California special election announcement
Edited on Sat Jun-11-05 03:51 PM by robertarctor
I just got a notice in my e-mail that Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger intends to announce his special election on Monday, June 13 at 5:01 p.m. from his office at the State Capitol in Sacramento. Out of curiosity, I ran a chart of the event, and it's, ahem, kind of interesting. I can't post the chart, but I'll list some highlights with the hope that a few of you mundane astologers might want to chew it over.

ASC: 11 Scorpio 09. First-house Ceres conjunct ASC at 12 Scorpio 01 Rx.

MC: 18 Leo 43. Neptune opposite at 17 Aquarius 26 Rx.

Pluto (second house) at 23 Sagittarius 10 Rx almost exactly opposite 23 Gemini 02 Sun (eighth house)

Grand water trine between Ascendant/Ceres, Uranus (10 Pisces 45, fourth house) and Venus (12 Cancer 39, eighth house).

Other placements:
Chiron, third house, 02 Aquarius 32 Rx.
Mars, fifth house, 01 Aries 19.
North node, sixth house, 20 Aries 39 Rx.
Juno, sixth house, 00 Taurus.
Vesta, seventh house, 05 Gemini.
Mercury, eighth house, 05 Cancer 31.
Saturn, ninth house, 25 Cancer 58.
Moon, tenth house, 11 Virgo 43.
Pallas Athena, eleventh house, 27 Virgo 00.
Jupiter, eleventh house, 09 Libra 02.

For those of you non-Californians, this is a special election that will contain a wish-list of the Rove-operated meat puppet Schwarzenegger's "reforms," which include the knee-capping of unions and a Texas-style grab at redrawing California's U.S. House of Representative districts. Our Democratic Secretary of State was forced to resign and a Republican was appointed to take his place, and the election will likely be conducted on voting machines from Diebold, ESS and other suppliers.

Anyone?

3. November 8 is the date for the special election
Here's today's Sacramento Bee story:

Dunno if registration is required.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is just George W. Bush with a Nazi accent.

OMG OMG OMG!!! People of California rise up!
With a strong Neptune smoke and mirrors and Pluto brute force to steamroll over dissent, I'm terrified for Californians right now.
Why did that Dem resign his post as Sec. of State?

It does look like a coup a la the Texas type (which has not been able to right itself through the courts).

Nancy, what's the deal with Arnold's chart? I remember you saying, but I may be mistaken, that you felt he'd be down and out by now...though I can't remember any specifics. I'm referring to something you said when we were still over in the Meeting Room, so it's been some time since then. How is it looking now in relation to this new information?

If California is lost, that's the nail in the coffin for all of us.
They set out to get the big three...Florida, Texas and California...and it seems they are going to succeed.

4. One of the DP meetup groups sent it ...
... because they have some demonstrations scheduled. I posted a link upthread to a Sacramento Bee story that also said Schwarzenegger is calling the special election (for November 8) on Monday. The e-mail I got gave the time as 5:01 p.m., so that's what I ran a chart to reflect.

I was curious as to what you thought about the Scorpio ASC conjunct Ceres, the third-house Neptune on the IC, the near exact and applying opposition between second-house Pluto and eighth-house Sun, and the grand water trine involving the ASC, a fourth-house Uranus and an eighth-house Venus. Does this spell "We're sunk"? Or can more complexity be read into it?

5. Arnold has Saturn on his Venus right now
So whatever he does for the next week won't go over well at all.

Then he enters a phase of Saturn crossing his Sun September 2005 through May 2006. November it will be near his Saturn but not quite there and not that close to his Sun.

But he does get Jupiter square his Sun later in November, and Pluto square his MC. February and March he has a Jupiter return, also helpful for him. These could indicate some augmenting of his power.

I don't understand how he can just call an election for what ever he wishes. Doesn't this cost the state a lot of money that they can ill afford to lose. This guyis a real fascist. Can't you do a recall election on him early in May?

7. So hard not to feel pretty hopeless with news like this....
but on the other hand I sense that things were going like this for a while now - like this is how I imagined things would go when I first heard/got insight into the Republican plan....

News lately just seems to be confrming my worst suspicions and nightmares.

8. Yes, but forewarned is forearmed.
And I'm not so sure this thing is hopeless.

I was curious, though, about Ceres right on the Ascendant, and Neptune on the IC opposite the MC, along with that Sun-Pluto opposition and that grand water trine.

Any interpretations?

9. Ifit is the chart for the announcement
Perhaps the strong Neptune implies delusions of grandeur, and the Sun Pluto implies power struggles in making things happen. The Neptune is the most hopeful part in that it suggests ti will all come to naught. Let us hope so anyway. Maybe he will be screamed at enough this week under Saturn that he will back off.

Being knowledgable about what they are about is good because you can think like them and try to step up ahead of them.

10. Schwarzenegger is booed throughout a speech
Saturn transiting his Venus this week.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/politics_schwarzenegger_dc

California Gov.
Arnold Schwarzenegger faced down booing, jeering protesters on Tuesday as he delivered a commencement address at his alma mater, where tuition has risen as a result of his budget cuts.

Only a handful of graduates and faculty stood and turned their backs to the stage, but spectators in the bleachers at Santa Monica Community College's stadium kept up a steady and distracting patter of chants and whistles as Schwarzenegger, dressed in a black robe, made his 20-minute speech.

Cheers and applause erupted midway through his remarks as a faculty member rose and held up a sign, referring to the cost of an upcoming special election, that read: "Honor your promise to our children ... $80 million buys a lot of books."

The noise caused Schwarzenegger to pause momentarily but he plowed through to the end, with a smile on his face and without acknowledging the jeers.

11. From across the border:
I was doing yet another job interview a few days ago, trying to make sure I get to stay here in my new house and don't have to rent a room in CA to have a job next fall. Arnold's infamy crosses state borders among educators; towards the end of this interview, the panel was asking me about what's going on with public ed in CA, and expressing shock and horror over what I had to tell them. One person made a sarcastic comment about "your governor fixing us." I retorted, "He's not my governor any more." His eyebrows shot up, he grinned, and said, "That sounds like a bumper sticker we'll be seeing all over California in the near future."

I believe that Arnold is going down; what worked for him in the beginning has worn thin, and he doesn't have the same support for his agenda, including "special elections," that he once did.

12. Here's what I sense
I sense he'll probably be successful but the people won't take it. California is a very democratic area. I always thought it was strange how California wasn't quite as blue as in the past and I've known them to be. You can feel the people are pissed at him because of how he treats us common folks unless you're an ass kisser. Corporations love him of course (like Enron and all). Hopefully the people will fight back and not let this happen. If that happens then everything will shift.

then. You wondered why CA isn't as blue as it once was (and in reality still is)?? Look no further.
