs to grow and flourish.

Untie the tangled threads of destiny
that bind us as we release others
from the entanglement of past mistakes.

Protect us from being seduced
by that which would divert us from our true purpose,
but illuminate the redemptive opportunities
of each passing moment.

For you are the ground and the fruitful vision,
the creative power and fulfillment,
as all is gathered and made whole once again."

This prayer was posted by stellanoir a few days ago as the translation straight from the original Aramaic into English. Quite a different 'feel' that the one most churches use after being translated from Aramaic to Greek to Latin to English.

5. Well somebody has to be first.
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((rumps)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

You'll pull it together sis. I know you've a whole lot on your plate.

Can't believe it's only the 9th and we're already on the second thread.

A few things, Pluto went retro on the 2nd. On the 4th, Mars went over the degree at which it went retrograde last November. Saturn will go direct on May 2nd.

So the Martian influence is suggesting the availability of some long awaited forward momentum of changes folks have intending to initiate last fall. The other planetary stations suggest some lingering inertia though. Venus in Aries always brings with it a modicum of impatience. So it's really truly a mixed bag.

That's my readers digest summary of convoluted astro rationale for why the prayer thread got so long so early in the month, and I'm stickin' to it.

Thanks for sharing that translation further AZ, but I still love the prayer you put on the 1st prayer thread just at much.

What a rough road he has.

I was in NYC yesterday, and, it was quite warm and sunny. But, I left at about 4:00 PM. I know by me (about 50 miles north), there was no rain, and it was mild later on). I feel for him that the weather by him was not as kind.

26. Request for my Great-Aunt Polly, Mom of my own Mom's friend and more
My Great-Aunt Polly has had Alzheimer's for several years now and has been bed ridden in a nursing home. She has been gently fading away until she got a bad flu and could not eat. They put in a feeding tube until they could ask the family if they wanted artificial support. They said no and took out the tube. It is only a matter of days until she crosses over. I have felt her deceased husband right by her side waiting to help. They were, and I feel still are, such a devoted couple and she started to fail after he died. My Great-Aunt always was like I imagined Mr Rodgers of Mr Rodgers neighborhood must be like so very kind and gentle. Please send light to assist her gently on the way and to help her family and all who care for her cope.

My Mom's friend's Mother has been treated for cancer and her doctors have massively bungled several things filling her full of infections including one that isn't treatable by any antibiotic and in a coma. I don't know the lady's name but I trust that prayers and light will still go her way so please send to her help her in whatever manner serves her highest good.

I would like to ask for help for myself and my Mother again as that danged flu is still lingering in both of us leaving us feeling drained of energy and phlegmy.

30. Thank you. I know it is her time and maybe past time
Sometimes people stay for the sake of family on earth. I was so grateful that I could feel my Great-Uncle right there with her patiently waiting to guide her and so full of love that he is constantly beaming to her that my mere human heart ached as it strained to contain something so powerful. I have shared this with the family members who don't think me nuts for being a bit psychic and I hope it comforted them as it did me to know she is surrounded and embraced by such love.

I ask for the Universe to help Great-Aunt Polly so that her crossing is peaceful, pain-free and easy. (This or something better for the highest good of all involved.) How wonderful that her deceased husband is so close to comfort her.

I ask that the Universe help your mother's friend's mother. May the healing light go to her in a way that she can easily handle. (This or something better for the highest good of all involved.)

Finally, I'm sending healing energy to your mother and you. I hope that you're both easily and quickly returned to healthy wholeness very soon, Shallah.

37. Protection vibes for President Carter please
I just read that Jimmy Carter is being denied security during his Israel visit.
As I'm old enough to remember all the work he has done as peacemaker, I'm feeling very saddened at the moment.
However, I know that he continues this work for peace, so I'm sending out "reinforcement" good vibes to him.

Some days I just don't recognize this world anymore...and, yet persistently keep on visualizing a better one.

BTW, thank you for the translated prayer, it is sooooooooo much better this way, IMHO.

My 6 year old daughter fractured her tibia today in a weird way, and will be seeing an orthopedic surgeon. Obviously healing and comfort vibes for her are much desired.

