Maybe let's consider just getting back to getting along.
We're all in this together and we are all ONE after all.

How difficult is it to be pleasant really?

I am well aware that this campaign has gone on so long that it has worn on people's sensibilities.

Yet this forum has never in my experience had so much acrimony until very recently.

Let's perhaps envision a better world to come instead of indulging in any further personal attacks.

Peace.

3. Stella, I've been away for a short time (had a little drama all my
own going on), only to come back to find the safe haven in complete disarray. Good news is, my drama will soon result in peace, I have a feeling this thread will somehow manage the same outcome.

So, in retrospect I wonder what the heck astro influence is playing out? I'm going to walk softly the next time it plays out, but then again, some things are lessons, mine was. Amen to your request, let's learn and move on.

4. Well there are a number of them in terms of influence.
Pluto's retrogration. Mars going over the point at which it went retro in November. Saturn's pending station. And the pending Venus Mars square.

People have their knickers in a twist, basically.

Hope everyone just chills.

Peace again.

13. I think we should blame Az and her grease for the lack of knickers.
They simply slid off.

With the number of people who responded down thread to the whole knickers issue, I'm ready to start a poll about them.

It would be far more fun to argue about them than about the candidates really.

Ya know. . .in England "to nick" means "to steal."

When I lived over there, a knicker nicker was tormenting the entire country. He'd steal underwear off people clotheslines and leave heaps of them in abandoned cars by the side of the road all over the place

So people had to dry their underwear indoors in the bathroom.

It was really quite amusing.

that'll help deflect the "it's all ccpup's fault!" barbs and left-hooks I've been getting.

I, too, am grounded like an ancient tree. But even us old-timers need to take a break from the blame game now and then.

10. Sure
But what about those *two* people in the davsand poll?

It only takes one or two.

And to think they could have picked "other".

Maybe we need a poll guessing who they were. Ha! That thought amuses me. Bet they wear knickers!

12. Bet those particular knickers are made of sandpaper.
Seems like a seriously chapped a** is the ONLY possible explanation. (I know it makes ME cranky, with or without knickers!)

I was trying to spur discussion with that poll and it looks like a mission accomplished from my vantage point. People are sensitive about politics right now, there is just no doubt about it. I'm not an astro person, but I'm sure there are probably some major things happening that are contributing to the generally high level of angst and anger these days. In any event, I can see that our group is split right now (still) on the merits of candidate specific discussions in a Primary.

Alllllll rrrriiiiiiiighty then! There evidently IS no compromise to find, there IS not even any interest in compromise (even in the interest of group unity!) Now I know where I am at with it all.

Remember back a long time ago when I put up an opening in a prayer thread about feeding the cat you want to make stronger. I am at a choice point here. I can feed that "Bad Cat" or I can feed the "Good Cat." Stella, bless her heart, is working really hard to feed our good kitties in here, and I support her on that without reservation.

I will still scratch and claw at anyone trying to stuff any kind of bitter pill down my throat (or worse) but I will not hunt for it either. What I WILL hunt for is what makes me feel good and what I can share that will feed our better nature.

Brightest blessings to you all. This too shall pass.

Laura

25. Well
In as much I LUV that the Dixie Chicks wrote that song and had yet not seen the video (so thanks for posting the link), I'm not quite sure it fully applies in this context.

To me "making nice" sometimes suggests a certain degree of falsity, pretense, or compromise. Though obviously, compromise is of course a truly great thing, but it's sorta premature as this contest continues to drag on.

I wasn't talking about "making nice" but perhaps just BEING nicer, more respectful, and more enlightened in our exchanges, even when we agree to disagree thoroughly. We don't have to lower ourselves to character assassinations in expressing our points of view is all.

I often say, "It's all in the delivery" and that "I can verbally annihilate someone's point of view with a big smile on my face and by injecting humor, without resorting to shredding another's character or integrity.

I wasn't talking about the battle for the nomination in and of itself.

I was talking about how the discussion of it in this forum on a couple threads had digressed and become extremely and unnecessarily hurtful to people who I care very deeply about.

Perhaps we can just all take a deep breath, and try to determine the best way to respond having compassion for whomever we are responding to BEFORE we react.

In my little world, ideally, conflict only arises to raise the consciousness of all the parties involved.

Slinging mud only perpetuates the conflict. I am NOT accusing you of doing that in any way shape or form. I'm only trying to elucidate what motivated me to post this thread.

Thanks again for the link.

Peace anyhoo.

26. Stella, you can harp on about it, but I'm not over it.
I feel I was unjustly stomped on here.
Some have come to my defense, and I appreciated that; however, the ones who went after me are allowed to stick around and gloat.
A pox on all of them. and I am not over it.
