Odd psychic moments
Hey! I'm psychic! However, it seems I'm tapping into stuff that doesn't quite...matter. So to speak.

Example 1: The other day the word "whippoorwill" came to mind. Why? I didn't know. The next day, I was reading Stuart Little to MG Jr., and there it was on the page.

Example 2: Today, MG Jr. was watching SpongeBob, and while I was in the kitchen, one of the episodes came to mind...and 15 minutes later, there it was on the TV.

Example 3: I thought fondly of one of my favorite episodes of Top Gear (the British TV show about cars) where the lads accidentally burn down a camper. Today I noticed Mr. MG had set up the new DVR to record the show, and the first and only one it snagged was a "best of" show. I wasn't going to watch it, but I did, and it turned out that two-thirds of the best-of show happened to be...the bit where the lads accidentally burn down a camper.

Now...if only I could harness these powers for something more significant!

Just wanted to share the oddities of the Universe! :hi:

1. Join the club. I get a bunch of crap too, or the message is so cryptic that
I figure it out after the fact.

Except that I picked up on some odd things just to show I'm capable of it.

2. Maybe your guides are testing ...
... to see if you're paying attention! You are, clearly. So let them know you hear them and then see what you get. I get all kinds of seemingly inconsequential things and often, I just have to ask them to clarify it. And they do. :)

Let us know how this works out. I love to test out stuff like that just to see what comes of it.

3. Yeah, I was thinking that
Kind of checking the frequency, so to speak. And reminding me that I'm capable of something like that (which, I'll admit, I do tend to forget). Who knows? Maybe I'm supposed to start working on my spidey sense now.

25. Isn't that the truth!

Reminds me of the few times I've heard my name called... and no one's there!
Each time it was a female voice, too. None of my male guides seem to work that way.
The last one was the weirdest, with whomever she was tapping on glass like on a window, only over my bed (second floor apartment, headboard to the windows), waking me up, then calling my name. And I'm like "okay...what?"

5. That's the way my intuition works, too. Ever read a book called "Practical Intuition" by
Laura Day? It gives great advice for how to interpret the otherwise useless intuitive info your brain collects all day long.

6. me TOO!!
just bizarre stuff........I think I remember posting about it here.....predicting something Anderson Cooper said on air about everyone turning their lights off while watching a baseball playoff game.

What the??????

It would be a lot more useful predicting the stock market.

But when the oddities happen, it is kind of head turning fun!

Thanks for sharing. I guess we are all in this together.

What the...? indeed!

I was just thinking how the last time I got these weird hits was when I was 12 and just starting to discover my abilities. Maybe I'm being reminded to get back to my roots!

I'm just glad there's a place like ASAH to share the weirdness--and get sympathy and feedback! :hi:

9. This happens to me and husband all the time.
It really is usually insignificant stuff, tv and radio and words and etc. We laugh about it a lot. We sometimes almost 'use' it to get a particular show to come on if we want to see it.
Maybe the Universe is just getting us used to manifesting stuff?? I dunno.

13. I think you're right
And now that I've had time to sleep on it, I suspect it's because of what I've been reading--a couple of books by Echo Bodine, the healer and psychic. I think the Universe is confirming what she says in her books--that anyone can heal, that everyone is psychic. I "know" this on an intellectual level, but I guess I need to be reminded of it in a more practical way. I've often had psychic...phases, so to speak. But I think I need to make it a permanent state.

Plus, the Universe likes to play--let's not forget that!;)

10. here's what I think
I think psychic phenomena is natural. Because we live in a society with a distorted, almost completely wrong worldview, the prevalent view is that psychic phenomena is uncommon.

It's hard not to believe this, since it is reiterated every day and there are significant social penalties for acting like it's otherwise. I'm in academia and if I were to tell my colleagues I had psychic flashes, I would be ostracized. I know that for a fact.

Since it's a natural ability, it's perfectly natural for us to have intuitive flashes about both big and small things.

However this came about, you will have fun with it if you can keep it up. If you really want to develop it, regular meditation will increase your skills substantially. Just my two cents worth.

I was talking about this with a friend today. We are both pretty psychic and we talked about how our abilities change our behavior. A lot of people don't understand why we do things the way we do, but that's because we're navigating the world using this ability.

