Taurus Full Moon: What do we really Value?
This Scorpio/Taurus Full Moon addresses our shared values, our money issues and our ability to transform ourselves if we hold to a higher vision. So let's all vote again for that higher vision of change that was voted into office on November 5th.

Whether you voted for Obama or McCain, we find ourselves in the midst of a sea-change which began in the 60s and which will continue until at least 2015 if not beyond. This second phase began on Election Day with the Uranus/Saturn opposition, which will occur 4 more times through 2010. In 2009-2010, Saturn in Libra will square Pluto in Capricorn, and in 2012 Uranus in Aries will also square Pluto in Capricorn, bringing the three planets that initiated the 60s revolution into relationship once again. These astrological aspects will constellate the Hero's Journey I've been speaking of. The squares force the issue, asking us to move beyond old habits and ways of thinking to discover a new vision. Thank goodness, it's happened just in time. We need to transform our society.

This Taurus full Moon will bring up some of the dark emotions that Sun in Scorpio is struggling with. What about our finances? Is Obama really a change agent or is he part of the establishment? Will the banks steal our money or is this bailout going to work? What is this change that we've voted into office? Now that the election is behind us, how do we get back to work and to our lives with a changed attitude?

Part of the issue is to understand how change works. First we have to understand what emotions and beliefs keep us stuck. The Sun is in Scorpio, a fixed water sign, opening us to mull (or obsess) over deep emotions. These are emotions that need to be released and transformed. With the financial crisis looming large, we need to transform fear into courage, indecision into focused intention, anxiety into centered stability. Mars, which rules Scorpio along with Pluto, gives us the necessary warrior energy to stand up for our freedom. Scorpio also rules shared finances, shared values and death and rebirth. So let's put our money where our mouth is and invest our energy into life-giving strategies in our work and personal lives and release what is old and outworn.

The Moon in Taurus asks, what do you value? What kind of life do you really want? (Taurus usually votes for a peaceful life filled with beauty and sensual delight!) Taurus is a fixed earth sign, the most dense and stubborn sign of the Zodiac. And yet, it is the sign of our values and is ruled by the Tarot card the Hierophant, the Teacher of the Sacred Ways. The mystery of Taurus is that this Earth we live on is also spiritual and sacred. Many believe that we are at the bottom of the Kali Yuga age of materialism, and that we're about to shift into a more enlightened age.

To do that, we have to understand how as a culture we have glorified the material at the expense of the sacred. Taurus wants to teach us how to get back into balance. The material is the Sacred if we have the right attitude. As our monetary system falls apart (there is rumor that soon we will have a new monetary system with Canada and Mexico called the Amero) it's a good time for each of us to really think about the value of money in our lives. If we all did, perhaps we'd decide that our obsession with making money has cut us off from real life.

If we don't have the money to buy our technological toys, perhaps our children will go back outside and play. If we develop a healthier attitude to work, perhaps we'd work less, buy less, and enjoy life more. We'll have time to be with the people we love. You can continue to play with the idea that maybe money is in fact worthless in terms of creating a fulfilled life. We need to begin to re-think our priorities so that the change we help create will be a REAL CHANGE, and not just a costume change.

1. very good article.
I'm in agreement.

I decided that our society had reached its absolute low point last summer. I saw "The Dark Knight", and I sincerely wish I hadn't.

It was nothing but pointless threats and violence. Absolutely depressing and horrible. There were lots of other movies with nothing but pointless violence, reflecting the zeitgeist of hopelessness under Bush.

And the other people who saw it when I did saw NOTHING WRONG with it. :banghead:

I'm an artist, musician and actress. People need to be exposed to positive things, without necessarily sugarcoating.

3. This was great!
Our society *does* need to be transformed and I think we're ready to make it happen.

I love what you have to say about the glorification of the material and the shift into a more enlightened age. Please expound more upon this.

Oh and tell us more about Pluto moving into Capricorn!

Also, you brought up a little bit about the Sixth Day - do you mind if I copy it/link it in the post I started a few days ago? I'm trying to find all I can about these next days/nights in the Mayan calendar.

Thank you, Wickford!

(PS-love your Sabian symbols!!!)

The 6th day thing comes from the book I mentioned. I'm still digesting it. Sorry I can't offer more - I'm still trying to figure it out myself. Of course you can post it.
