Is anybody a fan of "Ghost Whisperer"? |
|
I think they screwed the pooch on this one. Last week they killed Melinda's husband and this week had him reincarnate in the body of a guy who just died. I really don't know what to make of it and I think they killed what was a fairly entertaining series with a romantic understory.

1. Hey!! I never miss this show. LOVE IT! |
|
I think you might be right.....but all through tonight's show I kept waiting for her to wake up from a "bad dream"? Still could take that turn, but ....we'll see. I expect her to turn up pregnant as another bit of irony!! How many more weeks does this season have to go?

2. I don't know how they are going to fix this. |
|
I looked at their message board and the hard core fans are really pissed about it. I don't know if the actor wanted out. Maybe that was it but surely they could have done something different or given him more money to stay. I don't know how many more weeks they have.

8. In interviews, he didn't say anything about wanting out.. |
|
but it's possible he may have decided not to broadcast that.
I don't really like it either. In the preview for this week's show; you get that he wakes up in this guy's body and does not know Melinda - then they cut to someone who explains that most ppl don't remember their immediate past life; the one just passed. But then there's a clip where Delia (sp?) says to her that she is getting a second chance at the love of her life; so he must remember or something at some time.
I dunno. I don't really like it; but I guess I will wait a bit before completely condemming the whole plotline.
BTW, what message board are you checking? Thanks!

12. It's the official site for Ghost Whisperer message board |
|
http://www.cbs.com/forum/forums/byCategory/37.pageIt's kind of cumbersome because the latest posts are not on top but at the end so you have maneuver over there. I'm not a member but just lurk hoping maybe someone has some spoilers as to what's happening.

3. I love "Ghost Whisperer," as well, but I really wish that they would |
|
cut the angle of spirits never coming back. I was hoping Jim, and I forget the name of her best friend who died several seasons ago, would make appearances instead of killing them off completely. I mean, really, in my experience spirits do come back for visits again and again once they've crossed over. I'm really not liking this Jim as a walk-in situation. It's just too freaky for me. What if the guy had family, kids, people in town who still know him? Well, maybe that's a whole storyline they're working.

If they ever got back together, she could be sleeping with someone else's husband's body. Also, on their own message board, one of the posters brought up the whole thing of possession which she thought to be from the dark side. I was sort of hoping that the writers had him on life support pending organ donation. In the part where she couldn't plan the funeral I was hoping that he was in a coma and his spirit was determining whether to go into the light, or fight for his life, but then they had the funeral which sort of put and end to that. I know the actor wanted more from his role, but I thing making a father out of him would have accomplished that.
What were they thinking!

|
haven't really messed things up by killing Jim off, and having him possess someone else's body.
I did read an interview with Jennifer Love-Hewitt, and one thing she said several times was that we should remember that things aren't always as they seem on the show.
So, I guess we'll see.

their romantic even though married relationship and Jim is such a hunk yet the actor plays him with sensitivity, something not too common with handsome actors who tend to be narcissistic. I miss Prof Payne too even though that actor got a new show. There was some chemistry between him and Melinda. Maybe if his new show doesn't work, he'll come back and maybe he and Melinda will get romantically involved. Then I guess Jim will have to killed again so he can cross over. Y'all can see where my mind isn't wrapping itself very well around this new twist.

10. Yeah, I was always a little confused by Prof. Payne. |
|
I felt a definite romantic plot line and thought, uh-oh, what's going on here. And remember how awfully hard Melinda cried when he left on sabbatical? Maybe I read it wrong and Melinda loves so very deeply, but I really liked their chemistry a lot.

...I am really, really sad they killed off her husband. I loved their married life and their desire to have a baby, and what story line that would take. I did not know the professor is now on his own show. What is the show and is he the same character? I am hoping she wakes up from a nightmare myself. The husband is just central to this show imo.

14. The new show is "Gary Unmarried", a sitcom. |
|
Edited on Mon Nov-17-08 01:55 PM by Cleita
It's pretty formulaic and mediocre IMHO. Kind of a waste of the actor's talents. Professor Payne was a rich character with many nuanced layers. Gary is a divorced dad. I really don't think it was a good move for that actor even though he is now the main character and star of the show.

I kept waiting for it to be a dream but I guess not. This seems the direction they are going and I think they have lost me.

17. Not to sound cynical.... |
|
...but my first thought was that Jennifer L-H wanted to play with a new hottie and that as a producer she would have that authority.
Maybe the guy getting killed off was no longer learing at her cleavage like he used to....
I know I'm getting tired off 'it'....
Remember Bobby Ewing.

Just got done watching it, and it was better than I thought it would be.
I was really angry when Jim died, but after seeing this week's episode, I'm thinking they may just be able to pull it off.
We'll see.

I mean, so they have all decided it's Jim's spirit and they somewhat got rid of Sam's family, but whom is she going to sleep with eventually? It will be Sam's body. I just have a little ewww reaction about this right now. A little bird is telling me that she might get pregnant and Jim's spirit reincarnates. Of course they have to kill Sam again. So Melinda becomes Jim's mother. I'm still finding this creepy. I hope you have better thoughts about this than me.

Though I don't know why we have to go through conniptions. I was perfectly happy with the way it was going or ready to accept (wasn't happy about it) Jim is dead. Hopefully, they've settled down behind the scenes and will continue with good episodes.

because I thought it was such a copy-cat. I really really like "Ghost Whisperer" but "Medium," to me, is more powerful and realistic with the family life, her boss and police officer she works with.

|

get limits what I can download in a twenty four hour period so entire shows are off limits for me. It really bums me out because I have a computer now that can do all kinds of amazing things but because I'm rural, my broadband is rationed and what I have isn't that cheap. It really sucks and I'm rather angry about it. However, thanks for posting the link for other people who might want to watch it.

Do you come close to your limits? I think on that site you can download them to play later. If you had something like the download manager, GetRight, you can pause the download and resume it later.
How do you monitor your usage? Do they just cut you off when you've reached it?

27. They actually slow me down to dial up speed for 24 hours when I reach the |
|
unthinkable to them excess. One of their techs put me on to something similar that you are talking about to partition it or something. But by the time I started to mess with it I got pissed off. Instead I think I'm just going to back up any politico that's trying to get broadband in rural areas. In the meantime I live without. I have been getting DVDs of old TV shows when I can find them in the bargain bins. They play very well and I might find "Medium" in them as well. I actually acquired all nine seasons of the "X-Files" for practically nothing. I forgot what a good show it was and now it's so timely. It's like Chris Carter was psychic and predicted so much that has happened in the last eight years.
