3. That cartoon brought to mind an old episode of "Little House on the
Prairie". One of the Ingall's children met an older woman, and one Sunday, he found her out by a creek, under a tree, and he asked her why she wasn't in church. She said something like, "This is my church."

That really struck me, because I, too, believe that a church doesn't necessarily mean a building. Rather, it is a place where one's soul is renewed and recharged. If that takes place in a building called a church, that's fine. But it's just as fine if that renewal and recharging takes place under a tree, next to a creek.

And, one doesn't really even have to call it a church; it's the feeling one gets that counts.

I never watched the show, but that had to have been a pretty profound moment on TV way back then.
