Yesterday, Nov 20,2008, as I sat watching TV, a scorpion appeared from behind the TV,

making its way straight up the wall.
(tho they are quiet creaturs & prefer to remain secluded I still find them very creepy, same as my aversion to all quiet crawly-legged things, spiders, cockroaches etc.)

Here's the question:

Yesterday, Nov 20, 2008 was my 55th birthday. I am a Scorpio.
I find the event somewhat significant but not sure as to what that may be.

I captured it in a glass vase and later set it free outside, in the woods nearby.
Maybe it showed up here in N Texas since the night temps are cooling or came in the dog-door of the house.
Don't know. but I just thought it odd that it appeared on my Bday. I'mhoping it means good fortune but the creepy feeling I get when thinking bout it, tells me I need to consult the greater minds of DU.

1. No need for the creeps; the scorpion is a powerful totem.

I think the appearance of an actual scorpion on your birthday is significant. 55 is a master number in numerology, hooked up with a double dose of "5" energy...creativity, adventure (sometimes adversity, but not of the gloom-and-doom variety). Scorpio is also related to sex and sexuality. Might be a new relationship on the horizon, maybe a deepening of an existing one.

But I'd say transformation is high on the list of probable themes for you in the coming year.

A scorpion saying howdy on your 55th birthday is something to appreciate. At the very least, consider it a birthday blessing from the Universe!

And don't worry about being creeped out--one of my former elder's totem animals was the snake, and she couldn't abide the critters.

The one thing you might want to do is learn as much as you can about scorpions in order to overcome your fears and develop an appreciation for them. It's always good to make friends with your totem animals!

I agree w/BI also. The fact that this happened and you noticed itis a sign to you to pay more attention to yourself this next year. You are correct that scorpions prefer to remain out of sight, so I feel this symbolizes the fact that you should "get out in the open" more & reach for the sky. No more hiding yourself under a barrel. Let your magnificent personality show itself off more!

6. Happy Birthday!

I absolutely agree with the others, a scorpion climbing up your wall on your birthday would be a sign to take note of, even if you weren't a Scorpio, IMHO. The universe sending you a message. Now it's up to you to read it.

I love it when things like this happen to me. I'm not always sure of the message these animals are sending, but it always makes me stop and think about what the message COULD be, and maybe that's enough.

I am a cappy, and I have never sen a GOAT on MY bday...you are really special! All kidding aside, it would surely seem it was a symbol for emowerment by the universe. I think the fact that you honored the beastie and set it free is significant too! There was no confontation, no violence, just a good vibe and even if you had the creeps, you didn't react to the visceral human instinct of "kill it!"

so I think that is a good sign that you are honoring yourself in new way...
Have a special year! Scorpions are truly transformational totems... I don't know where you live, but watch for the other symbol of higher evolved scorpio energy, like the eagle (or the hawk if you don't have any nearby.)

You should have a little window of heightened awareness since your BDAY energy and timing (55, wow, cool) is stil resonant for ....what? maybe a month or a moon cycle around your appearance anniversary here on the planet. congrats again for showing up at this time in hisory to be part of the shift, too!

8. Thank You to all DUers responding to my amazing Bday gift..a real Scorpion.

I have read and thought much about what you all said.
I was much more aware of totems & universal messages 20 some years ago, when I studied, believed, and lived my days in complete spiritual awareness of the universe.
Though lost somewhere in the shuffle of life, I am now at a place where I feel a need to reconnect with that higher self. One that seems to take place on an instinctual level, as I live my earthly days.

I must say that the vision of the scorpion on the wall is haunting. I have no inkling as to its message for me, but I suppose the desire to evolve in spiritual cosmic awareness, as I once practiced, is a good guess.

Thank You all and I do feel, after surviving many dark and tragic years, I am blessed, content, and anxious to reconnect with the universe.

As everyone here on the ASAH board has found out--and is still finding out!--we're at a very potent period in our individual and collective spiritual development--individual insight, which will then affect the whole. It's an amazing time to be a seeker, that's for sure! The Universe is saying "Come ON! Get on the bus!"

11. As a fellow N Texan (Ft. Worth area), bringing you some awareness with Scorpions

I use to live sort of in the country, and we had scorpions in our house ALL the time. So, as a PSA, be sure to check your shoes before putting them on; boxes; well just about any place that consumes any amount of darkness.

My lil' brother seem to always get stung by scorpions. I was very fortunate to never have been stung, even though one night J. was sleeping with us and he brought one to bed with him:scared:
He was stung several times.:cry: He got stung by one playing with an empty box, that poor kid seemed to always find them and they were not fond of him.
