I pay a lot of attention to Vedic astrology, which places more emphasis on your moon sign. It's supposed to influence us even more than the sun sign. The rationale is that the moon is much closer than the sun. So the moon will influence us more.

There are days when I feel more like my Moon (Capricorn) then my sun (Taurus).

I'm just thinking off the top of my head , but isn't the sun sign show how you react to situations, the moon is how you think and feel about problems, and the rising is how other people see you?

With a Cancer Ascendant. Maybe it's all of that earth, plus Saturn in my Third House? I do think and feel in a very Saturine way that maybe overshadows many of my Taurean traits. But when I was younger, my Taurean traits were much stronger and stood out more.

It's interesting that my sister also has a Capricorn Moon (Pisces Sun, Scorpio Ascendant) and it is true what they say about people who are familiar with each other and share moon signs -- they never really have to explain their feelings to each other. You just "know" what the other person is feeling. Or at least, maybe you can relate to each other very, very well.

can be very much alike,probably the Earth element and both working hard for security.

But there are subtle differences....

I see Capricorn with my humor, it is dry and observant. Taurus tends to like slapstick more.

Taurus wants security to feel calm and peace. Capricorns want financial security for the power and recognition it can give.

Taurus are generally pretty and age themselves prematurely with food, wine and partying.
Capricorns are average to not so average looking and look better with age, due to great health(in later years), sensible living and confidence.(no flame-wars over this broad generalization, please!)

Well, I could go on. I do have to say that my really close friends have been Caps or other Tauruses. I think it is because there actions are predictable and I know where they are coming from.

2. Taurus! I read somewhere on this forum (I think!) that signs frequently

group in familes? My family is chock-a-block full of Taurus signs! Myself, daughter, grandson, 2 out of 4 grandparents, father, multiple cousins, aunts & uncles, ex-husband - makes for veerrrry interesting fights & feuds! Kinda like the mob infighting when the hornet's nest gets stirred up enough (but that does take some doing). The rest of 'em are dominated by Cancers. LOL

My Mom & grandmother were also Cap moons with my Grandmother's natal sun exactly on my moon!
