Any traditionally-published authors here?
And, has anyone heard of O Books (in the UK), also known as John Hunt Publishing?
There's the potential opportunity to be published through them, yet they are different (though I like different!)...not a traditional publisher yet not self-publishing either...they seem to be a hybrid.
Just wondering if any of you wonderful people have any knowledge of them as readers, authors, anything?
Thanks :)

2. There are sometimes very |

good reasons to go the self-publishing route, so long as you understand exactly what you're getting into, and have realistic expectations about what you can get out of it.
I myself am not familiar with any of their titles, but there's certainly a theme there, which strikes me as a good thing.

3. It seems to have a fair-minded model. |

The info on their website is decent, but it doesn't say anything about promotion. They offer authors "access to marketing databases," but what does that mean? If you're talking with them, or do talk with them, also ask if you get any free copies - all our authors get a number of free copies (I work at a university press). The quantity is negotiated, and I estimate it ranges from 5-30 copies.
