I was going to post this in the fiction books forum, but I decided that this might be a better spot.
I read this book yesterday; a short, simple tale that was both soothing and energizing.
The protagonist, Santiago, is a shepherd who steps out of his comfort zone to find his treasure. To fulfill his purpose in life. It requires risk-taking, and spiritual growth along the way.
As a lover of tales, of stories that connect, that teach, that fulfill, I found this one to be quietly satisfying.
Has anyone else read this one?

1. I bought it and started to read it, but I set it aside for some reason and... |
|
haven't gotten back to it. I'm glad to hear that you liked it; it gives me reason to go looking for it again in my many piles of books that I've bought, started to read, but have not yet finished. I must have some sort of attention deficit disorder given how often I do this type of thing. :eyes:

I always have a stack of books I'm working on, but if that book doesn't feel right at this moment, it will wait.
I have plenty of professional reading to do. When it comes to the rest, I read what calls to me, when it calls.

8. My niece read it when she was 7 and loved it. |
|
However her older sister said it was a little sexist...lol! Apparently the female character doesn't get to go on adventures like the main male character...or something like that.