My friend's abilities have had some very dramatic and high stakes results. She opposed what looked like a very good financial transaction. She was under a lot of pressure to go forward with it but every bone in her body was telling her it was the wrong way to go. The fallout from her refusal was very stressful. She took an enormous amount of heat for it and for the first time in her 25-year marriage, her husband was so angry he couldn't speak with her for several days. For months he brought it up to her. Very bad situation.

Now, a year later, the people who were key in the transaction have been found to be unscrupulous. I wish I could say more about this but I can't because it hasn't completely developed yet. It makes for a pretty dramatic and interesting story, though.

There's no way of saying for certain, but I have to think entering into a deal with these people might have had some very serious consequences. I think my friend saved herself a world of grief by going with her intuition.

So it may be little things today, but you never know what it can develop into.

Cher

14. I agree, Cher
I think back to the way it used to be, millennia ago, when the people who populated this earth lived completely tuned in and in sync with the higher energies, and I get a little sad about the way we live now. It's depressing when you toss out a little mention of something supernatural or psychic or what have you in other forums (cough GD or Lounge cough) and watch how quickly the majority of people jump on it to laugh at it or explain it away with "logical" suggestions as to what it might be as a way to distance themselves from it before they get ridiculed by association. Or something.

We're not so very far from our witch burning days, after all.

Good on you and your friend for following your intuition/listening to the Universe. I've done the same thing, such as not taking a job that sounded ideal, etc., and caught hell. But it always works out correctly sooner or later.

Honestly though, I get weird hits too, I will have to remember to write them down and come back here to post...

I have a good one...have you ever gotten that weird ring in one ear..? anyone?
It is like you can feel it coming, because the ear seems to stop hearing, like a bubble in it, then the chime, like a tibetan bell almost. Maybe I should try and figure out the pitch and see what energetic it rings to?

15. ROFL!
Well, the first thing I'd do is bring back Pushing Daisies! Think I can influence people to watch the decent shows so get good ratings and stay on the air?

I've always had weird hits in my life, but they go in phases. I'm in a particularly fruitful phase, at the moment, it seems.

OMG the ringing in the ear--yes indeed! I get that all the time. I read somewhere that it's the Universe attuning us in small steps--when we hear the ringing we're downloading essential information.

Funny you should mention pitch--I think that's very valid. I was reading a book about the sites in Egypt last night, and it mentioned a temple dedicated to the Hathors, which reminded me of what I've read about them in other books. I feel a strong affinity to them. And they were big into vibrational tones. That's something I've wanted to study more, in fact. A while back I had a vision of Tibetan monks using their chants/vibration to levitate and move heavy items. Isn't that the way the Egyptians built the pyramids and the Celts erected Stonehenge?

18. You got it sistah!
When my baby girl was born, I had visions every time she nursed... and came up with a whole way of healing involving the ALL different modalities and all the senses...
In doing research I found that there are different tones for each chakra, and even for soft tissues vs things like bone, etc...
Check out tuning forks for healing ...you'll be surprised!

And I have always "known" that's how those things were constructed...by sound and song and vibration (flute, drum, etc..) It was always funny to watch things like "In Serach Of..." as a child, because I thought the grown ups were totally missing the POINT!! lol
Have you read the "Ancestors of Avalon" by MZB and Diana PAxon...? it talks about sining the stones onto place too..

but at least the ringing means I am being tuned, I am happy to be "worked on" by my guides! Means I don't have to do it ALL !!! lol

19. OMG OMG OMG I LOOOOOVED In Search Of!
I was so addicted to that show! But you're right--they got some stuff SO wrong. LOL! I can't bear to watch "mystery" shows on Discovery Channel or the History Channel today. The moment they start talking about ramps and ropes and a zillion slaves building the pyramids (as tombs, no less--ugh!) I get all irritated and start talking back to the TV! Bad for my blood pressure!

Cool about the visions when you were nursing--was it with your crystal child?

I was really interested in learning more about sound and vibration when I was with my coven, and I REALLY wanted to integrate music into our circles, but that wasn't something my elder was drawn to, so we never did. Time to do some work on my own, I guess!

Hee hee about the ear thing--yeah, sometimes it's great to just sit back and let the Universe pour it into our heads!

