New kitten at my place.

My roommate came home from a late meeting tonight with a new kitten. Yeah. I don't know. Didn't really see it coming intuitively or in any other way (Mars in Leo?). This is one of the strangest things he's ever done.

She's pretty cute, though. Doesn't have a name yet. Non-plussed about being relocated from a fruit stand by the side of a highway to our house. Won't sleep in a box (seems to prefer a tiny blanket and a firm floor). Five, six weeks old.

Mostly, I just wanted to give lildreamer a heads up, because the last time we got new kittens, so did she.

My roommate, who didn't like the names I came up with for the kitties born last May, has final approval, but apparently I am in charge of cat naming again. She is too fiesty for most of the ultra-girly names I have come up with so far.

I love animals so much. I wish my place allowed pets but unfortunately they don't. I will probably move not too long from now into a place that allows pets.

6. I've taken to naming my kitties after deceased family members.

So far, I have one named after Aunt Lola from my Dad's family, and one after Aunt Mildred from my Mom's side. I have HUGE family trees on both sides of the family, including ancestors named Socrates Darling and Ehud Darling.
