Wow! Have you seen Rahm Emmanuel's chart? Explains everything!
He has 4 planets in Scorp, most of them conjunct. I don't know what time he was born so I can't speak for the degree of his moon sign, but you know that story about how he was stabbing the table with the steak knife declaring "Dead! Dead!" about certain politicians he felt betrayed the party?? Well, check out this chart--no surprise at all

http://www.alabe.com/cgi-bin/chart/astrobot.cgi?Y

(In the event the link doesn't come up, Rahm was born 29 November, 1959)

In the interest of full disclosure, I've been trying to find a reason to eskew my belief in astrology. I'm an agnostic, I pretty well think Darwin had the right answers re human origins and that our presence here is either very simple or so complicated we'll never figure it out. Casting horoscopes doesn't fit in with my scientific or pragmatic leanings.

But then I see charts like this one, and I just can't NOT believe!!!!

1. link didn't work for me, but

everything I was reading about him today was saying "Sag sun" to me, so seeing his birthdate doesn't surprise me. My sister is a Sag, and I've had a lot of female Sag bosses in my life. They all have had in common a loud mouthed, blunt, snap judgement (usually wrong, in my experience), shoot from the hip, "you only exist if I need you" attitude.

Not my favorite people by a long shot, and to be honest, having a Sag as Obama's gatekeeper does not bolster my confidence.

Which planets does he have in Scorpio?

6. Sags make me laugh
I know they can be blunt, but they're usually up for fun and love to have adventures. My best buddy growing up is a Sagittarius, and I remember having such great adventures with her. She's now a no-nonsense business woman (with some of the qualities you described -- she can be blunt, and she can sometimes make snap judgments), but we still have great adventures when we travel.

I guess I just felt the need to defend Sagittarians. Thanks for letting me say my peace.

7. sags make me laugh too
except when they do harm and make me cry. Unfortunately in the case of 3 specific sags (2 bosses and 1 sister), they did that a lot and it was intentional. All 3 hated me -- and 2 said as much -- not based on anything I'd actually done, but my simple existance. One was sorry later, once she got to know me I became her "favorite" employee and she tried to undo some of the damage. But the fact is I'd be financial much, much more secure right now if it were not for her 2 years of abuse.

I also wish people would stop blaming all negative attributes on planets in scorpio. I have Sun, mercury and saturn in scorpio.
RFK had sun in scorpio. HRC has sun in scorpio. While I sometimes fantasize about revenge, I always try to direct my hurt and anger to positive action, believing the best revenge is being successful somewhere else.

8. My father's a Sag sun.
He's not like what you describe at all. Quite different in fact. A leader yes, brilliant of course, but measured, calm, reasoning and very caring. Doesn't emote. etc.

So I don't know the Sags you know.

Cheers

12. maybe it's sag men versus sag women
or maybe I have known some quiet sag women without knowing they were sags. Only the 3 nasties that will never be forgotten, although it seems that when I run into women with similar characteristics they turn out to be sags or at least fire signs (I don't mix well with strong aries either). Or maybe your father has a lot of other planetary influences that moderate the sag. Or maybe he's an "evolved, old soul" sag, versus an "unevolved, new soul" sag. Or maybe your family is a better blend than mine was, and your karma is such that you don't run into the loud and abrasive sags.

All I know is, I get tired of people always blaming negative characteristics on planets in Scorpio, when I can think of plenty of people with those same characteristics who have little or no Scorpio.

From my experience, Rahm's negative qualities fit the sag women I've known more than the scorpio men.

It is, however, also true that a couple weeks ago in lab, when one last bit of magnesium was bubbling forever no matter how much hydrogen chloride I added, I started poking it somewhat savagely, yelling "Die magnesium, die!" But that's only because my lab partner, professor and I wanted desperately to finish the $&*#@$!!! lab and head home.