For me, I need the vibes that my body does not break down during the period of time that she is unable to bear weight on it (she was not given crutches at the urgent care tonight, they just splinted it and told us we need to keep her completely off her feet until she sees the specialist).

Thanks in advance.

56. I would like to ask for healing for myself
Edited on Wed Apr-16-08 08:51 PM by SocratesInSpirit
I'm going through a bit of a crisis of faith at the moment. Well, not so much a crisis of faith, but a crisis of religion.

I was raised Catholic and used to be quite the preachy little goody two-shoes. But when I was a teenager, I started questioning things. In catechism class, I'd debate with the teacher while the rest of the students would look at me in bug-eyed horror for having the temerity to be contradictory (especially when I said I could not swallow the idea that the Pope was infallible). Because I do not agree with several things the Church teaches - and have serious issues with the way females are relegated to second-class citizen status and the way the Church has tried to hush up the sexual abuse of children - I am derided as being a "cafeteria Catholic" and told I should not receive the Eucharist because I don't toe the line like a sycophantic automaton. Fine, thought I, why even bother to attend mass, then?

I have not set foot in any sort of church for over a year now - I have a hard time seeing religion as anything other than a tool that is used by hypocritical men to keep the masses in their place. Yet I still hunger for a faith community. I believe in a Creator, but I think He (for lack of a gender-neutral pronoun) is grander, wiser, and more loving than we can possibly fathom in our limited perspective.

I have recently made friends with a woman who is a devout Catholic (law of attraction - shows I still have issues to work out, LOL). This friend has the gall to tut-tut my use of birth control, but she doesn't bat an eye at premarital sex (both of which the Church condemns). Also, my mother is a devout Catholic, and she frets over my not attending church. But she also cherry-picks the rules she will follow as well.

Even if I was content to take what was useful and ignore the rest, the simple fact is: I don't believe in the Catholic Church anymore. But the problem is, I can't seem to let go of the guilt over letting it go (this is not helped by the well-meaning concern of my devout family and friends).

You may be wondering why I'm posting in this forum, but it's because it's one of the few places I feel love and tolerance. I am drawn to new age ideas, even though I possess no psychic abilities. I have been following the Kryon channels, and he said that to truly know the nature of God was not an easy path. I guess you could say I'm in my "wandering in the desert" phase.

Sorry if I sound bitter or petulant; I'm just a tad frustrated right now and could really use some good vibes from you all. :)

Edit: fixed minor typos

57. SIS, are you really me???!!! LOL! Most of these words could have come from...
Edited on Wed Apr-16-08 09:34 PM by I Have A Dream
me a couple of decades ago.

It sounds to me as though you are a spiritual person rather than a religious person. To me, they're totally different things; a spiritual person needs to be able to follow their truth regardless of where it leads them. It was only when I gave myself absolute permission to conduct myself this way that I felt happy and complete. I suspect that the same will be true for you. I have a very strict code of ethics for myself, but it's not based upon any particular religion's ethics.

I also was brought up to be Christian, and I tried that path, but it led to my feeling unfulfilled and stifled -- almost as though I were half alive.

Have you ever tried visiting a Unitarian Universalist Church? It sounds like what you need to get the physical community that you crave. Otherwise, I welcome you into this group with open arms.

I am sending you much love & light. May you also feel the loving arms of the Universe at this time so that you know that you're on the right path. At this point, you just need to give yourself complete permission to follow your heart where it leads you.

60. Thank you for your kind words, I feel less alone...
I definitely agree that spirituality and religion are different things, and that I need to let go of the old ways that are keeping me mired in fear, but there's a primeval part of me that whispers hellfire awaits if I dare to fully detach myself from Christianity. Intellectually, I do not believe this, but my emotional side hasn't caught up yet.

I have indeed considered the Unitarian Universalist Church - for when I feel moved to return to a church, that is. I'm rather enjoying my freedom for the time being. For years, I dragged myself to church, but I've promised myself I will not set foot in a house of worship (besides for weddings, etc.) out of guilt, fear or obligation. I just don't have it in me to do that anymore. I'm at the point where the guilt of not going to church is outweighed by the guilt of going to church. It's an evolutionary process. :)

Like you said, I've got to give myself permission to follow my heart. Still working on that... :)

It feels very freeing to get all this out in the open, though. Thanks for listening.