17. I've had this, but not lately
It does seem to happen in waves, though. And it is usually mundane, like turning on the radio to the song that's in my head. Or thinking of someone and then they call.

Come to think of it, I was just drafting an email to someone I rarely contact at work when I received an email from him. Hmm. Maybe I should try to be more "in tune."

It always delights me when it happens. I don't think of myself as psychic, so even just this little bit is a thrill for me.

23. That happens to me sometimes...
Edited on Tue Dec-09-08 10:15 AM by SocratesInSpirit
When I used to listen to popular radio - I'd get a song stuck in my head, turn on the radio, and it would be playing. Happened all the time! I love music - maybe that's why I was so attuned to it?

My mother sometimes has foreshadowing dreams - she dreamed my father's plane would be delayed by a sudden, freak snowstorm, and it was. She dreamed she was holding my hand while I was getting some kind of medical procedure done - and the next day, I fell into the corner of a table (I was in fifth grade at the time), and I had to get four stitches in my chin. She did indeed have to hold my hand!

Occasionally I will also have such dreams. Just last night, I dreamed of the horrible crash of the Paris Concorde flight. The part that kept replaying in my mind was the plane hitting the hotel. Then I woke up this morning, and this was the first thing I saw in LBN:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x3637634

Pretty freaky.

Edit: I should add that I don't live in San Diego - I'm all the way across the country in CT! Strange what the mind picks up sometimes...

24. similar here
Re: the plane......for the last four or five days, during the daytime, I have been remembering dreams that I had in the past about planes crashing. Then I would think to myself, why am I remembering that dream--especially since, I DON'T ACTUALLY REMEMBER ANY DREAMS ABOUT A PLANE CRASHING. As far as I know, I haven't ever had a dream on the subject. I would just find myself thinking about a dream I never actually had about a plane crashing. Does that make sense? Why would start remembering a dream I don't actually remember having?

I get slightly freaked out by stuff like this. I still don't think I ever had a dream like that. If so I don't remember a single detail. But it kept popping into my mind.

26. The mind is an interesting thing...
especially when it comes to dreams. I know the feeling you describe - it's like, did I dream this, because I don't remember? But then why is my mind telling me I did?

The reason my mind probably picked the Concorde as a symbol was because I saw the National Geographic documentary about the Paris crash the day after Thanksgiving, and it haunted me quite a bit! But I hadn't thought about it for weeks, so I was curious as to why my mind would randomly latch onto it last night. When I saw the headline in LBN, everything suddenly made sense.

This is why I never wanted to be psychic... if something bad is going to happen, I don't want to know about it. My husband's been in a few minor fender benders in the past, and in the days leading up to them, I'd get these horrible feelings of dread that he was going to be in some kind of car accident. I told the universe no thanks, if this was going to happen again, I absolutely did not want any inklings about it beforehand. Just a few months ago, someone rear-ended him (no damage, thankfully), and I am happy that I did not "see" that one coming!

27. well, if it is specific enough
it can be avoided supposedly. Suppose you don't just have a feeling but a third eye flash about a certain intersection. Then, you can be especially careful at that intersection.

I guess the answer is either to not have precognition at all or to have it specific enough to actually act on.

I don't remember acting on anything precognitive that I have had, but sometimes I just make an intuitive decision, so, who knows?

28. Yep - no precognition or specific! That's the way to go
This thread has got me thinking about more stuff that has happened -

I once had a "flash" that I needed to be careful turning a corner while driving, so I went a lot slower than usual - and lo and behold, a young kid on a bike came zooming out of their driveway right in front of my car! Thank God for that flash!

And just last fall, I was visiting a corn maze at a farm in New Hampshire. As I was walking up the hill to get to the maze, I was hit by the feeling that there were people buried on the land. I was gazing at the fields to my left, wondering why I would suddenly be thinking that. If I had looked to my right - I would have seen the little ancestral familial cemetery! (I saw it on the way back down)

Heh - I guess I'm more psychic than I realized. But I think we all are.

29. After I wrote my previous post
About not experiencing this lately, I had several small flashes, and the one I posted separately about running into my husband at lunch. The small flashes were truly mundane or just weird ideas that popped into my mind and then something happened to confirm it.

I love it when this happens. Maybe the universe is playing with me.
