It seems that energy healing types did their magic on petri dishes, and caused tendons and bone growth factors to grow better. Heh. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=222x38696 Thought this was on topic enough here to crosspost from Health.

1. Wow, I am totally impressed |

With the hornet's nest.......
They HATE peer reviewed published studies showing that reiki works.
Fear, fear, fear.
I'm going to have to infuse some love into my own thread. I knew it would cause an uproar, but nothing like this. I think what gets 'em is that the study was so.......clinical--kind of a perfect study.

I feel like I need a psychic shower!
I will forward this to my Mom at work to read during break. Hopefully she will let me have a go at her bones w/Reiki and see what we can do for her osteoporosis!

4. Wow, I read the link and the posters responses |
|
One poster obsessed with his penis and the other one totally ignorant of healing thru touch.
I'd have to say she "rubbed" me the wrong way. Now I feel sick reading her posts.

6. the interesting part of all of this |

Is that so many of them are so illogical in their objections. I am as left brained as any of them, and I can tell you that most of the posts had no basis in logic. I think that is why some of the skeptics just totally avoided the thread.
I actually agree that the study needs to be replicated. But so what? It should be an interesting study to skeptics. Instead they call for the researcher's head, etc.
I am used to all the stuff thrown around in Health, but I have to admit I was taken aback by this. But I actually had to laugh a little bit. I did get a post removed (one of the penis ones) that, unbelievably, was so outlandish and off the charts it made me laugh. I almost didn't even report it.

5. You are very brave and wonderful! |

Reading the thread I'm reminded of how very angry people get when the are presented with information that they can't handle.

7. Wow - not just zealously skeptic, but RABID. |
|
It never ceases to amazine me to see the level of disrespect our skeptics will stoop to. It really speaks poorly of their character.