61. I was only free when I told myself that I'd rather go to Hell than live my life...
out of fear, especially of God. (I intrinsically knew that this couldn't be what God wanted.) Once I gave myself permission to completely follow my heart, the flood gates opened. Remember to listen to the quiet little voice that you hear; as you know, it's your higher self talking to you -- it's not Satan, as religion tells us to control us.

I totally understand about not wanting to go to any church. I only mentioned it because it seemed as though you were looking for kindred spirits. I don't feel the need to ever set foot in a church again; I've found plenty of kindred spirits outside of that venue.

Good luck, and if you ever need to "talk", please feel free to PM me. I've been through exactly what you're going through. (Actually, I suspect that most of us here have.)

64. Thanks, I Have. We're checking him over.
Edited on Wed Apr-16-08 10:16 PM by BlueIris
We had to corral him from the neighbors backyard, where it at first appeared he was bleeding all over the place. But we've given him a bath and can't find any actual cuts. Don't know which vet to call yet because we can't determine where the injuries are or how serious they may be. It's strange, and has me seriously freaked out. We love him so much.

67. Household and employment vibes, please.
My husband's employer just told him it's time to look for other work. This is not the first time, and there's been a long history of temper and irrationality. It's for the best that my husband not work for this man, and I want him to easily find work that is fulfilling, enriching, and accomodating.

Thank you.

69. May he find an appropriate new position with ease.
The Saturn station on May 2nd makes for good timing for him to move forward and secure something with a far more centered authority figure.

When the fear hovers, consider visualizing him getting up in the morning being happy to go to work.

Best of luck to both of you.

He and I just went to lunch, and we talked about exactly that.

One good thing about this is that he wasn't fired outright - he has the job until he finds something else. What I want is that "something else" to come along quickly, so as not to prolong working in the current environment.

I'm sure it is coming.

73. My father is back home from the hospital
he had out-patient surgery to clear infection from his sinus cavity. The procedure went without incident. Both parents aren't as mobile as they used to be, and my mother does not handle stress like she used to and things get to her more than they used to. She has asthma and gets tired very quickly. She stresses, moves around, gets tired, and then she can't do anything. Please hold a good thought, because I'm sure that I'll have to run errands after work. I'm sure that my brother that lives nearby and works part-time won't be available and they're gonna have to wait for me and traffic to die down.

77. Vibes for me please
My Great-Aunt's funeral is tomorrow which is a many hour drive I am dreading as I have wonky digestive issues that are triggered by stress and anxiety as well as other things. Then there is the anxiety disorder w/panic I already have and oh, yeah, to put the cherry on top it's PMS time. To add to the weirdness I have had some wonderful spiritually expansive sessions with my therapist who combines bodywork with psychotherapy so I am bouncing back and forth from sitting and grinning at nothing to wanting to crawl off into a hole and hibernate until all of this is over with.

I really want to be at least miminally functional tomorrow so I provide what support I can to my family and show respect for my Great-Aunt. And try to not feel guilty because I am not grieving because I know she is back with her beloved husband and all the others she loves who crossed over before her. I have sensed this and a psychic friend has as well when i was telling her how guilty I feel. She saw them together and a bright orange light. My Great-Uncle had vivid carrot red hair nearly until he died so I know she truly connected to them.

think of your aunt being free of her earthly toil and floating among the stars. if the other folks wonder why you're smiling, just tell em you are remembering all the good times with her.

just make sure you use the time on the drive to have some of those 'good time' stories ready.

80. Light for elshiva in the Lounge.
As some of you know, elshiva has had some major issues related to an unhealthy (former, I hope) partner and unsupportive family in the last year. She may be making some improvements there, I don't know. Since she popped up again, a couple of days after I sort of got a vibe she would be around, I'm hoping everyone here will send white light to her in support of her continued personal evolution. Thanks.

91. I'm in some physical pain...
Something I'd rather not get into happened last night, and I ripped off three fingernails and have a lot of bruising. I'm in quite a bit of nerve pain (fingers throbbing and excruciating to touch) and am finding it hard to do normal tasks. This sentence took forever.
It's my own fault, although I believe it actually did serve a higher purpose, so i very humbly ask for healing thoughts.

OW OW OW.