2. Pink
first of all, he's a Sag.
secondly, depending on his time of birth, if he's born late into the evening his moon could also be in Sag.
THat leaves Mars, Mercury, and Neptune in Scorpio, but, Pluto squares at least the Sun and Jupiter. So, I think it's very
fair to guess that he has lots of Scorp energy. Sun/Jupiter in Sag makes him very forward-thinking. We REALLY need his birth time.

3. I would like to know his birth time too!
The chart was set up for 12pm, and the moon was @ 24 Scorpio. If he was born closer to midnight, he could have a Saj moon. But the planets we know he has in Scorp--Mars, Mercury, Neptune--they're all conjunct @ around 25 degrees. That means they're focused and working together.

I too am a Saj, born 16 December, 1954, and I too have conjunct planets in Scorpio--Venus and Saturn. I also have one of those ambitious Jewish families, just like Rahm. (But I'm from the slacker branch of it, so I'm just a working-class prol.) Anyway, as I understand us Centaurs, we're usually too spontaneous and flighty to stick with something long enough to make it work. I knew Rahm had planets in Scorp the minute I read about his stabbing the table and declaring revenge! Also the rotten fish story sounds like a Scorp revenge tactic with a Saj over-the-top attitude.

And Northerlights, sorry our personality isn't your style--most of us really aren't malicious, we're just verbally clumsy. I have a Virgo moon, which has saved me many times from chomping down on my foot, but can't modify that sun all the time!

4. Thought about getting birth times of famous people.
You might be able to access birth records where they were born if that information is available. I don't know how stringent Hall of Records people are about giving out information to anyone but it seems it would be harmless information to give out.

Wow. Leo and Sag. I hope Rahm never gets PO'd at Obama.

This is one interpretation of the loss of the middle finger on his right hand (Saturn finger) >

9. The other thing about Saj, in my experience,
Edited on Sun Nov-09-08 11:57 AM by Callie McAllie
is that they are excellent negotiators. My brother is a Saj, and while he can be blunt, and guilty of snap judgements, to his credit he is usually right. Even when I find it hard to accept or believe his judgment, time has proven him right, despite my longing for another outcome. And he negotiates for a living. And he loves to have a good time.

As for the Scorpio energy, please, people, get over it. In defense of myself and all Scorps everywhere, let me remind you that Scorpio energy is not always evil energy. That vindictiveness can be there, true, but it doesn't have to take the form of stabbing. Success is the best revenge, and Scorpio energy is leadership energy.

So he is a leader and a negotiator who makes quick judgements and will cut the heart out of anyone who crosses him. I could think of no finer right-hand man or partner for President Obama, who is thoughtful, deliberate, calm and very willing to work with all parties. He needs Rahm at his side, for protection and balance.

Plus, haven't you wanted to stab a knife in the table when thinking about Bush, or Cheney, or Lieberman? Don't they make you that angry? Because they make me that angry. It doesn't mean he'd actually stab them, even if he could. It's a metaphor, a release, a catharsis. Better he should stab the table, I say.

Moon sign is crucial. Am I correct in understanding from the other posts that his moon is either Saj or Scorp? Could it be something else, something far more tempering?

11. Okay, please consider this my apology to my Scorpio compatriots! Saj strikes again!
Guys, I never meant to reply that Rahm's attitude (the fish, the table stabbing) was a BAD thing! As I said, I have Venus and Saturn in Scorpio, nicely sextiled with my Virgo moon--I've never regretted the Scorp energy. Also, my sister, who just had a birthday on the 6th, is a double Scorp, sun and moon. She's the REAL pit bull, totally protective and would rush out in front of a speeding truck or threaten someone who hurt those she loves.

I see nothing wrong with that kind of fierce passion, especially if it's channeled into looking after President Obama's best interests. I was just curious as to what makes Rahm tick, so I looked up his birthday.

And to be totally honest, I'm rather embarrassed to say I think he's sexy. Once I saw all that Scorpio, I understood why!
