Galactic Diplomacy
(interesting site...so tired of the lack of human diplomacy-pls note: I am not endorsing this site/group-just thought it rather fascinating)

Welcome to the Home of Galactic Diplomacy

This website is dedicated to the development of 'track two' or 'citizen diplomacy' with extraterrestrial civilizations. This is a process whereby individuals and groups with no official government standing can establish contact and communications with extraterrestrials in ways that promote peace, fraternity and cooperation between humanity and extraterrestrial civilizations. This process is designed to complement 'official' or 'track one' Galactic Diplomacy that is secretly conducted by appointed government representatives without the awareness of the general population or elected political representatives .

The Galactic Diplomacy website offers resources in terms of seminars, courses, articles and communications with extraterrestrial civilizations that will assist individuals and citizen organizations in developing the necessary skills to contact, communicate and interact with extraterrestrials. A chief goal of this website is to promote diplomatic solutions to the challenges that confront humanity in becoming a galactic society while most of the human population remains unaware of the extraterrestrial presence and of secret communications, agreements and interactions between extraterrestrials and select government agencies.

To begin your journey to understanding 'citizen diplomacy with extraterrestrials' or 'track two Galactic Diplomacy', it is highly recommended that you first read the following article that outlines this process:

1. I think I read somewhere that it's illegal to
deal on behalf of others with aliens. Now, we can get picked up by them, etc, but we're supposed to take them to our leaders.

If they were American Dr. Who's companions would be fugitives. But then he doesn't invite Americans, which are only cast in his show as evil geniuses or power-mad militants.

2. Americans as evil geniuses or power-mad militants...
Oh, how reality-based.

<sigh>

Nice one, hitting my softball outta the park!!

The Doctor did (reluctantly) travel with Capt. Jack Harkness -- he's from the future but sports the American accent

4. What do you think of the Doctor's
most recent incarnation? I really really liked the last guy. I am glad they were able to hold on to old Rose.

6. Ahh, Nine
I really like how David Tennant plays the Tenth Doctor and he's as cute as he can be. He's the manic to Eccleston's depressive as Nine, though.

Tennant can pull off lovesick and compassion and a range of happy emotions very well - better than Eccleston in fact. But he doesn't do dark or ruthless as convincingly. He can't come close to being the dark hero that Eccleston portrayed. Eccleston's guilt and suffering was just delicious, but too mature to sustain on a children's show.

In "Fires of Pompeii" (2nd show of current season - you can watch it on bbc's website!!) they actually had Ten repeat lines of Nine's from "Parting of the Ways" (last episode of season 1). I rather think it was the only way the director could hope to communicate the depth of the Doctor's pain... by channelling it from Nine.

But overall I think Tennant makes the better Doctor.

7. Manic is a good word for his portrayal...
I will have to get used to him. I preferred Eccleston's interpretation. If I had to choose which one to travel with, he would seem to be the smarter, more clever person with a sense of humor.

Glad the series is back on PBS. We used to watch these back in the 80s and had lost track of it.
