Yesterday I saw an 8 year old kid on a bike get hit by a car |
|
fortunately, he only had scrapes and bruises and bad scare. I told the young woman who was driving how lucky she was, and she said "I've had such a bad day already." I told her that I hoped whatever was going wrong for her got better, but that her day had just turned around, because it could have been so very much worse. If that kid had his his head on the pavement or something...
This isn't a post about astrology or sprirituality, but just a note of caution. Please, everybody, if you're cycling, wear your bike helmut (this kid was not), and stay aware of what the drivers around you are doing. If you're driving, please, please, be aware of the cyclists and pedestrians out on the road.
With the rising price of gas, there are a lot more people out there walking and biking than there used to be. When car and bike collide, car always wins, so please be careful. I would not want anything bad to happen to any of you. Thanks!

2. I absolutely agree, Callie. I've recently been thinking the same... |

thing. It's so easy to go on auto-pilot when we're driving; staying actively involved with the driving process is something that takes effort but is a must.
I'm so glad that everything turned out as well as it did.
(Thank you for caring about us!)

on a bicycle when I was a teenager. It was HORRIBLE. He wasn't seriously hurt either. We more or less hit each other at the same time. He was crossing in a crosswalk (on the bike), but traffic had stopped and I didn't realize it had or that there was a pedestrian ahead. The cars to the right were blocking my view. Plus there was the fact that I learned to drive in Texas but was living in Arizona when I got my first driver's license. The driving laws of the two states were quite different in those days. I'll never forget him rolling across the hood. I think the fact that he was in good health and physically fit account for the no injuries. No one wore bike helmets back then.
I know how shaken an incident like that is. Glad it prompted you to post the caution.

4. How overwhelming for you. I remember watching a |

friend who I went to school with in the morning get hit by a car. He turned his bike into the drivers path in the middle of the road to cross over. He went flying and landed on the hood of the car. He was alright, but I was stunned for several hours after that.
